Omg A1b! Why so far back!? How far back did they originally go? X

A1b2C3d4E5f6 · 25/11/2015 20:41

I have no idea. They asked for 14/15 originally. They could have asked for that 9weeks ago when they first told me over the phone to do the mandatory reconsideration. Now I suppose I'll be waiting weeks again, I just can't do it anymore. I feel like I want to go to sleep & not wake up. I'm so drained & upset. I feel physically sick. It's Christmas Day in exactly a month, my rent is due again in 2weeks. It's taken them 23weeks so far so there's now way this will be sorted anytime soon.

JBEM4 · 25/11/2015 20:50

I'm actually speechless - I wish there was something someone could do!! X

Hawaiiturtle101 · 25/11/2015 20:58

It's ridiculous. They can't just push the goalposts trying to catch someone out if someone is linked between certain dates then that's the period they are looking at. Mine was April till September so theoretical ly anything before that is none of their business. I think you need advice now to take it further with them. It sounds like a witch hunt.

CainInThePunting · 25/11/2015 21:23

Good evening

I had a letter from Concentrix back in October asking me to send in a load of information; banks statements from April, utilities, council tax etc. as they had information suggesting I was financially linked to someone.
I called them up to find out who and why and they gave me a name. I said I was not linked to this person in any way and what kind of link was it?
They said I should send the information in first and then speak to HMRC re getting the details of the link.

I decided I wasn't waiting so called HMRC, they said they had no details of the links and I should contact Concentrix for this info. I started getting annoyed as any financial links they have between me and another are either an error or fraud. I want the details so that I can disassociate myself from this financially before it impacts my credit history.

Concentrix again said it was HMRC who passed the link details.

I called HMRC and spoke to Nick, he spoke to his manager who advised him that Concentrix had now put a note on my case saying that I didn't need to respond to the letter. I asked for this in writing and he told me him telling me was enough as the notes would be updated.
He insisted they had no details for the financial link and I needed to get the details from Concentrix.

I called Concentrix again and spoke to Sarah on Connor's team. She looked into it and after speaking to her manager advised me that the person was actually on their system at a completely different address and that the error was made by their computer system. She said she would get it sorted out and that I didn't need to send the information. She apologised and said that the letter had been sent in error.
Sarah actually gave me the address of the man I'm supposed to be linked to, different number, different street, different postcode.
Fine.

One Month later:

Today I contacted HMRC re a change in my situation, they said they couldn't deal with it as Concentrix hadn't updated the system. I asked if the notes were showing from my last contact and was told just that I had been advised to contact Concentrix. They said I needed to speak to Concentrix to get the notes updated.

I called Concentrix again, spoke to an adviser who said the case was still outstanding so I requested to speak to a manager. I spoke to Cathy a manager on Team 6 ext 703276 who said that Sarah had advised me wrongly, that the case was still to be investigated but because of the wrong advice I didn't need to respond now ( yeah, bollocks I thought).
She said the system would be updated within 48 hours and I asked for written confirmation which she agreed she would send.
However, she said that all the details of financial links came from HMRC in house compliance so I need to get the details of these financial links from them.

I then contacted HMRC AGAIN! and asked to speak to a manager. I spoke to Lesley who is raising a complaint for me so that I can find out where the links have come from and what they are. I should get a response by the 16th.

I will call Cathy again tomorrow to check she has updated their system.

My advice to anyone with a letter saying they are linked to someone financially is call and demand the details before you send any paperwork in. There may not be any link as Concentrix obviously don't know their HMARSE from their elbow.

All paper work ready to go except council Tax bill. still not received. Hope others are getting there.

987leigh654anne · 28/11/2015 10:11

Good morning all,

I have never posted on here, or anywhere else for that matter, but I received the dreaded 'another adult linked to your address' letter last Saturday. I had never heard of the letters before and got myself in quite a state, as other had mentioned I assumed that someone had notified the authorities that I my ex regularly visits the children at my house. I googled the company and found this site, although I don't feel quite as bad as I did last week, I have followed this conversation every day since so it is obviously still there at the front of my mind.

After calling concentrix, I have found that the adult is a young family member of mine who I allowed to stay with us for a short time while he was studying. I explained this on the phone but the still want the paperwork. I have gathered it all together and I am just waiting for a couple of bank statements to come through.

Although I have nothing to hide, I have to say I feel like my privacy has been breached by having to sent my bank statements. I use my card for everything and I feel violated knowing that a stranger will look at these. I also can't understand why a simple check by the HMRC cannot prove that I am in fact closely related to this person and that unless they are planning on accusing me of incest, we are clearly not in a relationship.

I have noticed the thread has gone quiet the end of this so I'm hoping that my posting will help others who received the letter recently or are still awaiting a decision.

Has anyone heard from Ab1? I really hope everything's ok.

Milkyway66 · 28/11/2015 10:51

I had the 'someone linked to my address' letter, which turned out to be the previous owner of my house.

I sent paperwork off just before the deadline of 12th Nov and it was sent back by the 19th with a covering letter saying they'll write to me shortly.

On 25th Nov concentrix wrote to say thankyou for sending information and they don't need to amend my award.

Even though I knew I'd done nothing wrong I'm glad it's over!

Morgani97 · 28/11/2015 11:24

987leigh,I heard from Ab1 on Thursday but nothing since then. I still can't work out how bank statements prove our circumstances. These bloody people haven't a clue what they're doing nor do they care about the concequences of their actions. Milkyway that was quick, lets hope it's a start of things to come.

