good luck flen for today.

brummie I can so understand how you feel. as long as you do what you feel is right for you and your baby that is all that matters.xx

sebsmummy1 · 05/08/2015 07:02

Brummie my Doula was amazing, it might be something you want to consider. They are not just for home births, mine was at the hospital with me when I ended up birthing there instead (my Mother had a psychic reading two weeks before my EDD and off the back of that rang me whilst I was on my Babymoon and begged me to give birth in a hospital or else I would DIIIIIEEEEE.

bythesea82 · 05/08/2015 07:06

Good luck today sebs and flen xxx

fififolle · 05/08/2015 07:14

I've got my 12 week scan at 1.20pm. I've barely slept, getting really worried and haven't felt sick for the past few days.

Brummiegirl15 · 05/08/2015 07:27

Lots of 12 weeks scan today!! Flen Sebs and Fifi I will be anxiously refreshing. Hand holding for you all!!

Suddenly realised not done my stats.....

Me 38, DP 46
Ttc#1
3 mc's @ 5 weeks, 9 weeks and 9 weeks both with ERPC's.

Went to Coventry and saw the ace Prof B who prescribed progesterone from 7 dpo plus clexane. I also had low uNK cells which was good.

Had all other tests, totally clear

Had a hysteroscopy, showed nothing. My lovely consultant Mr Watts was very happy to follow Coventry and told me to crack on.

Now 14 weeks pregnant on our first attempt after a forced 4 month wait and still can't quite believe we are this far.

Stopped the progesterone at exactly 14 weeks and still on clexane but now all being well, only until 20 weeks. Also on a shag ban until 20 weeks and been having scans for a dodgy cervix which currently at 4cm is behaving itself but 3 more scans to go by 21 weeks work are going to love me

So that's me!

Emerald72 · 05/08/2015 07:30

Best of luck today to sebs flen and fififolle everything crossed for everyone

twilightstruggle · 05/08/2015 07:34

Good luck today Sebs, FiFi and Flen. Xxx

Emerald72 · 05/08/2015 07:36

Oh yeah got to do my stats

Me 43, DP 38
DS 2
1mc aug 14 5wks
2mmc dec 14 10 wks measured 6wks no hb seen ERPC
3mmc June 15 5 wks ERPC results showed downs and Trisomy 15 was a girl.
Currently having tests at St Marys with Mr Rai and due to see Dr Shehata on 24 Aug. NHS is sept. Got to have saline scan after next period and want to go to Coventry too but our holiday is coming up end Aug.
Worried about age and all the risks that go with it and trying everything to improve egg quality

girliesaints · 05/08/2015 07:41

Good luck Sebs & fifi.

I have a doula not for birth but later
On when I was preparing to return to work when dd was 6 months old and wouldn't take a bottle (that's another story) wonderful women and would recommend to anyone for any aspect of childbirth or after care x

Marchgirl · 05/08/2015 07:42

Good luck today sebs, flen and fifi. I have everything crossed for you xxx

patienceisvirtuous · 05/08/2015 07:54

Thanks for new thread.

My stats:
Me, 37, DP, 28. Ttc #1 since Mar '14. 3MCs - 1 spontaneous at 6 weeks, 2MMC at 10 and 13 weeks (although both times baby didn't grow much past seven weeks).

Have d&c booked for Friday :(

Grim reality has kicked in now... All feels a bit surreal. Will just get Friday over with then speak to GP re referral to recurrent mc clinic.

Am a bit wet behind ears on this front. Will GP have to refer me to local one? I think private may be best option to save time...

