I posted a while back about my investigation for working the 30 hours I claimed as a self employed person. I didn't have the documents they requested (time sheets/contracts etc) as I work for myself doing 3 different types of job.
I called to explain, wrote a very long letter detailing why my working hours might vary as a single mum of 3 running 3 businesses, then I made a note (just scribbled in a notebook) of what I did every day for the next few weeks. I included photos of some of my work to show what I'd been doing.
It included things like:
checked emails, replied to customer enquiries, printed orders off, 1 hour.
went to bank, bought stock 1 hour.
spent 2 hours on main job.
after tea checked emails and sorted some invoices 1/2 hour. etc.
After a few weeks I had my documents returned and a letter to say they were satisfied with my claim and wouldn't be changing it.
I must say after all the horror stories on here I wasn't optimistic so it was a nice surprise; I was fully expecting to be told they would stop paying the 30 hour element and treat me as part time, which tbh I wish I was!
Anyway, I hope that gives some hope to others in the same boat or similar - if you bombard them with information they will see that you won't take it lying down and hopefully move on. If they do continue with the investigation then there is loads of good advice on here. Good luck all
