Here we are!!

I'm not a bit like the glam mum, so no need to worry, Berrie. She was being really ungrateful and spoilt I thought, turning her nose up at a huge house with a fab garden just because it wasn't in town.

Berrie · 18/01/2008 17:16

Oh I know! What a great house it was! She came across as terribly selfish. Her boys would have loved that garden much more than being near the boutiques.

I'd not thought about why he was like that Zeb but you're probably right...perhaps both.

Berrie · 18/01/2008 20:51

And while we're on the subject...did anyone watch build a new house in the country revisited?
Did anyone else object to the voiceover?

LyraSilvertongue · 18/01/2008 20:59

No but I did see A Place in the Sun when they were looking for a £1.5 million villa in Majorca for a footballer and his squeaky-voiced model girlfriend. She was another ungrateful cow, being shown round these fabulous houses and whining that the pool area wasn't big enough. Grrr.

Berrie · 19/01/2008 07:59

Oh yes I did see a bit of that but turned it off as i found the whole proposition of that young girl being able to choose a luxury holiday home far too sickening!

LyraSilvertongue · 19/01/2008 13:01

They said at the end of the show that the footballer and the silly girl had split up, so she didn't get the luxury holiday home after all.

Berrie · 19/01/2008 13:02

Good!

LyraSilvertongue · 19/01/2008 13:04

LyraSilvertongue · 19/01/2008 13:04

Oops.

Berrie · 19/01/2008 13:21

Didn't realise you'd only just posted that when I replied otherwise I'd have hung around!

Berrie · 19/01/2008 20:44

Oh it's rather quiet here at the weekend.
My back is feeling a little better today thank goodness. DH's plane had a successful maiden flight. We went to looks at some chickens and Dh said he wanted some man's chickens, chicken chickens not poncy things but since when did I take any notice of him

Dh has made a nice chilli and is presently in the kitchen adding some walnuts to it mouthing off about me signing him up for an online french course!

Berrie · 19/01/2008 20:52

Hope you are feeling better Lyra.
Zeb, how is DH and the cow?
Binkle..who are you out with tonight?
Oggs...don't panic...I have accepted that I am not going to lose any weight and that it doesn't matter. I think we've all got to know each other and like each other without seeing one another and if I was half a stone lighter it wouldn't make any differnce...once the first half hour is over it is not going to be about the size of my belly but the quality of my conversation....yikes!

LadyCellophane · 19/01/2008 21:06

I know you lot will be an appreciate audience - so gotta tell you, I had my first dream about Lee last night!

Hoping for his CD for my birthday.

LyraSilvertongue · 20/01/2008 16:25

Aother Lee fan. Welcome ladycellophane
We're all going of him now though.

LadyCellophane · 20/01/2008 17:23

Is that cos you can't compete with leggy blonde Denise?!

LyraSilvertongue · 20/01/2008 18:19

Are you implying that I'm not as stunning as Denise?

binkleandflip · 20/01/2008 19:21

Well! Went to that play last night - the theatre was literally next door to Adelphi - I was suprised how close the Strand Palace is to - the theatre, what an excellent location!

OP posts:
Berrie · 20/01/2008 19:38

Not far to take Lee back to then eh Binkle!

oggsfrog · 20/01/2008 19:38

Was the play any good Binkle? How was Christian Slater? Is it the one with Helen Baxendale in too?
Berrie. Hope the back is on the mend now. Have you listened to the cd yet?

binkleandflip · 20/01/2008 19:48

yes, the play was pretty good - not quite as light hearted as Joseph

Christian Slater was really good - think he could literally 'phone in' his performance as its really all about his distinctive voice 0 it really is terribly sexy...However think he might have been at the botox tho as he didnt really seem to have a lot of facial expression and I always recall he use to have those very expressive eyebrows a la Jack Nicholson. Helen Baxendale was ok but her american accent was dreadful!!

We went for a couple of drinks after the play - which turned into far too many and stayed out far too late....the train was delayed an hour and a half on the way home due to signal failure.

I dont know that there is a worse feeling than being stuck in a field on a stationary red hot train with a bottle of red plus several cocktails topped up with a cream cheese croissant swilling around in your belly

Berrie · 20/01/2008 19:50

I certainly have but only the once as Dh didn't go out on Friday night due to flooding. It's not really the kind of thing I would listen to normally and when I tried to use my imagination, all I could see was him crooning at Denise
I will give it a second outing tomorrow!

binkleandflip · 20/01/2008 19:52

forgot to add - we got in around 2 and went to bed only to be woken by a nutter in the next room KICKING our room door for no apparent reason - we had to move rooms at 3 in the morning whilst they were being put out of the room as the woman was trying to start a fight with my friend think she must have been on something. So seriously sleep deprived as well as horribly hungover!

OP posts:
Berrie · 20/01/2008 19:55

Eh? Where were you going back to then?

binkleandflip · 20/01/2008 19:58

We stayed at the Premier travel inn at Euston station. It was a decent enough place for the money just unfortunate we got a room next to mad woman. I have a strange feeling she may have been a, a-hem, lady of the night

Berrie · 20/01/2008 20:02

Oo er Binkle! The places you go!
