Good scan vibes to Fifi, Flen and Sebs.

clairemorgan81 · 05/08/2015 09:44

just do you know if it would just the one appointment then? Sorry for all the questions x

Justonemoretime · 05/08/2015 09:50

Claire, yes, you attend once in person and everything else is done over email and a phone consultation to discuss results. You get a letter with a treatment plan, which you arrange locally. If your local services won't honour the plan, you can attend Coventry for follow up, but usually they take the Coventry recommendations seriously and go along with them. I always took my letter along, just in case and got my GP to write to a local services consultant just so I would have everything in place in advance.

Justonemoretime · 05/08/2015 09:52

Some local services are more supportive than others, but hopefully you can find someone closer than Coventry to do location and reassurance scans, and prescribe the meds. x

Flen · 05/08/2015 10:07

patience I think there's also someone at Liverpool who might be worth looking into, think it's Gazvani? Used to work with Quenby then went separate ways. Might be worth a google.

Thanks for all the good wishes, feeling oddly calm, although the fear usually hits an hour or so before..,

Minnie74 · 05/08/2015 10:35

Good luck with the scans sebs flen and fifi

Getting total scanxiety here for tomorrow. Bit of nausea kicking in which I didn't get last MC so hoping it's going ok but still preparing for the worst.

clairemorgan81 · 05/08/2015 10:39

thanks very Much for info just.x

bootles · 05/08/2015 10:54

patience sorry about your bad treatment - the way the sonographer reacted sounds appalling, and I am really surprised they didn't do another scan a week after the first which showed so behind for dates. Its dreadful that you were left for so long fearing the worst, but with no way of finding out xx

Minnie early hand holding for tomorrow!

Claire if Coventry need to see you again they will for no extra charge - the plan was for me to return for another uterine scratch, (after the last mc whilst under them) if I didn't get pg, but on the last month before that I conceived this one.

mrsb0710 · 05/08/2015 11:12

patience the treatment you've had is disgusting. Perhaps when you're mentally ready, you can complain. I work in NHS and issues such as this need to be highlighted.

I spoke to Dr Shehatas clinic today. Most definitely too expensive for us.
Coventry is next on the list and it seems you get more for what you spend.
Now, I just need the GP to do my bloods.

sasha I'll PM about facebook if that's ok.

Good luck to the scans today!

kbbeanie · 05/08/2015 11:36

Can i join as well. Will try to catch up and follow the thread !

My Stats

Age 24 was diagnosed with endometriosis via laproscopy Feb 14
DS1 born Beginning 2012
TTC since Sept 14
MC at 5-6 weeks - April 2015
MC at approx 6 weeks - August 2015 (had emergency surgery suspected ectopic pregnancy but they didnt find anything and ive since MC myself.

Unsure what to do now...sometimes i think i want to get trying again immediately (still have to get more hcg levels taken so it would be another little while before we started ttc) and if we have to go through it all again then we will have the 3MC required for NHS referral :(
But on another hand i dont know if i can go through it again...i feel guilty for my DS that for the past 3 months or more all he has seen is his mum ill...and the latest MC has been a lot harder physically....mentally im not sure its even hit me yet this time although i was kind of prepared for it to happen.

Hope this is a lucky thread for us all

sebsmummy1 · 05/08/2015 11:38

I'm here, everything is ok.

I don't know loads of stuff as I elected not to know or see, but what I do know is that the nuchal measurement is excellent and the baby looks perfect. I think I'm around 12 and a half weeks but she didn't give me an exact date. I also don't have a EDD but the midwife has said 12th Feb according to my last scan.

I have my Harmony blood test this evening and I should know the results of my Combined screening in a weeks time.

I did get two photos and I have looked at them. I shall have to compare them to DS's 12 weeks scan photos but it looks like a baby to me!!! Grin

Justonemoretime · 05/08/2015 11:41

Grin Grin Sebs!

clairemorgan81 · 05/08/2015 11:41

ahh great news seb I bet you are so relieved.

can I ask what a uterine scratch if you don't mind me asking?x

Justonemoretime · 05/08/2015 11:46

Claire, it does exactly what it says on the tin, and irritates the lining to make it thicker for up to three cycles afterwards. Smile

clairemorgan81 · 05/08/2015 12:27

have many of you found the uterine scratch successful?x

Flen · 05/08/2015 12:31

sebs that is really, really fab. Well done for getting through til this point and I am so so pleased for you xxx

cloudjumper · 05/08/2015 12:38

sebs That is brilliant, so happy for you!

Justonemoretime · 05/08/2015 12:44

Claire, quite a few of us have. Its a side benefit of having the biopsy to check for uNK cells. Many ladies conceive within 3 months. It took me 7, so I can't say the scratch helped me, but it does thicken the lining, which is beneficial.

hello everyone i have just found out that I'm vitamin b12 deficient i have been feeling really tired.... i have started the treatment of 5 jabs in 2 weeks. i have also been reading that there is a link to recurrent miscarriages any experience?

thanks k

mrsdiddlydoo · 05/08/2015 13:32

great scan news sebs Looking forward to a hat trick today ladies. Thinking of you all.

Another pom pom waver here for Coventry. As I only have had 2 mc and don't 'qualify' for nhs help yet we weighed up our options. Decided we couldn't afford to go completely private, but saw Prof B at Coventry for the scratch and after results showed my uNK cells were ok, got a BFP in the 1st cycle and I'm sure the progesterone and clexane have helped plant this one in. Almost 21 weeks. I felt like I couldn't sit around waiting for a 3rd mc and although I know it could just have been our turn this time I'm happy with the choice we made.

Welcome new faces... we seem to have had quite a few lately.

Patience I wish your experience was a one off that other ladies haven't experienced or won't in future, but we hear about poor practice within the nhs regularly on here. Will be thinking of you on Friday.

I am reading, but struggling to keep up with you chatty bunch. Will try harder later.

Stats:

34, dh 33, DS 2.5, 2mc in 2014 between 10 and 11+5 weeks. Went to Coventry and following their protocol for normal Unk cells I'm currently 20+6 weeks pregnant.

mrsb0710 · 05/08/2015 13:58

So the hospital consultant has recommended a TORCH test. Dr Google.com tells me that its to screen for certain infections, but may not be a great diagnostic tool.

What confuses me is that they will do this at hospital, but I still need to push my GP for other routine bloods eg clotting as I've 'only' had 2 mcs.
And they still say they're not linked. Bit frustrated is all.
Still going to see what comes back and try to save for Coventry. Seems like I need another opinion.

I know I may not get answers, but I just want a bit more support.

thank you just for your time and info. I am going to speak to dh tonight. he will need convincing I think. we live in newcaste so its a trek but I would do anything. my only main worry other than getting round dh is if I get a treatment plan not getting supported locally? is it worth asking gp or mc consultant?x

Justonemoretime · 05/08/2015 14:03

Mrsb, I've had the torch test, its useful to know your toxoplasmosis status as if you've had it you can't get it again so many of the cat and pink meat dangers are gone for future pgs.