Good luck to those having their scans today! And hope everyone else is doing well. Thanks again for the kind words and support x

patienceisvirtuous · 05/08/2015 07:56

Ps, anyone who has gone private, did you also go down NHS route simultaneously?

clairemorgan81 · 05/08/2015 08:08

good luck today sebs and fifi x

BumbleBee0 · 05/08/2015 08:12

Good luck flen, fifi and sebs for your scans today.
sebs hope you can brave a peak at your little one on screen...Smile

brummie completely understandable that you're worried about the birth. I agree that you may become more positive further down the line (like once you start getting booted by baby Wink) and may be more open to vb. I also recommend hypnobirthing CDs. Vb can be a very empowering experience and it is possible to feel 'in control' to some degree. But whatever you decide, it will be the right choice.

patience that seems a bit of wait until Friday. Are you off work til then? I hope you're taking it easy and being looked after. Flowers x

patience yes I've gone down private route to save time as I'm 43, wait was about 6wks, I would phone up and book in now if you decide that's the route to take. My NHS app is not till sept it took 3 months to even get that (ERPC was June 23) so I'm still going to do it to be in their system but really it's just a box tick now.
Sorry you have to wait till Friday for op is that NHS too? I was kept waiting for ages with MC 2 as there just wasn't enough beds, and in end was so scared of natural MC I went private through my health insurance thank god. I would urge you to push for testing on this MC tell them before the op as this may give you some answers, it did me anyway and that's half the battle. Big hugs Flowers

patienceisvirtuous · 05/08/2015 08:49

They initially told me I couldn't have d&c for another three weeks!! I had to fight for Friday. I am worried I won't last that long, pregnancy failed about seven weeks ago! They were pretty much trying to steer me down med management route again, despite me saying I didn't want to - my experience at Christmas is still too fresh in my mind.

We have been treated like crap really, as per last time. Sonographer at dating scan went down my throat two seconds after bad news because I dated suggest I should have had another scan before now due to 7 week measurements being so far out of whack and saying I knew we'd get this result. I also got a biology lesson and lecture on my age :-/ seriously. I think I will complain later, when I can be bothered.
I think we will go private then. Tried to ring Dr Shehata's clinic a few times on Monday but couldn't get through. Will email. I'm based in Sunderland - is it feasible to travel to London or would people recommend trying to find somewhere closer?

Justonemoretime · 05/08/2015 09:04

Patience, that's outrageous! I'd definitely complain once you feel up to it. I find your treatment absolutely appalling!
Have you considered Coventry? Nearer than London and cheaper... hope you hold on until Friday and don't have to suffer even more trauma before then. xx

clairemorgan81 · 05/08/2015 09:11

patience that is just awful I would definitely complain once your feeling stronger. I can't believe how long they expect you to wait.
big hugs and lots of love for Fri.
I am based in Northumberland so not far from you, I considered Coventry as that's closer but still debating what to do x

BumbleBee0 · 05/08/2015 09:16

patience that sounds terrible! Definitely worth complaining once you're feeling up to it. Big hugs Flowers xxx

sasha I'm happy to be admin for the fb group too. Will pm you my details.

patienceisvirtuous · 05/08/2015 09:20

I don't know much about Coventry. When I was researching recurrent mc Dr Shehata's name was obviously cropping up and his success rates seem pretty good. I know he's a bit controversial.

Who is the consultant at Cov?

We don't have lots of savings, bought a house earlier this year which depleted us! We can fork out for the tests though then I guess we'd better start saving like mad for potential future treatments!

Justonemoretime · 05/08/2015 09:27

Google profs Brosens and Quenby. The cost of Coventry is £360 all in; all treatment is then NHS and further consultations are phone/email. Lots of us on this thread attribute our successful pgs to Coventry.

clairemorgan81 · 05/08/2015 09:35

sorry for jumping in but what tests get done initially at Coventry- ive had the nhs tests so are there additional ones that nhs dont do?xx

bootles · 05/08/2015 09:35

Good luck sebs, flen and fifi

Justonemoretime · 05/08/2015 09:39

Coventry do the uterine biopsy and scratch. Your GP can order most other clotting and thyroid tests. Only St Mary's, London do the TEG test and Prof Shetata does blood nk cells.
