A Manchester Meet up?

MerlinsBeard · 08/02/2010 11:08

Seems there a few Manchester MNers who would like a meet up.

I know the SHineys are having one but feels wrong to gate crash if we haven;t posted!!

I am not volunteering to organise one, just starting a thread so other people can

I am far to lazy and likely to change my mind to do that!!

It says on the website that they have room for buggies, though I suspect they didn't have us in mind when they said that

MissMarjoribanks · 05/03/2010 20:19

Suwoo - one of your smaller ones! I can only entertain the idea of having one buggy, though it does have many parts So many in fact, my dad christened it the pram 'complex'.

MissMarjoribanks · 05/03/2010 20:20

Insert missing full stop in appropriate place. .

whyme2 · 05/03/2010 20:32

I am a reformed pramaholic and dh has whittled me down to one small one. (but I am still looking)

thanks for the gin - tis very welcome after today.

MrsChemist · 05/03/2010 20:49

I have calvados as well (I was making apple tart)

bilblio · 05/03/2010 20:49

No high chairs needed here, for me or my mate.

She'll have a pram, I won't. DD will be most unimpressed if I decide she's going in the buggy.
I envy those mum's who push contented 3yo's around.

whenskiesaregrey · 05/03/2010 21:37

Hello!! DS will probably go in a high chair, but if there are none left he can stay in the buggie as long as he can see everyone. He's a nosy so-and-so

YanknCock · 05/03/2010 23:11

Settled for me then, I will bring DS in the front carrier and hold him on lap, so long as I have volunteers to hold him when I need a wee!

Am I a complete nerd for wondering if we're going to do nametags or anything? Shall I introduce myself as Yank or RL name? Actually scrap that, I'll say my RL name and my accent will be a dead giveaway.

Divatheshopaholic · 05/03/2010 23:24

is it only for facebook users meet up?
i dont do facebook im ancient. i wondered if i can turn up

suwoo · 06/03/2010 08:39

Of course Diva. The fb thing was just to 'see' each other and chat a bit before hand.

MrsChemist · 06/03/2010 10:14

I was wondering about name tags. If it wouldn't take all day we could play guess who.

I think I may struggle not referring to people by username

whenskiesaregrey · 06/03/2010 10:37

ooh name tags makes it more scary for me!! Dont know why!

MrsChemist · 06/03/2010 10:53

Nametags are waaaaaay too much hassle methinks.

suwoo · 06/03/2010 10:58

I had a thought but it was thwarted by my lack of printer.....

I wanted to print off one of those fanjo's for us each and we could write our names on them

At the last meetup I went to we had name cards on the tables, it was pretty neccessary really as I still wasnt entirely sure who was who.

MrsChemist · 06/03/2010 11:04

Hmmm... I do have a printer, but we don't get along, and it is currently sulking in a wardrobe until it thinks about what it's done.

littlesez · 06/03/2010 20:59

Hi guys im a rubbish mumsnetter! I find the threads hard to keep up with so sorry really I have to pull out but can I explain! Im usually really good at meeting up with people and never drop out of things. I myself have organised tons and tons of meets before, so know its annoying when people drop out especially of you have booked.

my friend is coming from spain and wants to spend day together on monday! i only see her once/twice a year so need to spend the day with her.
Sorry again and would love to meet up again another time x

lilolilmanchester · 06/03/2010 21:58

have a fab time ladies, sorry I can't join you. Usually I can pretty well organise my own schedule but this is one I can do nothing about. Have fun!

Babieseverywhere · 07/03/2010 08:41

I really wanted to join in but I have a 20 week scan which I need to attend on Monday. Have a great time everyone and report back with all the gossip.

bilblio · 07/03/2010 11:56

I'm terrible with names, real or MN ones so I'll forget you anyway

I've learnt through my job that if I write a name down I have a vague chance of remembering it.... so I'll be the one scribbling on napkins

chipsticksmammy · 07/03/2010 13:04

hello

thanks for the FB add, but I dont think I'll be coming tomorrow. chipstick has tonsilitis and hasnt sleep in about a week. As a result I'm a nice shade of grey and dealing with a sweaty 5 month old.

Shes not going to take to being stuck in the pram and made to go to the Trafford Centre

But make sure you organise another meet up tomorrow and I'll come to the next one, promise!

MrsChemist · 07/03/2010 18:32

I'll have my list of names. They are just the MN ones though.

I could be very very organised and add people's real names to my list as well.

BelleDameSansMerci · 07/03/2010 18:51

MrsC, I'll still be coming along tomorrow but will be BelleDameSansFilles... Had a bit of a hectic (ie exceptionally rare night out) and the poor child has been an angel today but has been bored rigid so seems only fair to let her run riot see her friends at nursery tomorrow.

JaynieB · 07/03/2010 18:56

Is this meet up open to all comers? Manchester is do-able for me.
Too many pages (and not enough time) for me to read - can you tell me when/where you're meeting?

suwoo · 07/03/2010 19:59

Tomorrow Jaynie!

Trafford Centre- Giraffe Restaurant. From 11.

What sort of time are most of you arriving? I'll aim to be there about 11.

Do you drive MrsC?

JaynieB · 07/03/2010 20:02

Oooh. I might be able to make it. See you there if I can!
