Hi

I'm always up for a meet! I live in Chatham so am fairly local to you.

Wisknit · 31/08/2008 08:45

Hullo

I'm in Chatham at the moment but (hopefully) moving to Maidstone in the next couple of months. So would cheerfully meet up. I have a 32 month and 15 moths old + 16 weeks with 3rd. So children not fidderent an age to yours.

Freckle · 31/08/2008 08:50

I'm in Maidstone but my children are considerably older than yours so not sure I'm the sort of mum you'd want to be meeting up with.

Whereabouts in M/s are you moving to? Could possibly give some pointers about the area.

RGPargy · 31/08/2008 08:56

Freckle - Not sure that age of kids would matter really! My DS is 18 (although i wouldn't bring him along, obviously!!).

RGPargy · 31/08/2008 08:59

Oh but i would bring DD, who is 9 months.

Wisknit · 31/08/2008 09:49

We are looking ar ME15 area. Age not really a problem.
I was thinking about just going to local BF groups (I'm a peer supporter in Chatham) and maybe trying to start a La Leche League group too. Also there is a homebirth group. Just so I can meet like minded people.

RGPargy · 31/08/2008 10:17

I could have done with meeting people like you when i was BF DD! I had a natural homebirth too, which was fab!

Wisknit · 31/08/2008 18:14

Home births rock!

Wisknit · 31/08/2008 18:15

Where in Chatham are you. I'm on Magpie Hall road for the time being.

RGPargy · 31/08/2008 20:27

I'm on Davis Estate, opposite Toys R Us. You're not far from me!

Wisknit · 31/08/2008 21:32

Not far at all. DO you ever go to the surestart down here? Thats where I'm a peer supporter.

RGPargy · 31/08/2008 22:55

No, i've never been there. Is it just like a mother & toddler type group thing?

Eddas · 31/08/2008 23:09

hiya, i'm in maidstone(think we've spoken before) I have dd, 4 and ds, 16 months. I'm always up for meeting new people

Wisknit · 01/09/2008 06:51

Surestart was a scheme set up in deprived areas to help with gen. health(i.e teaching about healthy eating), parenting skills, help with numeracy and literacy, and , I think, BF.

The sure start I go to has midwives and HVs working from there but they also have mother and baby/toddler groups, music groups, a 'playlink' room which is fab and a healthy eating cafe. It's for under5s.

RGPargy · 01/09/2008 21:29

Ah i think i remember it from when DS was a baby. Back then i think it just used to be for single parents or something, although i could be wrong as it was a long time ago!!

Wisknit · 05/09/2008 09:23

No, it's never been just for single parents although it could come across that way.

If you do want to meet up though please give me a yell. I'm always (it seems) at a loose end.

Looking very liely we'll be in Maidstone soon. Had an offer accepted on a house so all we need is for things to go smoothly. no chain, just us and the person buying our house so unless he pulls out should be moved in around a month.

RGPargy · 05/09/2008 10:07

Ooo fingers crossed for your move! It's a nerve-wracking time isn't it!

I'm always up for a meet up but i work Weds, Thurs and Fri so i'm limited to the days i can meet (just to make things awkward!).

pandi52 · 07/09/2008 22:14

thank-you RGPargy. we met on mn and have become bestest friends!!! have to dust off the webcam!!!

hellsbells76 · 07/09/2008 22:21

hello! I run the Maidstone homebirth group and we'd love to see you - we meet 2nd Saturday of the month. I have a ds of 6 and a dd of 2 and would be happy to meet up outside the group too. Email is helen at mhbsg.co.uk if you'd like to get in touch

hellsbells76 · 07/09/2008 22:23

sorry just realised it was wisknit who mentioned homebirth group not you!!

hellsbells76 · 07/09/2008 22:25

Wisknit have we 'spoken' on facebook? Hope you can make this saturday's meeting!

Wisknit · 08/09/2008 08:54

Hellsbells we have. I'm planning on making the meeting. Looks like we may be moving next month so I definitely need to get to know local midwives and people. Was shocked to hear they have closed down the nappucinos in Maidstone (and the rest of kent) because that was somewhere else I was going to go. Oh well. See you saturday.

lblouise, we could all wait til you're moved and settled in Maidstone and then organise a meet up? How does that sound.
On a thursday or friday of course for RGpargy's benefit - as I facilitate a BF drop-in on the friday thurs would probably be best for me.
