Oh brummie that's great news, so pleased for you!

Welcome claire and vicki, and sorry to hear what you've been through. this is a great thread, full of wise and supportive women.

Brummiegirl15 · 20/07/2015 14:30

It took ages firstly because I got the time wrong, it was actually 9.40 rather than 9.15 so already had to wait 25 mins.

Then they took ages scanning me and making sure they could get the measurement, then had to do bloods (not sure how long they take) then my sister wanted me to bleep her and she rocked up in her scrubs after delivering two babies already by 10.30

Took forever until we actually left!!!

Bubblybubbles80 · 20/07/2015 15:25

hi, i finally got my RMC appointment in august after my 3rd m/c in may, not sure what to expect any ideas?

Minnie74 · 20/07/2015 15:59

Yay! Brill news brummie and good news on the downs too. Grin

Welcome claire and vicki so sorry for your losses and that you have to be here but it's a lovely thread full of lovely ladies.

bubbly from what I can remember it was mainly a long chat and taking of history and then being sent for bloods taking (which annoyingly my clinic messed up so I had to go back a week later!) I think the results of the bloods took about 6 weeks and I went back to discuss them then. I'd write down any questions you might have though. I did and I still forgot to ask some of them! Good luck with it all x

Lots of cramping today which is freaking me out but trying to ignore it and am putting all my faith in the progesterone!!!

fififolle · 20/07/2015 16:02

Welcome Claire sort that you find yourself here but you have found the most fantastic support network. Flowers
bythesea my booking appointment went well, thank you. I saw the same student midwife as at my first appt a few weeks ago and has asked me if she can use me as a case study and follow me right through delivery. I was really pleased as she's lovely and I get great continuity of care. My BP is already quite low (95/65) so I'll have to remember to drink lots of water. I have my 12 week scan booked. I confessed to having a private scan and they were really pleased for me.

Bubblybubbles80 · 20/07/2015 16:15

thanks minnie74, i feel anxious do they do the bloods on the day ?
hope your cramping calms down.

bootles · 20/07/2015 16:28

brummie brilliant news!!!! I am soooo pleased for you. Argh at extra waiting. Great on the nuchal, all very good signs!

bubbly as minnie says, they will talk through your history, probably talk about possible causes, perhaps set your expectations and tell you that in 50 percent of cases no cause is found, and take lots of blood (thyroid, clotting) and posibly get you back in another 6 weeks for another clotting if they do the TEG clotting test (they take 2 values as just one can be meaningless) I think not everywhere does the TEG though. Good luck.

minnie I have had always had loads of cramping early on - including ds, and pg's that got further than the first few weeks. Had it in this one too. Try not to panic (impossible I know)

Minnie74 · 20/07/2015 16:30

bubbly yes, they did the bloods on the day, after we'd finished discussing my history. The letter said my Dh should go too as he might need tests but in the end they didn't do any on him. I was also told the results of testing we had done on MC3 at the first appointment- not sure if you're having that done though. Everyone, especially the nurses, was very nice so try not to worry too much. X

Minnie74 · 20/07/2015 16:31

Thanks bootles!

mrsdiddlydoo · 20/07/2015 16:49

Brilliant news brummie

Welcome Claire and Vicki we're a chatty bunch but don't let that put you off getting stuck in.

Marchgirl · 20/07/2015 16:54

Good to hear from you again bubbly and good luck for your appointment. I think in most cases they do the blood tests on the day, a few places they do them before and the appt is for results, but if you haven't been told that, you'll probably have them on the day. If there is a chance they will do karyotyping on you and your dh then he will need to have blood taken too. I managed to persuade them to do this test because the embryo for mc 3 didn't give a result (normal nhs policy these days is no karyotyping on parents unless the embryo suggests a problem). You might also be given a date for a scan to look for any abnormalities in your uterus (or they may just do this on the day as well). Glad they have finally given you an appt so you can get the ball rolling.

Marchgirl · 20/07/2015 17:01

minnie, hand holding lovely. I can't set your mind at ease because I'm having the exact same fear today with bad cramping. It's scary. Hoping it's nothing for you though.

