I'll be there - where are we meeting at the resturant or at milenium square?

MaeWest · 05/03/2008 19:07

Ok, have done the deed and booked a table in the name of "mumsnet" at 8pm.

I suggest we meet in the restaurant, as likely to be a bit nippy hangning around in Minnellium Square...

ArmadilloDaMan · 05/03/2008 19:12

sounds good to me.

PixelHerder · 05/03/2008 20:49

Mae - have emailed you, but don't know if the email address I have is a current one, let me know?

DixiePixie · 05/03/2008 21:27

Mae, you are a star! Thanks for doing that. Really looking forward to a night out!!

DixiePixie · 06/03/2008 10:02

Hey Desi - are you coming too? I hope so

PixelHerder · 06/03/2008 11:40

Yes Desi don't forget we have lots of stuff like stonewash jeans to discuss

Mae and Puss, are you getting a cab back your way? If so I might think about sharing with you if that works as it's on the way for me.

MaeWest · 06/03/2008 13:41

Pixel - if it's my mumsnet yahoo one I don't check it v often, will go and do now...

MaeWest · 06/03/2008 13:55

Having now checked my (multiple) email address , the answer is yes Pixel...

Desiderata · 06/03/2008 14:09

Bloody hell Thursday's come round fast. In my usual careless manner, I seem to have forgotten our rendezvous date!!

OK, I have a free washing machine being delivered this evening by a kind benefactor. I have no idea what time he's coming, so whether I get to Bristol city centre by 8pm or not is anybody's guess. Start without me ..

MaeWest · 06/03/2008 14:15

Are you on Freecycle Desi?

DH is flying back from Hamburg tonight so will be a little tight for me too timewise, but am determined to get out tonight (I have bought him a pie to sweeten the deal )

Desiderata · 06/03/2008 14:31

No, it's not Freecycle, Mae. It's a lady I do some cleaning for. She's getting a new machine fitted today (a bigger variant on the model she already has), and she offered me her old (one year old) for nothing. The catch is that her dh wants to deliver it to mine this evening, because they don't have the space to keep it hanging around.

Damn. I just said yes without realizing the day.

MaeWest · 06/03/2008 14:41

I'm sure you'll make it somehow, altho we may have scoffed all the poppadoms before you get there...

Looking forward to meeting you

DixiePixie · 06/03/2008 14:42

Don't worry about the vouchers Desi I'll be fine, though thanks again for the thought.

I hope you can make it!!!

PixelHerder · 06/03/2008 17:07

Mae - thanks for your email, was out all afternoon so sorry haven't seen it till just now. Will reply now!

MaeWest · 06/03/2008 17:47

Pixel - fine to share cab, sure Puss would be up for it too as she is over this side.

Can't find your phone number... otherwise would call.

Kaz1967 · 07/03/2008 17:12

Hello I am newish to Mumsnet and would love to meet up with some people from here at some point

DixiePixie · 07/03/2008 17:26

Nice to meet you Kaz

Really enjoyed the meet up last night everyone (Desi - we missed you ) Perhaps we should try to get a day time meet up together so that NMC is able to join us too?

Kaz1967 · 07/03/2008 17:35

Daytime meet would be lovely I am not very good with busy noisy places as I suffer from panic attacks sometimes, which is rather a pain

charlotte121 · 07/03/2008 20:58

hello. would love to meet up. was chatting to u all a while bk. Im the chav mum
Would love to do a meet up some time as i am desperate for some adult conversation and a change of sceenary. will have to keep an eye out if u have another outing

needmorecoffee · 08/03/2008 08:00

I keep trying to arrange a daytime meet and no-one comes. Do I smell funny? Or is it cos dd is a ginger?
I can do a mon/wed/fri afternoon or a wed morning. Unless its Easter then I can do wehnever.
I still like the cafe at St Werburghs idea. Its pretty quiet there.
How did the meal go? Any rauscousness? Groping of waiters?

OP posts:
Kaz1967 · 08/03/2008 12:51

I can do Wednesday mornings and possibly Fri. Don't know St Werburghs but sure I could find places there.

DixiePixie · 08/03/2008 17:19

Nah NMC - only problem I have with your DD's gingerness is envy - haven't had a chance to henna my hair for AGES

My only problem day during the week is Tuesdays cos I teach on that day and the odd Friday.

St Werburgh's cafe could be nice (it's part of the St Werburgh's city farm Kaz). I can do the journey in 2 buses each way (off the top of my head, I think it's the number 5 and 25 buses from the city centre that go nearest if that's of help to anyone) - went there on mothers day with DD cos I was desparate to get out of the house and DD has started getting interested in animals. The cafe was quite cute, though there wasn't really room for a pushchair so I ended up leaving it outside.

Must admit, I wasn't particularly tempted to do any waiter-groping the other night! I found I was sleepy by 10 o clock after my first glass of wine since I got pregnant with DD! I have turned into such a lightweight. Really had a brilliant time though - great food, great company... (not necessarily in that order )

Kaz1967 · 08/03/2008 18:17

Oh I have been to the city farm a friends daughter had a birthday party there ages ago (she is `4 this year probably same 2 buses for me except the 5 from the other end so to speak.