Milkyway66 · 28/11/2015 11:42

Yes I was surprised how quick mine was dealt with Morgani, considering the situations many people are in on here, and hopefully this system will progress more quickly in future.

987leigh654anne · 28/11/2015 11:58

Morgani I totally agree, surely copies of birth certificates would have been better? I hope mine is as quick as yours Milkyway. Guilty until proven innocent is a very bizarre feeling.

Hawaiiturtle101 · 28/11/2015 12:17

I've just had my letter confirming that they don't need to amend my award and that all is ok. Thank god! !! I sent my stuff off at the beginning of November, got it back just before the deadline of the 13th November and letter in the post today. Just to say I had payments into my account from father of children, my parents too and clients. ..All bills were in my name only and I only sent what they wanted. I never rang to find the name attached to me I didn't contact them at all as I didn't believe there was a name attached. I'm glad it's over and hoping this is not a yearly thing. I'm asking the dad for cash now instead of through my bank just incase they ask again sometime and it then minimises the risk for me.

JBEM4 · 28/11/2015 19:18

I'm over the moon for you Hawaii!! What a relief 😊

I'm still waiting for my decision 😕 They told me to call at the beginning of next week for an update and I'm praying they give me good news! My (ex) husband has only put child maintenance in my account which is how it'll be from now on but not sure they'll take my word for it and not sure how I'd prove it without waiting a few months and sending in more bank statements 😕 I seem to have advisors who sympathise and agree it's a tricky situation to those who pretty much accuse me of lying ... It's so draining!!

Hi to the new ladies! Hope we're able to provide some support and advice x

Morgani97 · 28/11/2015 19:32

Fab news Hawaii really pleased for you. Good luck for next week JBEM4,and good luck to anyone else who's still waiting x

Hawaiiturtle101 · 28/11/2015 19:52

Can I just add too that I blanked out all account numbers and sort codes and mobile phone numbers on all bills and gas account numbers with tippexed and then photocopied originals and sent them in.

Password9 · 29/11/2015 13:08

Hawaiiturtle101 Thats great. Ive done the same with account numbers and was worried they would reject them.

Password9 · 29/11/2015 13:12

Notjustamummy1 · 30/11/2015 00:32

Hi ive been following for a while.. Been 12 weeks now ive had to first prove i was single parent sent all details away fine recived a letter payments stopped so i called concentrix spoke to a lovely guy who looked through my case told me it was mistake there was no evidence to prove there actions payments would be reinstated great😆 Called back on the friday to be told no the guy had made a mistake they now had "evidence " i had been living back at my parents house because i had mail going there (i lived at that address 10 years moved out 4 years ago and i didnt feel the need to change my toysrus acc) i had to send documents of my parents address for them my brother etc and proof of my address again 😔 Then i had to go down to sort my housing out for them to tell me.. I had to prove my children were in my care and at my address as they had been informed my tax credits were stopped due to removal of my children.. I was beyond livid.. I have been on the phone near everyday and ive lost count of how many times ive been told it will be sorted out and nothings done.. Who do these people actually think they are messing with peoples lifes soo angry with them sorry for rant

JBEM4 · 30/11/2015 08:22

Morning all - still no update from me 😕 Fingers crossed it'll be finalised one way or the other this week.

Wow notjust! You're certainly being put through the mill - what bizarre claims for them to make. I was told by one lady in concentrix that they never stop payments unless they're 110% sure a claim has been made incorrectly/fraudulently. This put my mind at ease until I started reading posts like yours. I really hope it's sorted for you soon x

Hawaiiturtle101 · 30/11/2015 08:28

I don't think it should matter where your mail goes or whose mail comes to you. I have the odd bit of post come.here from.my mum.as she couldn't remember the security detail.on one of her accounts to change her address..I had post for.my sister when she was in between buying her boat and no mail address, and I have a catalogue set up at my mums under my maiden name to get a different set of offers. ..none of which prove that any of them are living with me. It's just so ridiculous and all targeted at lone/seperated parents.

JBEM4 · 30/11/2015 08:56

Couldn't agree more Hawaii - I know of a few people who are 'creative' with their self employed earnings to bump up their tax credits yet they never seem to be looked at. My cousin who is also a single parent had her claim checked a while back too ..... I dread every Monday as I know I have another week of worry ahead of me ... I wish this would stop 😩

Croy1985 · 30/11/2015 09:26

How is a1b2? Feel like hers has been dragged out for far too long

Notjustamummy1 · 30/11/2015 10:35

Called again this morning to be told nothing has changed even tho on thursday i was told the girl was personally takeing my claim to mandatory reconstruction more lies
to get me off the phone now mr manager has assured me he will personally be emailing them and that concentrix are now hiring and training more people to deal with the back log.. More people to ruin other peoples lifes more like.

Jem4.. Ive have been told from someone who works for benifits that for the people of concentrix to make there bonus they have to shut one in 3 people claim thats why there are investigating so many dont now if these are true but they seem to be looking into alot of people

JBEM4 · 30/11/2015 14:16

Notjust - I've been told by one guy that he was personally going to talk to the decision maker dealing with my case as, although he could see my case is tricky, he didn't believe anything untoward is going on. Since then I've been asked more questions, for more information (which I'm told they don't actually need) and still waiting on a decision. Hawaii had the same deadline as me and her case has been dealt with so I dread to think what's happening with mine Sad

Notjustamummy1 · 30/11/2015 16:05
