Camtoe it's a fact that they don't rush themselves but they do reach a decision in the end. Everyone's circumstances are different but on the whole the outcome is good. It's the not knowing that's awful I spent three months without tax credits it went to appeal in the end which I won but it took ages, please try not to worry too much if they said a decision will be made on Monday it might be better to ring in the afternoon or on Tuesday. Good luck x

Hi everyone - im glad I have found others going through the same as me!

My communication with concentrix has been going on since the beginning of May. I also completed my HMRC renewal on 30th April and still not heard back! Concentrix - i sent my 'evidence' that I am not in fact lying about my childcare costs back to them on 30th May 2015 and then not returned to me until 10th July 2015 after hours on hold trying to chase them up! After still hearing no word and the HMRC still unable to tell me when my renewal will be done i decide to give Concentrix a call a couple of weeks ago. The lady on the phone told me they had sent me a letter at the end of July asking for more 'evidence' of my costs for one of my providers (which i am sure was all in the original stuff i sent) but anyway to save time I asked my childminder straight away if she could do it for me - which she did. So today i am still waiting for this letter to arrive so i decide to give them a call conscious they will think I am ignoring them. To then be told that it is too late to submit any more evidence and he will pass my case on to the decision team today and ensure a decision is made this afternoon. So now I am panicking that they won't have enough evidence and stop my text credits and as I pay ?200 a week in childcare I cannot afford for this to happen! Has anyone else been through a similar situation and everything turn out ok? Just to help me put my mind at rest and sleep tonight!

KatharineClifton · 18/08/2015 15:00

I kinda feel that its mostly single mums that are targeted... why is that?

Because we are easy targets. We are most likely to be claiming tax credits and to be continuing to do so, so they can reclaim anything they like from us.

I'm still waiting for a decision and find it unbelievable they can just ask for evidence (self-employed) I wasn't asked to keep on outset of claim, and threaten to take a whole year of tax credits back. But of course it is all too believable as this is what will happen if they don't accept what evidence I've been able to send. And to keep me waiting for months not knowing if the money will be there one week to the next, while they pussy foot around doing who knows what?!

Doodles2310 · 18/08/2015 16:40

Got my no change letter today, it only took 12 weeks of stress... stupid tax credits.

Dollygem · 19/08/2015 08:24

Well after payment finally going in last Thursday and being told everything was back up and running I've checked my bank today to find no payment from tax credits, so it's either one of two things...... Because last weeks went in on Thursday they have changed my payment day to a Thursday (it's always been Wednesday) or they are playing silly boggers again! Just tried to ring and got the automated message saying they are too busy to answer my call! Also rang concentrix about my mandatory reconsideration on Monday to be told there is a back log and they have till 15th sept to make a decision! Angry

Doodles2310 · 19/08/2015 13:50

This whole check thing is a handling, I think their only doing it to put us off claiming. It's a nightmare and I wish I didn't need them. They don't care how much pressure they are putting on families or how many children are left without healthy meals when the benifits are stopped. How did David Cameron get voted in again?

MissE84 · 21/08/2015 18:13

Had an increase child tax credit getting 3.17p more on my payments today, looks like my award has been finalised for 2015-16 so just waiting for my award to come.

Stompylongnose · 21/08/2015 18:50

I received my tax credit award for 2015-2016 yesterday but haven't had any money for 2.5 weeks now. I called Concentrix today wanting to know what was going on with the reconsideration because I need money for school shoes and food. No maintenance/wages until the 1st September so shitting it quite a bit. (At least bills went out on the 5th so nothing will bounce this month)
They promised a callback so Ill Have to chase them up tomorrow (sigh...) this is the second time they stopped my money in 2 months. I am so pusses off.AngryAngryAngry

Stompylongnose · 25/08/2015 14:38

Still no money despite case being closed since last Friday. Angry
Apparently it takes a week (!!) for Concentrix to tell HMRC to reinstate my money. They owe me 4 weeks of payments and I need to buy school shoes before next Thursday. Had to beg ex to have kids for a few extra days because I can't feed them properly without money and don't get paid until next Tuesday. I've done nothing wrong but been treated like a fucking criminal. God knows how much money has been wasted by the government chasing little old me who is following the rules. Multiply that by the millions forced to claim, the cost must be astronomical. I bet hardly any money has been claimed back.

RadioTimesCE · 25/08/2015 15:56

Hi all,

Just a quick question. Does anyone know if you get a compliance letter, can they access your medical records? Or do they access your medical records and something in them may cause you send you a compliance letter?

I really don't know why there's all this worrying and complaining.

Comply with the checks, if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to worry about.

