Soooo I have some (poor quality) EWCM this morning. I’m cd14 from bleeding when miscarriage started. I wonder what is going on! There’s no way I’m ovulating as I was positive on a test a few days ago

Mellous · 01/02/2021 11:51

Oh my gosh I cant believe some of these MIL stories!! Mine said something similar about lockdown to my husband - honestly!

I think I ovulated this weekend.. used some OPKs to confirm. This was just short of 3 weeks post surgery. So I guess I'm technically in the TWW now. Anyone else?! I'm not holding out much hope, but it's nice to know my body is returning to normal.

Seasalt1984 · 01/02/2021 12:54

@mellous that's exciting potentially being in a new tww!! I think I ovulated quite soon after MC but haven't tracked this month. I think I'm due on, 4 weeks today post procedure. Feeling a little impatient for it to start now! Hopefully my first tww is coming up after AF. I'm sooo glad it's Feb, feels like moving into something new and positive after a really tricky new year x

Summersun001 · 01/02/2021 13:03

@Ralala I’ve been tracking my ovulation as wel and mine was out by days! And my EWCM has been all over the shop too. I guess it’s where hormones are settling?

Hi @Mellous :) I’m in the tww too. AF due next Monday. Second cycle after miscarriage though. We did try first cycle but wasn’t successful, I don’t think we tried at the right times though. Just wasn’t in the mood.

@Seasalt1984 I had a natural mc but was exactly four weeks to the day! So fingers crossed for you. I’m with you on the new month! Hopefully things will start to become a little brighter xx

Mellous · 01/02/2021 13:10

@Seasalt1984 agree, so pleased to see the back of January!! Hope AF comes soon for you so you can have a fresh new cycle.. also another sign of your body returning to normal!

Seasalt1984 · 01/02/2021 15:01

@summersun001 @mellous Thanks, really does feel like something to look forward to! Sending you both lots of positive vibes for your TWW. Each cycle is one closer to the outcome we want xx

SuzieDeLaTour · 01/02/2021 19:09

@glowingtwig aww I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing all that 😟 not what you need after everything you’ve been through. I had pins and needles and numbness in my hands every night after giving birth and it lasted for a long time. The doc said it was carpal tunnel syndrome which I wasn’t really buying! I do notice I get it around my period now so I’m convinced it’s hormone related. I hope you find some answers and try not to worry - it’s come right after your body has been through physical and emotional stress so it’s very likely to be related!

SuzieDeLaTour · 01/02/2021 19:11

@Mellous oh that’s exciting you’ve ovulated! I’m still confused what’s going on down below - I think I’ll be grateful for my period just to feel like everything has kicked back in and I know what the heck is going on 😂

SuzieDeLaTour · 01/02/2021 19:14

I had a bit of a rubbish day today. The cashier in the supermarket told me she was expecting her first grandchild, due around the time I would have been due. She was so excited she stopped me in the aisle to tell me (I see her a lot when shopping and always stop to talk to her so it’s not as random as it sounds!!) and while it’s so lovely for her and her family, it made me feel so sad! I could feel my eyes filling up, luckily managed to hold it in until I got back into the car and then I bawled like a baby!! 😭😭 I would have been 13 weeks now and telling people so it was a reminder of what isn’t going to be I guess xx

Scottishskifun · 01/02/2021 19:32

@SuzieDeLaTour I understand exactly how you are feeling my friend has just told me today she is expecting (another one that my son plays with at nursery). I immediately welled up and just thought why me and I'm now going to be seeing her most days at nursery pick up. Sad

I need to find ways to just let it go and not get upset it's going to happen repeatedly I don't have the foggiest how to do that though!

Ralala · 01/02/2021 20:05

It’s so hard. So so hard xx

AMS19 · 01/02/2021 20:14

@Pettylamby massive congratulations on the FRER

@SuzieDeLaTour oh I'm so sorry!! It's bloody awful isn't it. Well done for holding it together for as long as you could. You will get your time I promise!!

