Not sure if it's wise or not to include the phone contract letters - perhaps somebody else on here would know?

nikkileighxox123 · 20/10/2015 22:53

Katherine if that's the case please explain why my money has been stopped since 7th Sep???

I did my declaration to hmrc in June on time. Got a letter 7th Sep from concentrix saying my money had stopped & I had to do a mandatory reconsideration (which is why you have to send the stuff in to them).

They stopped my money before I had even got the letter to say they were investigating me about someone else living here.

So are you telling me that they made their minds up before informing me or giving me chance to prove they are wrong?

Cazzamoody · 20/10/2015 23:37

My letter just asked me to send in proof all bills were in my name before the 12th November or they will stop my money! When I called them they said do I know of ... Then said my child's fathers name then said they can't see what mail but they have information that something is being sent to my address with that name on it.

Hello ladies,I've nipped back on to see how things are and surprise surprise it's still going on. Please go to the citizens advice bureau and also your mp. Mps have a hotline directly to tax credits and they HAVE to help you. The CAB will give you advice on how to word letters etc, they will also sort you out a food parcel. You can also claim back costs of phone calls and postage once they manage to pull their fingers out. Also if you ring them its vital you get the name of the person you're speaking to as you can unite them in any letters you send. Good luck x x

KatharineClifton · 21/10/2015 12:40

nikkileighxox123, that's awful - have you asked them? Seems like they've missed out a VITAL part of the process ie the initial letter!

nikkileighxox123 · 21/10/2015 13:02

Katharine no I haven't asked them as I thought a mandatory reconsideration is what they are doing now, as they are investigating my circumstances again now. I've gone 7 weeks with no money & a new baby & a 5 year old. Struggling isn't the word.

Morgani I haven't contacted my local mp as I have no idea who or how. I have been to cab though. They gave me a food parcel for me & my son but couldn't help me with my daughter's baby formula or nappies that she desperately needs as she's currently rinsing though all the ones I bought in advance. I'm just hoping that concentrix stick to their word (they told me it takes up to 42 days for them to review a mandatory reconsideration once they receive the information requested) they got mine on the 21st Sep so that takes their decision date to 2nd Nov. If they haven't made a decision by then, then I am taking it further as I need my child tax credits in order to provide for my children

Morgani97 · 21/10/2015 14:33

nikkileigh I'm not sure whereabouts in the country you are but if you google who is my local mp I think you put your postcode in and their name comes up,failing that the CAB will be able to tell you who they are. Have you tried to get a crises loan? That would help with nappies etc.

nikemsjay · 21/10/2015 14:40

i have just had to spend 45 minutes on the phone with hmrc because of concentrix!i didnt receive my payment today and i phoned to find out why not,to be told i hadnt renewed.i explained i hadnt had my renewal pack through and the last contact i had was with concentrix,so she went to check this out.she came back and told me concentrix said they had put my renewal in for me,but they hadnt actually put it on the system, only on paper!!so i have to wait until monday at the earliest to get my payment!because they to**ers messed up!!

I have received a tax credits letter saying that my exh is still showing up as being registered to the house. We are seperated, not legally, since April last year. He hasn't been living here since then.
I pay the mortgage, part of our agreement is that he pays the gas and electric and phone and Internet as that's all under one umbrella and it seemed easier to keep it that way as he was paying it before he left. He give me maintenance sometimes. Sometimes not.
All of his stuff like back details and car are still registered here.
Tax credits office want copies of my bank statements, council tax bill, and all other bills I oay - water etc. I did explain on the phone that he pays electric and gas etc.
Will this be enough to prove he doesn't live here? I'm in a panic as they are threatening to cut my tax credits.
Any one else been in this situation?

