Just came across a good few MNers talking about it on another thread. I don't even know what it is but from the jist of the convo, there's good money to be made from having a couple of hours a day to do it... I have those hours!!
Can anyone enlighten me please?

Ok, so I'll go and make those bets, placing £5 at coral to get my free bets

MaidOfStars · 12/04/2017 14:27

Calm
You'll be laying your mug bets so shouldn't lose too much on them. Mug bets are like qualifying bets - come out roughly even. But occasionally the bookie will take your stake (which you'll largely offset on the lay). But it keeps the bookies happy.

Verticalvenetianblinds · 12/04/2017 14:27

Ooo this thread moves fast. Yes, 10 on a 15/8 on betfred. Then 100 in betfair to lay the bet.
Just scared!

Get both windows open at the same time, Coral and Betfair.
Place both bets in your betting slip.

Then hit the button on both.

Don't place one, then amble over to the other site, open it, log in etc.

DangerousMouse · 12/04/2017 14:28

It says Dortmunds odd are 8/15, thats the same as 1.53 right?

MaidOfStars · 12/04/2017 14:30

Yes, 10 on a 15/8 on betfred. Then 100 in betfair to lay the bet
Did you use an Oddsmatcher to generate this bet?

MaidOfStars · 12/04/2017 14:30

Danger Stop for a minute.
Change both Coral and Betfair to decimal odds.

CalmItKermitt · 12/04/2017 14:31

Yeah sorry I get that I lay off my mug bets 👍🏻
Was just wondering how much I could realistically expect to make per month, long term if I just do the reloads etc without going into complicated stuff like accumulators 😊

Verticalvenetianblinds · 12/04/2017 14:32

Fuck I didn't change the price format to decimal.... I'm on the betfred app, I can't see how to do that

DangerousMouse · 12/04/2017 14:32

ok will do

Verticalvenetianblinds · 12/04/2017 14:33

Yes maid of stars, but didn't change to decimal

CalmItKermitt · 12/04/2017 14:33

How often are reload offers sent out?

DangerousMouse · 12/04/2017 14:34

do you know how to change it to decimal on bet fair?

MaidOfStars · 12/04/2017 14:35

Verticalvenetianblinds
Click the menu bars top left.
Scroll down to Settings.
Toggle Odds Type to decimal.

Verticalvenetianblinds · 12/04/2017 14:37

Have I fucked up? Sad I put 15/8 in the calculator on profit accumulator then did the as it said

Verticalvenetianblinds · 12/04/2017 14:37

Have changed it now, thanks!

MaidOfStars · 12/04/2017 14:39

15/8 is the decimal 2.88 (work the fraction out, add 1).

Betfred requires your qualifying bet to be at 2 or greater so you made that OK.

I've never run the calculator in fractional odds.

Verticalvenetianblinds · 12/04/2017 14:40

I just did it again and it says liability 19.33 not 100, will add screen shot of betfair one

MaidOfStars · 12/04/2017 14:40

If you've followed the calculator's instructions, and the fractional odds in the calculator matched the fractional odds you saw on each betting site, I think you'll be fine Smile

But switch to decimals now.

If the horse wins I'm fucked!

MaidOfStars · 12/04/2017 14:42

What stake did you put into Betfair???

PS. The odds are fine. 2.88 on BetFred and 2.94 on Betfair. Close.

Verticalvenetianblinds · 12/04/2017 14:44

51.90

BeeFarseer · 12/04/2017 14:44

Fuck it, this thread is making me want to get back into it. I'm using some savings as my float and signing up to Oddsmonkey. As long as I make a profit after covering the Oddsmonkey fee, I'll be happy, and I have no operations planned, which wiped me out last night as I wasn't well enough to keep up.

MaidOfStars · 12/04/2017 14:45

Sorry but yes.

I think you've not adjusted the stake specified in Betfair. The Oddsmatcher software tells you what to specify in the stake box.

If the horse wins, you're getting £28.80 at Betfred but losing £100.69 at Betfair.

If the horse loses, you're losing £10 at Betfred and gaining £51.90 at Betfair.
