ExpatMrs · 08/04/2017 15:59

Just came across a good few MNers talking about it on another thread. I don't even know what it is but from the jist of the convo, there's good money to be made from having a couple of hours a day to do it... I have those hours!!
Can anyone enlighten me please?

You can't do this by picking the event you'd like to bet on.

You can only do this by betting on the event that fits the matched betting principles.

And you can't find these events without using a matched betting calculator.

Honestly, please, don't make any bets until you go to Oddsmonkey, sign up and open their calculator.

Let me knwo when you do and I'll talk you through it.

I've managed to get profit accumulator calculator to work

DangerousMouse · 12/04/2017 14:08

Do I need to sign up (and pay) for odd monkey?

DangerousMouse · 12/04/2017 14:08

Oh and thank you so much for your help!!

CalmItKermitt · 12/04/2017 14:09

So just as an example, say I've got two bets going on at the same time and each one needs £45 liability, do I need at least £90 in my Betfair account? I.e. Does Betfair know I'm running two bets? Are they like "Whoa missy!! You've got enough for either one of these bets but not both!"

MaidOfStars · 12/04/2017 14:09

Have you read my post with all the calculations in it?

I made two bets on two events, A v B and C v D. Those two events were suitable for matched betting purposes because the odds between bookie and exchange were so close.

The closer your odds in each event, the bigger your profit.

Those two events? I would NEVER have identified them without the calculator. One of them was in a market I wouldn't have ventured into (Argentinian football, a score prediction).

You need to sign up but not pay/subscribe to use the calculator. At least not now, because it works quite happily for Coral v Betfair.

Go sign up, then come back.

CalmItKermitt · 12/04/2017 14:11

I'm so on the verge of understanding it all. It's like having a word on the tip of your tongue!

I felt like this just before I grasped the "Missing pound" riddle 😊

I

DangerousMouse · 12/04/2017 14:12

yep I signed up for the free bits of odd monkey

Verticalvenetianblinds · 12/04/2017 14:12

Holy fuck I've done it. I just put all the child benefit, which we need for shopping next week into a betfred and betfair accounts. Race is at 3.20 I am bricking it, what if I've done it wrong?!

MaidOfStars · 12/04/2017 14:12

Yes. You cannot lay bets unless you have the liability available, and that liability is removed from your account until the bet is settled and Betfair know what to do with it (pay it out to the backer if YOU LOSE THE LAY or return it to you plus the backer's stake IF YOU WIN THE LAY).

Does Betfair know I'm running two bets?
Yes.

Yes.

CalmItKermitt · 12/04/2017 14:13

Great thanks Maid!! 😄👍🏻

OK, £10 into Betfred for the stake to qualify for the free bet? And the rest into Betfair?

Race is at 3.20 I am bricking it, what if I've done it wrong?!
Is this a qualifying bet? Do you want to post screenshots/details of what you've done and we can check it?

CalmItKermitt · 12/04/2017 14:17

Ooh yes Vertical! Do that!

MaidOfStars · 12/04/2017 14:18

OK, open the OddsMatcher software.
Click "Filter"
Check Limit Bookmakers and check Coral
Check Limit Exchanges and check Betfair
Change the back odds to 1.5 (the minimum odds needed to claim your free bet with Coral - you missed that with your 1/5 Athletico idea....)
Change liquidity to £5.
Hit Apply.
Look at results.

CalmItKermitt · 12/04/2017 14:19

So if someone just did all the qualifying bets and the sign up offers, and then just too advantage of reload offers how much might they realistically make on an ongoing basis?

CalmItKermitt · 12/04/2017 14:19

Took.

DangerousMouse · 12/04/2017 14:22

Thank you Maid you're amazing! ok, I've got all the results, is it usually best to go for the top one or is there something in particular I'm looking for?

DangerousMouse · 12/04/2017 14:23

yep I can see the dortmund monaco

MaidOfStars · 12/04/2017 14:24

This is a good qualifying bet. The odds are close between bookie and exchange, and see the £figure at the far right? That's high, meaning loads of people are betting on it, thus your bet won't look out of the ordinary.

MaidOfStars · 12/04/2017 14:25

Click on the "i" next to the Coral logo - it will bring up a set of instructions on what to bet where.

MaidOfStars · 12/04/2017 14:25

GO TO CORAL
BET £5.00 AT ODDS OF 1.53
GO TO BETFAIR
LAY £5.07 AT ODDS OF 1.56
YOUR LIABILITY WILL BE £2.84
YOUR PROFIT WILL BE -£0.19
