I’ve not had any free bets from people! Only casino ones which are obviously not risk free! I’m so annoyed as other people seem to be getting loads of follow up free bets 😞

noodleaddict · 18/11/2017 20:17

I just seem to get casino offers too mama so you're not alone!

MissFitton · 19/11/2017 11:20

moog - thanks for the heads up re the darts. Have only managed to bet on a couple of matches but the free bets are always welcome!

Will hill absolutely love me. I've had so many offers from them. Did you register your phone number with them as they seem to text most of their offers to me.

I've got about 5 bets for matches ect happening today, which I've been waiting a couple of days for, so I'm looking forward to getting on with things again tonight.

mamahanji · 19/11/2017 12:27

Yep. Registered my phone number. I’ve had a couple of free spins by text from a few places but no free bets that weren’t casino.

mamahanji · 19/11/2017 19:44

As if by magic. £20 free bet when I place a £20 bet with William Hill. Hooray!

Canadianviews · 19/11/2017 22:03

I’m really interested in starting matched betting but honestly I have no idea where to start? Is there a match betting for dummies or something? That lists step by step guide on how to do it?

noodleaddict · 19/11/2017 22:14

I started through oddsmonkey. Just went on their website and followed the guides. There's others like team profit and profit accumulator. Haven't tried them personally but I think they all do much the same.

makeitpink · 20/11/2017 07:28

I am going to try this at the weekend, watching the videos during the week. Does anyone use profit accumulator?? As it appears they charge a subscription fee but it’s not clear what this is?

mamahanji · 20/11/2017 07:43

I have started with team profit. I’m following their £25 starting plan and once I am through that, I will join odds monkey which is £17.99 a month (I think!). I was really nervous at the beginning and didn’t understand it much but their guides and videos were really helpful and now for basic football/horse bets I know what I’m doing.

makeitpink · 20/11/2017 07:50

Yes I was thinking I will start with team profit as it appears to be free. My goal is to make enough to pay off my credit cards. I know it will take time but it would be good to clear them quicker than just paying the minimum amount. What’s everyone else’s goals/targets?

imnottoofussed · 20/11/2017 07:58

Place marking

mamahanji · 20/11/2017 09:03

My goal is to make £100-£200 a month so I don’t have to go back to work part time. If I go back to work 1 day a week, I bring in £200. But I really want to stay home with my kids and not miss out on family time on Saturdays so I’m putting in the time every evening to make it possible.

Fingers crossed. We are in a better financial situation so I haven’t had to take out and use any of my Profit yet so it’s going quicker as I don’t have to wait for funds to clear. I’m just keeping very careful track of what I’ve put in and what I’ve made and where it is.

There is a brilliant spreadsheet but honestly after the first 5-6 trigger bets I have found it easier to right it all in a notebook because it’s easier in my head.

Canadianviews · 20/11/2017 09:58

So I started this morning, using Oddsmonkey. I’ll be honest, whilst I get the basic principle, my maths isn’t the greatest and I did find it all a tad confusing Blush I really hope I’ve done it right!

The liability on my lay bet meant that I had to deposit £78 into my Betfair account, which along with the £5 or £10 (can’t remember now) I’m my coral account, meant that I had deposited nearly £100 into the two accounts Shock does this seem right?

mamahanji · 20/11/2017 10:22

Was this for a trigger bet? The idea for trigger bets is to keep the odds low and then the liability is low. But provided to used the calculator and backed and layed the bet correctly, it will be fine. For trigger bets I try and keep the odds around their minimum, so if their minimum odds are 2.0 I will aim for less than 3.0. But now I have over £200 in liability I will go up to odds of 5.5 for my free bets which gives me more profit.

I had a £50 free bet yesterday and made £32 on it but my liability was £190! Unfortunately my bet won so went into the bookies and now I’m waiting for it to withdraw so I can do some more bets.

Canadianviews · 20/11/2017 17:16

Oh damnit, I’ve just realised I have betted on tennis with my free bets this morning from Coral Angry I didn’t pay enough attention, I’m such an idiot. I really hope I don’t lose £78 Sad

I’m not sure I get all of this matched betting stuff Sad

Karcheer · 20/11/2017 18:58

Hello, can I join? I've been toying with this for a long, long time. I've a bank acc set up and joined oddsmonkey. Going to start properly tomorrow, so apologise now for lots of questions!
Just looking for a bit of extra pocket money and most,y just want to see if I can do it after thinking about it fir sooooo long!

Canadianviews · 20/11/2017 20:31

I’ve deposited a total of £100 into Betfair today and £15 into Coral and Betfred for their free offers, which means I am £115 lighter in my account today and so far I’ve made a profit of £15.87 Confused

I have £91 in my Betfair account and £28 in my Betfred account (haven’t received my £30 free bets yet) with one more match still outstanding (it’s tomorrow) so I guess in total I do have £119 at the moment that I could deposit into my account should I wish? However, I’m guessing I should leave it in there for future bets / lays and just accept that total loss from my bank account? Sad

Welshmaenad · 20/11/2017 20:32

I have started this today, using profit accumulator, and am bricking it a bit until I see if it all works out!

Karcheer · 20/11/2017 20:36

I set up an oddsmonkey account a while back, but now I'm thinking of following the team profit suggestions first.
Anyone an experience of the best place to start?
I was thinking of starting with £50 but do you think £100 might be more sensible?

Canadianviews · 20/11/2017 20:57

Kacheer, I thought I’d start small but soon needed £75 in my Betfair account for my first lay!

I did pick higher odds though so if you stick to odds of 1.5-3 you should be okay and may get away with £50.

If you can afford £100 though that would get you a bit further though I think.

Karcheer · 20/11/2017 21:07

How long have you been doing it for?
Which tool are you using?

MissFitton · 20/11/2017 21:11

Good to see lots of new MBetters!

The more you can start off with the quicker you can get going. I think I started off with £100 and spent time waiting for funds to transfer around accounts. Now I have a minimum of £500 in Betfair (the recommendation to be able to cover all possibilities a couple of grand in the exchanges) and bits floating between bookies and my dedicated MBing bank account. Nothing touches my 'real' money anymore (ie my day to day bank accounts) so you can keep an eye on where everything is.

My aim is to make overpayments on my mortgage. Have done a little (been MBing since April) but still concentrating on building up my bank. Profit Accumulator is great for giving you the offers, although I think Odds Monkey is just as good.

I've been going through Quidco to sign up to some new betting sites, as long as the free bets aren't affected it seems worthwhile, I've made £70 in my first two days just on cashback!
