Hope you don't mind me peering in at your convo. I left Bristol last August permanently but nice to see tis name pop up. How's the city centre? I'm going to miss it all!

BoysAreLikeDogs · 08/02/2008 12:27

Hi quiet one

Can't aswer your q about the city centre as I am here by proxy (live on The Other Side of the estuary) but did'nt want you think I was ignoring you.

Arrrgh can't do Tuesday 19th, my Mum's 65th that day (sheesh how did I forget that, what with taking her away for the weekend prior)

So much to do and so little time

needmorecoffee · 08/02/2008 18:56

so just me and Armadillo then. Getting paranoid everyone hates me cos dd is GINGER

Lol!! I'm being cautious with DS atm though - seem to remember that you said on a thread that if DD catches a cold/temp it can cause fits?

needmorecoffee · 09/02/2008 10:49

she can indeedy cos she is a baaaaaaaaaaaad girl. But you are allowed out and can come visit. dd has a sneezy cold right now. She's alsways going to get breakthrough seizures when she gets poorly. Only thing we avoid are real green phelgm ones where the child is obviousl rather ill, all pale, unhappy etc. Thats a nasty cold type thingy we dont want.

That's what DS has just had.....he's at the crusty stage atm now...I'm at the going insane stage

Desiderata · 09/02/2008 16:37

I've been stuck in for three days and I am very quietly losing my fucking mind.

DS has developed an overnight fear of having a pooh. He no longer wants his nappy to pooh in (which is good), but he won't go on the toilet either. He's inevitably got stomach pains, and for three days he's been whining. He won't eat anything, and he won't drink anything because of this sudden and inexplicable fear.

I want a pooh, I don't want a pooh, oooooooh, mummmmmmmmy, I want a pooh, I don't want a pooh.

I am close to losing the plot completely.

Wisteria · 09/02/2008 16:44

Hello m'dear

Did he do a really big one that hurt? You could try giving him something to loosen things...... and be prepared for the explosion

PussinJimmyChoos · 09/02/2008 16:45

My MIL used to do home colonic irrigation for my DH as he was the same when small- he hated doing a shit....a few sessions of a rubber tube with a jug of warm water soon cleared that fear up.....see, child rearing was a tad tougher in our day wasn't it....

Desiderata · 09/02/2008 17:16

No, that's the thing, Wisty. He hasn't done a hard one. He had a sickness bug on Tuesday, but he didn't have the runs. It's developed since then, but it's all in his head.

He has never had a problem poohing until now. He's been a regular as clockwork ... and now he's hysterical at the thought of it.

Agggggggggggggghhh!

Hey, Puss. Does she still have that rubber tube?

Wisteria · 09/02/2008 17:52

Oh no - poor you; hope you have a good supply of wine and fags to get you through the stir crazy time

Is it best to just ignore it then? He'll have to go eventually......won't he??

It's going to be rather pongey when he does go.....we're off to Rothley for fish and chips tonight

Wisteria · 09/02/2008 17:53

needmorecoffee - why has your dd got stainless steel teeth??

Desiderata · 09/02/2008 17:57

I am ignoring him, Wisty. He's actually quite hysterical now.

Never, in my three years of motherhood, have I felt this worked up. He is literally pacing about the flat with his fingers up his bum to stop himself from poohing. He has the option of the toilet, a potty or a nappy. He won't take any of those options. I can't make him pooh. I've been trying all day. He's never been like this before. The lad could shit for England until Tuesday.

Jeez, my guts are coiled as tight as a spring.

needmorecoffee · 09/02/2008 19:01

dd had 5 teeth capped cos they were decayed but cos the NHS is cheap they did stainless steel rather than porcelain. Then they all said oh bugger what if she needs another MRI
We did the poo thing Desi. ds1 went through this. Its so fustrating as you wanthme to either shut up or just go for goodness sake.
I would park ds on the potty and read to him and sometimes it would just plop right out. I wont tell you this poo thing went on for years cos you'll go nuts....

MaeWest · 09/02/2008 19:08

I'm trying to visualise the stainless steel teeth nmc...

Didn't see this thread until today, is it too late to say that work on Tuesdays too?

Would be lovely to meet up again now DS is developing into a proper toddler rather than the lovely biddable baby that he was last time I saw you all

needmorecoffee · 09/02/2008 19:43

if tues aren't any good, someone else suggest a day! How about thurs afty in half term. Thats the 21st?
At the St Werburghs city farm.

OP posts:
Wisteria · 09/02/2008 23:37

it was probably nothing to do with you need.... my friend's daughter had decayed teeth and it turns out it was the soya milk - she was lactose intolerant.

Are they first or 2nd teeth? My friend's dd's adult teeth were all fine

needmorecoffee · 12/02/2008 08:59

do people want to meet up or not? Anyone?
Helooooooooooooooooooooooo?

OP posts:
ArmadilloDaMan · 12/02/2008 17:24

hello I'm still ehre. Can do a tues or mon if necessary, but can't do wed/thurs/fri.

I went to a coffee thingy for preschool parents in stoke bishop/sneyd park area.

All I can say 'oh my life' at the size of the hosue. It had a sweeping staircase up to front door.

I could have fit my house into their hall.

Dear god.

They were all very nice, but so far away from my life it was unreal.

I knew they were posh, but dear god.

Anyway, thought I'd share that with you all.

needmorecoffee · 12/02/2008 17:27

OP posts:
ArmadilloDaMan · 12/02/2008 17:27