Hawaiiturtle101 · 22/10/2015 07:36

Do they normally name the person on the letter that they think is linked to you? I've had one saying someone may be linked to me or my address from 6th April to October but no name written. I've also had someone else's tax credit letter sent to my address, another woman which I sent back twice as not known at my address...I'm wondering if my letter is because of that..2 tax credit claims at my home. I claim for 2 children, seperated for years, all bills in my name. The father transfers money for the kids which I use for the mortgage and then provides money for extra things if he can like high school uniforms etc. I can't see that after years of separation that he's suddenly attached to my address again as he's not on the electoral roll and no post comes here. We do have a joint mortgage but that's to be expected as we were a family and I can't do the mortgage alone if we sold. I have my answers ready for them if for some reason it is him that's suddenly cropped up. I thought they would have named him on my letter though. I haven't got the time to be ringing and kept on hold like some mums have..just hoping payment doesn't stop while the investigation goes on.

nikkileighxox123 · 22/10/2015 07:53

No they don't usually put the name in the letter & you'll be lucky to be told the name over the phone. I have asked repeatedly & they still haven't told me a name & I ring every week to check what's going on

Glassofwineneeded · 22/10/2015 08:13

My letter had a name. My ex husband.

hgorman0707 · 22/10/2015 10:16

I received a letter on Tuesday. I have forwarded all the documents but I am worried sick. Please advise; thanks

hgorman0707 · 22/10/2015 10:44

I'm just reading all your comments and I am in exactly the same situation. . I hope I am posting properly & I have just joined today. .. could someone kindly confirm you can see my post - thank you ?

KatharineClifton · 22/10/2015 11:02

Yes, can see your posts Hgorman0707

What advise are you wanting? It's a waiting game now you've sent your docs. Hopefully you sent them signed for post. Double check they have them if you don't hear back.

KatharineClifton · 22/10/2015 11:02

*advice doh!

Morgani97 · 22/10/2015 11:39

It's the waiting that's the worse. They certainly don't hurry themselves. The best thing to do is to send everything they ask for by recorded delivery that way you have a record of it. Also if you ring them get the name of the person you're talking to. Getting hold of your mp is also something to think about.

Hawaiiturtle101 · 22/10/2015 12:06

My next payment is due on my daughters birthday and 2 days before my deadline. Hoping payment isn't stopped. I'm not sending them till half term is over as I want a clear head. I guess they make their own mind up in the end..like they think they are God. I do think that you should be presented with the so called evidence though as I'd like to know who they think is linked to me or my childrens home.

hgorman0707 · 22/10/2015 13:10

Thank you. I sent all the original documents I had with utility bills. My ex-husband is still on the mortgage though as I can't afford to buy him out & vice versa. I phoned concentrix the day I received the letter & they were able to tell me that on a recent credit check a males name has come up & it was my ex-husband. The only thing I can think of is that my daughter needed a new phone & he got it to my address - that was about 3 months back and the letter states they want documents from April until the end of September ?? I am just distracted about it.

Hawaiiturtle101 · 22/10/2015 13:27

Yes I'm distracted about it too as I get the impression that concentrix make a final decision based on something they don't like on bank statements etc whether it proves them right or wrong. Mine too is from April till end of September. I've got money coming in from him to my account but I shall fight that if they have a problem with it as it's for the children and maintenance is not to be taken into account for tax credits. I get the odd bit of financial help from my parents but have every intention of declaring this on my next tax return..They help with my gas bills etc and it goes through my bank. It's the waiting game now...I can't be bothered to ring them when I hear of being on hold for 50 minutes then being cut off..I'd be livid by the time I got through. I've photocopied the tax credit front envelope that came with someone else's name on so am going to send that too as I returned that to sender in August but took a photo of it just incase it's that which has triggered an investigation.

Georgina64 · 22/10/2015 19:54

Ive also received a letter today..I am going to ignore it. Has anyone else ignored it. I rather not have tax credits than go through this. If anyone else has ignore the letter can they post their outcome? Or has anyone been penalised. I am trying hard not to let this get to me. Which is hard. I just want to wake up tomorrow and not have it on my mind.

KatharineClifton · 22/10/2015 19:58

They will ask for repayment of the whole Tax Credits amount you were paid for the period they are investigating Georgina64

What have they asked for? Let us help you on here, do not ignore it.

KatharineClifton · 22/10/2015 20:01

Actually, they won't ask, they will take it out of your wages at source.

Georgina64 · 22/10/2015 20:05

They have said that they have information that suggests there might be another person linked to you or your address between 06 April 2015 to 15 Oct 2015. My friend has stayed with me on and off during the summer or Im thinking it might be my eldest son who opened a bank account.