KatharineClifton · 27/08/2015 23:11

Oh wow, IDS is on Mumsnet! Hallelujah, we are all saved Grin

fedupbutfine · 28/08/2015 14:23

I had a request for childcare receipts from the HMRC in April. I have this week received a final letter which accepted everything I sent them and my calculations. I have also finally received my tax credit renewal - I owed them £70 for the year (I had worked it out to be about £100) as I had ignored a very small childcare change (to the tune of £3.75 a week which resulted in an even smaller change to what tax credits give me) earlier in the year with the intention of sorting it at renewal. I didn't phone them once - I had sent the letter and childcare paper work next day delivery and checked that it had been signed for and just left it. it's a long haul, that's for sure!

hope it all works out for everybody. Can't wait to see what happens next year!

Morgan97 · 01/09/2015 06:28

Hi dolly sorry for the late reply, did you manage to sort your money out? They changed my payment day to Tuesday instead of Thursday when they eventually sorted my claim out. Stompylongnose did they sort your money out in the end? They never rush themselves its so bloody annoying. KatherineClifton love your comment yes there's always one who knows better that everyone else isn't there ha ha

Hi Everyone! Hope you all have had some great news as I can see less messages on this page. Hope summer holiday was relaxing. I had a great summer great to be back to reality and having this shit all sorted.

unpopular1 · 04/09/2015 14:23

If you only you knew... ha :P

unpopular1 · 04/09/2015 14:27

There's alot of unecessary complainaing here. When you sign up to tax credits you're subject to routine checks. The money isn't just handed out based on what you say I'd imagine you could understand this.

I don't get why there's so much bad press and bad publicity based on an outside company checking to make sure your claim is correct. End of the day, don't sign up to tax credits if you don't agree with the compliance checks.

Morgan97 · 04/09/2015 15:08

Everyone is entitled to their opinion it's the way they go about the checks that's the problem!

Dollygem · 05/09/2015 00:19

Hi Morgan yes finally got money sorted last week, it was all to do with them having the wrong bank details and they wanted to check everything had gone in to the right one before they carried on with payments so touch wood I'm back up and running, three weeks behind with bills but that's nothing compared to some of you lovely lot and what you have all been through. As for unnecessary complaining I think you'd be complaining too if most of your personal documents had been sent off to a company to which has got a lot of bad press and nobody had hardly even heard of and you were the one sat waiting for it to return, we all know we can be checked at any point, it's not just renewal time they do them, why do you think we keep our paperwork! Yes there are some people who claim wrongfully and this is why these checks are done but all of us on this board are hard working people just trying to keep our family's afloat and these letters we have received have come across quite harsh and made a lot of us feel that we have done something wrong even though we haven't, and the longer they take to sort it and get our personal documents back to us the more the doubt and worry grows, so don't be so quick to judge.

Morgan97 · 05/09/2015 07:00

Pleased its all sorted for you Dolly. And as for the rest of your post well I couldn't have put it better myself. It's nice to see that there's less posts on here now hopefully everyone's sorted now

No money for me yet.
They owe me 6 weeks of money. It's Concentrix that's fucking things up here because they haven't told HMRC to reinstate my payments "correctly" so HMRC have no idea to pay me again.

Just so furious. I haven't done anything fraudulent but paid bank for statements, recorded delivery and dozens of calls. Had to beg ex to pay for school shoes and nearly cried when the self service machine at Morrisons gave me a £5 voucher. It's a nightmare how I was guilty until proved innocent and now they are witholding what my children are entitled to. Are they going to be doing this again next year? The stress is unbearable. I can;t wait to have a proper meal (I am eating and the kids have normal food so don't worry) without worrying about the cost of me eating.

Morgan97 · 08/09/2015 12:37

Hi stompy have you called anyone again,I went without my money for 14 weeks it was a total nightmare so I know what you're going through. Don't let up with them as they don't rush themselves, you've been told everything's ok you shouldn't have to wait any longer especially as its their fault. Pleased you and the kids are at least eating properly. Get back on to them ask to speak to a manager if you don't get the answers you want. Good luck.

Unpopular1- I do not object to compliance checks.
I do object to the process and timescales not being published. There is no accountability either.
If my water was shut off due to maintenance works, they would contact every household with the date, time and company doing the work.
Concentrix (like many government departments) seem to take the attitude of it'll happen when it happens. They have made many mistakes during the process and can not tell me when I can expect each stage to happen.
I would expect them to be delayed around the Tax Credit 31 July deadline but as a third party contractor they should have been forced to hire extra staff by HMRC.
They seemed to have sent a letter to all claimants (including single parents like myself) and been shocked that everyone replied to them. The cost to them and myself has been considerable and guess what - I am not claiming fraudulently!

Stompylongnose · 08/09/2015 14:47

Morgan97 I talked to them again today. i am currently calling them 2 or 3 times a week- fuck knows how much each call costs. Angry
