But aren't current tax credits from April 2014 to April 2015? So if they "think" someone is linked with my address from April 2015 to Oct 2015 then I have been paid credits for this year? Am I right or am I going mad!!

Georgina64 · 22/10/2015 20:17

Sorry I meant I haven't been paid for this year

KatharineClifton · 22/10/2015 20:23

Are you saying that you have received no TC payments since April 2015?

Or are you thinking that the TC's you receive this year are actually last year's because they are based on last year's income? If this then you are wrong.

Georgina64 · 22/10/2015 20:30

I have received tax credits since April... Ok I understand thanks

Hawaiiturtle101 · 22/10/2015 20:32

Same dates as my investigation .6th April to 15 October.

Hawaiiturtle101 · 22/10/2015 20:34

Georgina64..did they name anyone on your letter? No name on mine.

Helpplease8 · 22/10/2015 20:37

Hello,

I dont know if any of you can help but i thought i would try. I am writing on behalf of my girlfriend as she is quite emotional due to the below.

She has recently received a letter from concentrix regarding her tax credits for April 201 to 2015. The letter states they have now amended her tax credits award from £151 to £91 for 2014 then £81 from May 2015.

We thought this was odd as she was receiving £290 per week for her two children. She has statements to show that her nursery and child minder was £400 a month.

We have called concentrix who informed my girlfriend that she has been overpaid £11,000 for the year! They have also said that her payments are now being reduced to £87 a week.

We cant work out how any of this is right but we are hoping someone can come to a solution. Each time she has filled in the forms correctly with her income from her job where she works 24 hours with wage slips and even got the nursery manager to complete the nursery information.

Now my girlfriend will not be able to live off her work income and the tax credit change, we are desperate for answers.

Can anyone provide some help.

Thank you in advance

Georgina64 · 22/10/2015 20:46

No Hawaiiturtle they didn't name anyone... I might phone them tomorrow to find out who this someone is...But Im so tempted to them to shove it and prove that someone was living with me... Thank god Im strong.. I dread t think what this worry will do to some people.

Georgina64 · 22/10/2015 20:47

However I really would like to hear what outcomes have come from these letters. It might help us all

KatharineClifton · 22/10/2015 20:50

Helpplease8 she needs to go to CAB and her MP as soon as possible. Even if there were an overpayment they can't claw it back in such big instalments.

Helpplease8 · 22/10/2015 20:57

My girlfriend has said in May this year her nursery fees changed to £162 a month and that she notified HMRC.
She has said that the concentrix adviser has said she should never have received the £290 a week and it should have been £87, which again makes no sense as she has been receiving this for 2 years. So if this was a massive overpayment why wasnt it picked up in the first year?

She thinks the reduction is just what she will now receive and the overpayment deduction will come of that, leaving her with next to nothing to pay out for 2 children and £200 of care fees

What can the CAB and MP actually do as its to do with Tax Credits and HMRC?

Georgina64 · 22/10/2015 21:19

And another thing.. I am angry that they have used scaremongering tactics.. when we are getting letters that have the same request, same dates that some one was living at our address's. Delivered on the same day.. I think they are just hitting copy and paste a little bit too much.

Hawaiiturtle101 · 22/10/2015 22:47

Georgina64 Does your letter also ask for any divorce papers/solicitors letters?

missleelee · 22/10/2015 23:02

I am over the moon I have found this site X I have been having problems with concentrix since June. They sent me a letter to state I need to send them information as I have a partner.Shock well this was news to me lol. The person they are refuring to is my lodger. My lodger moved in back in January of this year. I let the tax credits know this as well as ESA. Sent them both the contract what was made up when he moved in. Now because he is a male they think we are a couple. I was shocked and disgusted they think these things only because he is a male. Well in June I sent all of the paperwork they need. In August I received another letter from them stating they have not received my paperwork. Even though they sent it back to me. Well guess what they stopped my tax credits. So I resent them again in August and got a letter on the 12 September to state they have revived them. I am a single mother of two and I have had no tax credits for over 8weeks now. They have also suspended my housing benefit because of this. So now I have been waiting for them to get back to me. I was told they have 41 days to complete and give you an answer this was today. When I called them today they still have nothing to tell me

Georgina64 · 23/10/2015 06:04

Yes the did ask for divorce papers. I got divorced 11 years ago. Not received a penny from my ex. I am calling HMRC today and telling them where to go. I really don't get that much per week and Im not being railroaded by a generic letter. I will not have big brother telling me I cant have people to stay. I help out my friends who travel volunteering for good causes and occasionally stay with me. Which I do as a kind and honest person. I rather cut back on my weekly shopping, walk more rather than drive ... doing anything rather than be humiliated and have my life investigated.