Scan booked for 31st July when I will be 6+3 if it hasn't already gone. They initially booked it for 11th august but have been set straight now as that wouldn't have been much use for a location scan.

sebsmummy1 · 20/07/2015 17:02

bubbly in Hitchinbrooke it was called a quiet room clinic for some reason and because they had found out what was wrong in my particular case it felt very surreal and I cried a lot. My partner came with me and we went straight off for lots and lots of bloods straight after, some genetic, some for clotting issues and other things that can cause MC, but everything thankfully came back normal. Took 6 weeks for the results and they were sent to me by post.

Teach3 · 20/07/2015 17:02

Brummie that is fantastic news xx

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 20/07/2015 17:28

Welcome to Claire and Vicki and sorry for your losses. You'll find lots of support and advice on here. Vicki how old are you?

And lastly...,,Brummie yay!!!!! Brilliant news so pleased for you GrinWineGrin

Belleende · 20/07/2015 18:35

Fab news brummie. Nice time of year to have a babbie. Just as the snowdrops are blooming.
loopy you must be devastated. I hope you get the time and space to hunker down for a while.
march have fingers crossed for you.
x

IFinishedTheBiscuits · 20/07/2015 18:46

Congratulations Brummie.

Sorry Loopy. Are you taking progesterone from CD21? Wondering if it might be the progesterone causing lining to be more selective. Or going too far and acting as a contraceptive?

March, sorry you're worried. And Minnie.

A friend of mine had an early scan in third pregnancy after two miscarriages when she lost all symptoms for a week, and her baby was fine. Don't think symptoms are an exact science.

Sebs, my first DS was born at Hinchingbrooke. The midwife was horrible. Some lovely ones but I ended up with a witch. Think she's still knocking about. Wish I'd complained at the time.

Erica21 · 20/07/2015 18:55

Hi ladies, just bundling in a bit late to add my stats, dropped my bloody phone down the loo two weeks ago so have been completely off radar Shock

Me 32, DH 34
DS 3
MMC at 12 wk scan July 14
2nd MC at 9.5 wks, Oct 14, hematoma

Currently 16+3 preg and only taking preg vits. A bit nervous in general throughout this preg so far, hoping I start to relax a bit more, but 5 more weeks til anomaly scan, so til then I don't think I'll be that relaxed!

Brummie fab scan news hun, really pleased for you! My due date is 1st Jan Wink they took over half hour on my nuchal measurement, including jumping up and down which wasn't that glamorous!

loopy sending you big hugs for a completely shitty time x

Flen · 20/07/2015 19:02

minnie and march I am literally lying on the sofa panicking about cramps right now. Here's solidarity, if not actual comfort...

sebsmummy1 · 20/07/2015 19:43

Is it mad that I feel guilty that I'm going to let the thread down on Friday when I have my scan and get bad news? It's really worrying me Sad

bakingtins · 20/07/2015 19:48

sebs you are not going to get bad news, but if you did it would not be letting anyone down. We all passed the 'pregnancy is hearts and flowers and fluffy bunny rabbits la la la' stage several MC ago! We are all here for each other in good times and in bad.

brummie delighted with your news!

welcome newbies Smile

Boozle80 · 20/07/2015 19:56

Just marking my place :)

Minnie74 · 20/07/2015 20:02

sebs I really think your scan is going to be fine. I've got a good feeling about this one for you-it's your sticky one I think!

flen urgh it's such a worry isn't it. Trying to remember TIAP and not worry till I really need to like Friday when my danger week starts

march how are you feeling?

loopy thinking of you x

I'm worrying that Prof B/Q has only prescribed me 200mg of prog twice a day not 400mg. Is that what everyone else is on? Wondering whether to email them and ask why and maybe ask about the clexane as well. I feel like I'm not even getting their standard protocol and I've no idea why?! Maybe it's because my last loss was 99% chromosomal?

Huge hugs and lots of Cake and Wine for anyone having a black day today xx
