wildwoman · 01/02/2008 19:08

I wouldlove to do a MN meetup but my appallingly behaved little dears would make me have to namechange

needmorecoffee · 01/02/2008 19:10

pfft. I've had 4 kids, 3 of whom are teenagers now. Nothing suprises me anymore.
How old are your lot?

OP posts:
wildwoman · 01/02/2008 19:12

6 going on 13 and 3 1/2. Both girls.

ArmadilloDaMan · 01/02/2008 19:14

how did it go with your dd?

I wouldn't mind, am limited to times.

Wildwoman, don't worry ds isn't exactly an angel

needmorecoffee · 01/02/2008 19:15

sounds fine. Would a Tuesday do? Desi demanded a Tues and she'll flounce otherwise. How about half term?

OP posts:
ArmadilloDaMan · 01/02/2008 19:16

Tues, half term would be good for me. As long as someone can give me dates for half term (I know I'm free, but I don't know when it is )

needmorecoffee · 03/02/2008 12:11

okies, Tues half term. Where? Somewhere I can get too with dd and isn't overrun with hordes of screaming brats (apart from ours )

OP posts:
ArmadilloDaMan · 03/02/2008 21:19

erm, will ponder on that one.

ArmadilloDaMan · 03/02/2008 21:20

well will pretend to ponder until someone else comes up with a good idea

BoysAreLikeDogs · 03/02/2008 21:25

City Farm Cafe at St Werburgs is great, although I am a bit too far out to join you (you probably wouldn't want me anyway lol).

It has a marvellous outdoor play area with fabbo climbing frames/slides plus organic cafe selling fabulous cakes, and you can trot across the road to look at the animals on the farm.

ArmadilloDaMan · 03/02/2008 21:30

hmm, sounds interesting, but looked it up and apparently no disabled access.

Why don't you come along to a meet up? WHat's this fear?
We're not that scary ('cept Crookshanks who steals people's tupperware).

...legal disclaimer - Crookshanks doesn't really steal tupperware.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 03/02/2008 21:36

Armadillo, I know Bristol quite well, my Sister lives in Horfield, not far from IKEA, I live on the Other Side of the river so not a huge distance to come.

I might well join you if plans fit with half-term

Bummer about lack of access, having a think.

ArmadilloDaMan · 03/02/2008 21:38

well not sure we would want someone who lives 'other side of the river'

LAst time we went to musuem, but thanks to power crazed lady who terrorizes watches over the play area, it wasn't the best.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 03/02/2008 22:05

Oh dear stupid woman

Off now, will continue pondering

Catch up soon

needmorecoffee · 06/02/2008 16:50

lalalalalalala, wheelchair acessible car arriving Monday so can get places. Although dd only tolerates half an hour before yelling (new anti-epileptic, she is having 'rage' from it)

What about hop skip n jump inKingswood. Its actually for SN kids but you lot could just pretend

OP posts:
needmorecoffee · 06/02/2008 16:50

why isn't St Werburghs accessible? Is it up 19 flights of steps?

OP posts:
BoysAreLikeDogs · 06/02/2008 18:12

NMC the cafe is a bit cramped have a look here

What do you think ?

ArmadilloDaMan · 06/02/2008 18:19

I don't know why it isn't - there was a review of it on Days out in Bristol or something and it had unaccessible on it, but no details.

Maybe someone who's been, recently, would know better as don't know when site is updated.

You'll soon be mobile and shooting all over place then, with the car

needmorecoffee · 07/02/2008 09:12

given dd screams after 10 mins in a car no shotting around for me but we will be able to get to her endless hospital appointments without walking 3 miles or waiting ages for a bus then having it come and not be accessible (dd is total nuisance)
Rang St Werburghs but they ain't up yet so I'll ask them later. There's a cafe in Fresh n Wild so we could meet there and freak out the Clifton Mummy's

OP posts:
needmorecoffee · 07/02/2008 09:15

pretty looking cafe though. Wonder if we could heave dd's wheelchair up any steps if there were only a few?

OP posts:
needmorecoffee · 07/02/2008 10:03

St Werburghs said no probs getting a wheelchair in. Either heave it up steps or go round the back.
Not been a car driver before....where does one park?

OP posts:
BoysAreLikeDogs · 07/02/2008 14:24

The cafe is at the end of a no-thru-road so people just usually park by the roadside, there is a turning area at the end of the cul-de-sac, and with a bit of judicious complicated eight point turning manoevering, park by the kerbside.

It is VERY nice there, not been since last summer though

HTH

needmorecoffee · 07/02/2008 15:34

could park in The Better Food company place and walk up? Is that feasible?

OP posts:
PussinJimmyChoos · 07/02/2008 22:11

A tuesday!!!

Mind you, I can't see me getting out of the house at this rate - DS has another farking cold...am sick of it! If there was a market for snot I'd be typing this in a mahoosive house with swimming pool and fit butler rubbing my shoulders as I type!

needmorecoffee · 08/02/2008 09:10

you can go out with a cold you know! DD has had cold after cold this winter. My older 3 had permamnt slugs from age 1 to 4.
Long as its not on his chest he will be fine.