Hawaiiturtle101 · 23/10/2015 07:45

Strange that our letters are the same time frame..April till Oct..suggesting generic. The new tax year till now.I'm not divorced but that's not their business as it's not the law. I never wanted to be divorced..always stayed a Mrs in name for my children. If you ring I'd be interested in the outcome if you don't mind sharing Georgina64

Helpplease8 · 23/10/2015 08:26

Sorry to be a pain can anyone else shed some insight on my problem a little further up the page?

Thanks again

Georgina64 · 23/10/2015 08:42

Ive just phoned HMRC. I told them they cant railroad me. I don't want my tax credits and to cancel them. She said they cant cancel them until next April. Great so I get accused of fraudulent activity and they keep paying me. Then I phoned Concentric and said the same thing. They said someone is linked to my property can I say some names that might be linked. They said they cant tell me because of data protection. They are trying to catch people out by asking you to say names. I told them to record that I do not want tax credits. She had a go at me saying Im rude...what do they expect respect. So I imagine I will get a penalty and quite frankly I don't care. I will sell my car. Life is too short and after reading some people have been investigated up to 3 times... no thanks. They don't own me!!! Rant over

Milkyway66 · 23/10/2015 10:26

I got the letter too, which also suggests someone is linked to me or my property and I've also been given the same dates April until October.
I immediately contacted concentrix as no name is on the letter, and also because I've lived alone for over 10 years with my children!. After asking who is supposedly linked to me/my property, I was told the name straight away, it happens to be the previous owner of my house Hmm
Very pissed off that I still have to send them everything except my inside leg measurement to prove that I have no links with this person!

Georgina64 · 23/10/2015 10:46

I called them back and spoke to a guy who was really helpful. I live on a boat and mine turns out to be the guy that owns the mooring!!

Hawaiiturtle101 · 23/10/2015 12:18

Scandalous that a previous owner is showing up or the owner of a mooring and the letters are so judgmental and threatening to stop tax credit money till they decide who is living with you.

Milkyway66 · 23/10/2015 18:27

I wonder if people are being picked purely at random?

DeathStar · 23/10/2015 21:39

I just got 'the letter' on Tuesday - when I rang the guy to discuss other ways of submitting my evidence (I've just come out of hospital last Saturday after another sternum op for my sports injuries) he was actually quite chatty. I asked was it to do with the fact the landlords have just remortgaged the house I rent from them to buy themselves another one, and he said yes, that was the kind of thing that would be flagged up, as HMRC would see the new finance attached to the property, but it could also be random - I'm aware they're sending this out to all single Working/Child Tax Credits claimants.

I'm going to CAB on Monday to get them to process it all for me, as I have two more operations over the next six weeks and don't need the hassle of dealing with them. Also I need to keep all my original documents anyway for Housing Benefit renewal due next month, as the landlords are also taking over management of the property on the 1st and sending me a new tenancy agreement - I've already got that in writing to include as evidence. Hopefully CAB can sign it all off as 'having seen the originals' for me.

Junior thought it was hysterical, I've never been in a relationship - she was from a holiday romance and he didn't want to know from the words 'positive pregnancy test' nearly 18 years ago! :) I told her I was being investigated as to whether someone else was connected to me or our address and her reaction was the same as mine - "WHERE ARE THEY THEN?"

Sorry to hear everyone else is still having to deal with this too. What a bunch of tossers - especially about 'having to see original documents' - don't they realise we need those to prove who we are for other stuff too? Let alone sending them off willy-nilly to strange companies like we're all warned not to!

Crissy26 · 23/10/2015 22:08

Hi guys i got a letter in september also from concentrix, they stated they have cancelled my claim because i havent sent them the information they requested in June. I never got that letter. The advisor i spoke to told me they had information that im living with a partner(female) and I should be claiming as a couple. This is absolute Hoggwash. Im a single mother and have always been a single mother as my daughters father lives overseas

I have sent in all the information they asked for, for a mandatory reconsideration. And i was told it can take up to 42 days to be completed. After nurmerous calls. They told the 42nd day would be the 20 october.

I was on income support when this first started and now ive started working the beginning of this month, I applied for working tax, in order to get my childcare covered. So after going almost two months without no payment, a manager from Concentrix told me today that I will not get my working tax or my childcare cost until this madatory reconsideration is complete, because im claiming as a single person. So now I will more than likely to to loose my my job because i need to come up with 700£ by the 30th otherwise, my child minder will not be able to look after my daughter without payment after then. This company has been a fishing expeditation and they have no idea the damages they are doing to families.

Its ordeal have stressed me out and made me so depressed i cant function.

I have no idea when this will sort out and in the mean time they left me and my daughter to starve because have no income. And because i just started working, I wont my a wage till 10 next month.

Morgani97 · 24/10/2015 09:07

Helpplease do as Katerine says go to CAB and local mp.have you read through this thread from the start? There's loads of advice and support on here. Georgina I know how you feel they make you feel guilty for doing nothing wrong, send them what they want and get in touch with CAB and your mp if you're entitled to tax credits you shouldn't miss out just because they can't get their act together.