@Summersun001 what a lovely message. This is definitely showing the best is us and how amazingly we can support each other which is lovely! I'm so excited for happy stories

Well ladies...period arrived today! I can't quite believe I'm writing this! A month yesterday since my MVA. We had been having sex so a small part of me feels disappointed not to catch, but a bigger part is so relieved to get a period and be in a "clean" cycle! Hopefully this will now push the FRER to negative from being a squinter. So officially CD1 for me and time to start tracking again. Based on my old cycle, valentines day we will be going for it like a pair of loved up teenagers 😂😂

SuzieDeLaTour · 01/02/2021 20:20

@AMS19 ahhh amazing news!!! Yay!!!! CD1 and the whole excitement / madness of TTC once again 😀 bet your DH is looking forward to Valentines Day! 🤣🤣 it’s good to know you can get your period while still showing slight positive on a FRER - that gives me hope!! Xx

AMS19 · 01/02/2021 20:26

@SuzieDeLaTour yeah absolutely my test still has a line so definitely hope!! Im banking on this period now pushing it to negative. All in all, a month to get a period is pretty good going. Hoping it picks up and gets heavier so I can have a good clear out and build a fresh new lining. Now I just have to hope it's true we are more fertile post a miscarriage and all my healthy eating, changes and supplements pay off 🤞🤞
Also...the OCD part of me is loving I'm CD1 on 1st of the month so my days will correspond with the date. And even more pleasing on a 28 day month! 😂😂 xx

Pettylamby · 01/02/2021 20:30

Ah yay @AMS19 so happy for you!!

Hopefully I won't be too far behind you!

Bring on CD1!!

Seasalt1984 · 01/02/2021 20:35

@ams19 that is great! Really pleased for you that you've reached this milestone! How are you feeling today? Hope you're feeling a bit brighter after tricky weekend. I'm with @pettylamby, hoping I'll be joining you very soon with AF 🤞 x

AMS19 · 01/02/2021 20:36

@Pettylamby if the FRER is negative hopefully you'll be right behind me!

AMS19 · 01/02/2021 20:37

Thanks @Seasalt1984 😊 definitely feeling okay. I would have prefer to be pregnant than a period but do think I would have been super anxious not having a period first so this feels more sensible. Just praying for a lovely cycle and a standard CD13/14 ovulation, thats only next week!

OP posts:
Mellous · 01/02/2021 20:41

@AMS19 yay!! Seems bizarre celebrating a period but just shows your body is doing what it’s supposed to and now you have a fresh new cycle. Roll on Valentine’s Day Wink!

Mellous · 01/02/2021 20:46

@Summersun001 fingers crossed for you for this month!!

CocoLoco88 · 01/02/2021 20:47

Hi everyone, just caught up with the last couple of days’ messages. Reeling at some of the MIL stories - wild, as somebody else said. 😒

So happy to hear people’s stories of things starting to return to normal (periods arriving, possible ovulation etc).

The EPU have told me quite vaguely to ‘take a pregnancy test’ on Friday to see whether I need to go in for a scan or not.

I see there’s quite a lot of info about different sorts of tests on here and I had a couple of (mega newbie) questions that maybe somebody could help me with...

What is an FRER? And I think I can imagine what a squinter is 😂 but what do they actually look like? What should I be looking for when I test on Friday and what sort of test should I use??

So many questions... 🤦‍♀️ x

AMS19 · 01/02/2021 20:50

Thanks @Mellous

@CocoLoco88 a FRER is a First Response Early Response. Its 6mlU so the most sensitive test. If you get a negative on that you're definitely not pregnant. So in terms of a squinter, I've attached mine from Saturday morning. You can see there is a line, so still positive, but faded and no colour to it, indicating very low levels of hcg. The stronger the hcg the darker the test line gets. Does that help?

Here is the test you should test with Friday xx

OP posts:
Mellous · 01/02/2021 20:54

@CocoLoco88 hey! FRER is first response early results - it’s the most sensitive test you can do at home as it picks up low levels of the hcg hormone. If you get a negative on one of these you can be sure it’s a negative! A squinter would be a very faint line, but it will have some colour to it unlike an evap line which is usually grey/has no colour. Maybe try a first response but don’t worry if it’s still slightly positive, as I say they are super sensitive, just try again a week later x

Scottishskifun · 01/02/2021 21:28

@AMS19 again teaching me something new! I haven't done any tests wasn't even told to by EPU either!
Thanks though have ordered some and will test in a week or two Smile

Good news on being able to start with a fresh lining etc.
I have no idea how long it will take for my period to return or how long my cycles will be. They have ranged from 28 days to 48 days as I was extended BF til November when my milk dried up due to the pregnancy.
