Helloooooo

April 4th is no good for me. DH is out. In fact that whole week is off as it is my birthday week.

You guys make a date and I'll see if I can do it.

Thanks for CAT furby - will let you know. Dh working away weeks in Ireland at the mo, so it depends if he is back in time. Am keen though.

Littlefish · 15/03/2008 09:15

Helloooo. How strange. I was only thinking yesterday that it would be nice to see you all again.

I need to check my diary. I have a feeling that dh is away (again!), but will see if I can sort childcare.

Furball · 15/03/2008 10:09

it doesn't have to be that date! I just plucked a random one from the air. I assumed you would all be away for the school holidays? so pick a date that good for you

OP posts:
TurkishDeelite · 15/03/2008 11:00

Hello ALL!
Furball- thanks for the CAT.
We are away on holiday that week so unfortunately 4th is no good for me.

Can I throw in an alternative date: April 11 for example? Totally random.

Look forward to seeing you all again!

HonorMatopoeia · 15/03/2008 19:54

Hi everyone!
I'm coming back from holiday on the 4th so couldn't do that one but keen to come if people can make another date? I'm away from the 28th March to the 4th April.
Hope everyone is well

MistressMiggins - will be great to see you. IF you make it

Littlefish · 16/03/2008 19:09

Hi there everyone.

Sorry I didn't find this or respond to CAT earlier but have had a bit of an awful week or two. My Dad was diagnosed with advanced cancer and died a week later. As you can imagine it was a bit of a shock (and still is).

Hence I've only just picked your email furball. Looking at the calender I think I can make either of those dates (4th or 11th).

Slouchy · 17/03/2008 16:22

Oh no, Betty, How awful. Nothing I caN say, but believe me I am thinking about you. (My mum died of cancer 9years ago. Its a bastard disease, it really is.) x x

Furball · 17/03/2008 16:33

betty - really sorry to hear your news, very sad.

OP posts:
Littlefish · 17/03/2008 17:21

Betty, how terribly sad. What an awful shock. Just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you.

BettySpaghetti · 17/03/2008 19:37

Thanks everyone.

On a happier note though I'm going to be an Auntie for the first time. My brother and his wife are expecting a baby in August.

Dad knew he was going to be a Grandad again which was good and hopefully it will also be something for my Mum to look forward to.

It never ceases to amaze me how often, within families, the news of a new baby accompanies the news of a death. Both and

mistressmiggins · 17/03/2008 19:41

Just seen this Betty
Sorry to hear your news
Love to you & your family xxxx

HonorMatopoeia · 17/03/2008 20:48

Oh Betty, I am truly so sorry to hear that, as Slouchy says it is one hell of a b***d disease. Good news about baby though, I hope he/she gives everyone something positive and lovely to focus on. x x

Itsthawooluff · 18/03/2008 12:58

Betty - I'm so very, very sorry. The sudden death of a relative is just hell.

I really hope you don't think this is very inappropriate, but I am doing the Race for Life in Worcester on 1 June, raising funds for Cancer Research (following on from both my own two near misses and a friend of a friend who is nearing end stage due to breast cancer), and was hoping to put my sponsorship link onto this meetup thread. Would that be OK with you?

Furball · 18/03/2008 14:24

Oh good show wooluffy!

People keep asking me if I'm training for something and I feel quite selfish when I reply, no just for me.
