Did the originally ask for 2 years of documents? They should ask for what they want and leave it at that. I've had to send April till end of September and that was hard enough to print off. Used all my ink in the printer too.

A1b2C3d4E5f6 · 12/11/2015 14:56

No they didn't ask for all that originally, they're absolutely useless! From joining this thread I've seen that they tell different people different things. I'm sure they make it up as they go along!

forest01 · 12/11/2015 17:27

Hopefully everything works out for you, they should have been satisfied with that they originally asked for. You should make a complaint!! X

JBEM4 · 12/11/2015 18:40

They only asked me for 6 months worth of documents and if they ask for more it's going to be more of the same that I've already sent them .... The lady I spoke to basically said if all bills etc are in my name then there shouldn't be a problem. When I queried the payments my (ex) husband puts in my account she said that it's understandable that he would still contribute to the children/mortgage etc as we have joint commitments .... It's scary that they can move the goalposts when they feel like! Not feeling so confident now Confused

forest01 · 12/11/2015 19:25

What do they want....blood!!!

A1b2C3d4E5f6 · 12/11/2015 20:15

Everything is in my name. My bank account, my gas & electric, the water, council tax, tenancy agreement. My ex pays the broadband as he bought the kids an iPad a couple of years ago so he likes to facetime them, he lives an hour & half away so it's a way to keep contact during the week after work, but the direct debit for it comes from his bank account which is registered at his address! I explained that on the phone 7weeks ago & the man said he was happy with that & to put it in the mandatory reconsideration. Ex has own place where everything is registered to, car, driving licence, bank account, phone contract, council tax, electoral roll etc...And he never pays any money into my bank account. Feel like they're taking the piss!

forest01 · 12/11/2015 20:55

I would go see a solicitor that's a disgrace!!!

Haggis48 · 12/11/2015 21:54

Hi everyone

I have had a bad day today - can't stop worrying!! Does anyone else have a joint morgage with ex and he pays it from his bank account? I transfer ex £280 per month but he pays remaining £900 as maintenance. I pay council tax but his name still on Bill - just concerned as I've seen things on here where people say if ex contributes then you are not classed as single??

KatharineClifton · 12/11/2015 22:01

It's by the by in the grand scale of awful things on here, but why wouldn't any LP take their partner off the Council Tax bill? There is a 25% reduction if you are the only adult in the house.

Haggis48 · 12/11/2015 22:08

Hi Katherine

My eldest daughter is 24 and lives at home so not eligible for discount and thought as ex was half owner of property and pays majority of morgage he needed to stay on ct bill

KatharineClifton · 12/11/2015 22:10

Ah, wouldn't of thought so. Perhaps phone the council asap and if not then get them to send amended bill out without his name?

Hawaiiturtle101 · 13/11/2015 08:15

I don't claim the discount for council tax. There's only me on the bill and I did think that because I owned my own home it was a benefit I wouldn't be entitled too so I never bothered. I'd rather not have the council involved in my and mine childrens home. My mum.helps me out paying it sometimes..I'd rather pay it. It's £100 a month here so not extortionate.

KatharineClifton · 13/11/2015 08:40

It's an automatic discount for single people in a house. It's not means tested.

DeoGratias · 13/11/2015 09:20

Yes, the only reason I don't get the 25% council tax discount is because I choose to house my adult son (I certainly took the 25% discount when he was away at university).

LoubyLou123456 · 13/11/2015 16:37

same here before my son turned 18 few months ago i did get it too but cant now with him classd as adult

DeathStar · 13/11/2015 19:03

Quick update on mine - sent everything they asked for 1st class recorded on the 4th (past 6 months' worth of bills and statements plus tenancy agreement), I got everything back from them recorded delivery on the 11th (the day before the deadline they'd given me to submit, so very fast turnaround - and nothing was missing) with just a printed letter enclosed saying 'Thank you for sending us your documents as requested which we have returned, we will write to you shortly about your Tax Credits'.

In other words, pretty painless. No requests for further evidence, no 'threats' - and no re-iteration of nameless imaginary persons living with me or at my address. I've never had a relationship or been married, so it should be open-and-shut anyway. Although a bit of my psychosis wants to know who they are hallucinating lives here with me, reality sadly tells me it's just the same wording they send to everyone, and not to get my hopes up that somewhere, even in someone else's fantasy, there is the possibility of so much as an imaginary man in my life.

re. Council Tax - yes, it's based on who lives under the roof of your address. Not who owns it, in absentia - otherwise it would be too expensive to rent from private landlords xx

Hawaiiturtle101 · 14/11/2015 10:09

Mine was the same as yours Death star. Had my documents back very quickly. I just hope there isn't another letter asking for more and more. Was there a name on your original letter from them? Mine had no name and I didn't ring them to discuss it either. I just sent what they asked..nothing more..no explanations of money into my account or reasons why..just the paperwork.

JBEM4 · 14/11/2015 13:07

They send your paperwork back as soon as its scanned on to their system. They then send that information to a decision maker who looks through it all and decides whether it's all ok, they want more information or they stop your tax credits. Mine is with the decision makers at the moment eeeek

forest01 · 15/11/2015 14:20

Good luck JBEM4, your situation is something the same as mine x

daisyswirl · 15/11/2015 17:13

I sent all my docs by special next day delivery on weds and its still not been delivered! Royal Mail say it can't be classed as lost till Thursday which is my deadline day. To say I'm stressed is the understatement of the year! Not sure what I'm going to do as it took me ages to put all the original paperwork together. They've advised to ring concentrix and see if its been delivered without being tracked and signed for but I think they've def lost it. But not to worry they're refunding my postage..whoop de do.

Hawaiiturtle101 · 15/11/2015 22:12

It's all so stressful. I'm wondering whether to try and save my tax credits payment incase my next one before xmas is stopped because their decide against me without proof. It's laughable if it wasn't so upsetting.

JBEM4 · 16/11/2015 09:17

I have no update from concentrix but physically and emotionally I'm a wreck - I thought I was handling the stress relatively well but I discovered my alopecia has returned and although small I have no idea how much hair I'll actually lose. I'm calling concentrix today and I'm begging them to put me out of my misery one way or the other because I'm so fed up of feeling like I have the weight of the world on my shoulders!!!

Hope all you ladies are ok and coping under the circumstances x

A1b2C3d4E5f6 · 16/11/2015 09:51

I was told my mandatory reconsideration was with decision maker 10days ago. Still heard nothing!

JBEM4 · 16/11/2015 09:55

I've just spoken to them again and it's still with the decision makers. They've been able to tell me that it's my (ex) husbands name linked to my address which is hardly surprising. Hoping it's not too much longer to wait for an outcome Confused

A1b2C3d4E5f6 · 16/11/2015 10:03

Every Monday I think surely I'll hear something this week, then it gets to Friday again & it's another week with no news or payment. It'll be 22weeks Friday for me. I gave up hope weeks ago.
