OK, thought I'd bite the bullet and start this thread as we were talking about the possibility on the "we're great, we are" thread

Is anyone interested in a christmas meet up? I know it's early but you know how time has a habit of flying by... I'm happy to organise if so. You can post here or email me at [email protected] I'm thinking probably London or just outside London as the place and the venue depends on how many want to come. Like batey's idea of a 70s/80s theme...

www 5pm is ok for me too...especially as bayleaf & alisa plan to go for that time & we look like we may be staying at same hotel.....bayleaf i did get your e-mail don't know what happened to the 1st 2??

I am sooooo looking forward to this (but slightly nervous too..1st outing since the birth & other problems!

www...what do we do about getting money to you? Surely its going to be quite a big deposit with so many people.

WideWebWitch · 29/09/2002 21:44

dixie, haven't got around to booking yet but ks is helping with that and is going to let me know when she's called them. When it comes to stumping up for a deposit I'll let you all know: then I will be looking for FIRM committments and hard cash!!

Hi all
I haven't been around in a while, but if anyone is travelling from the north east I would love to come if it is ok with you?
Don't much fancy the trip by myself though!!

Bobbins · 30/09/2002 00:18

Scatterbrain> fellow Reading-ite.!!!!...this is good...E-mail me .... [email protected] we can be nervous about it together, perhaps we should both get the train, so we can both have one or two gin and slonics????

Ghosty · 30/09/2002 07:49

CAM, I wish I could, it would be a laugh! Unfortunately 12000 miles would be a long way to come!!!

CAM · 30/09/2002 10:31

So you've probably told us you live in NZ or Aus (must be to be that far away) on mumsnet already haven't you - and I've got the world's worst memory (old age) and therefore forgotten!

bells2 · 30/09/2002 10:54

Put me down too please!

Marina · 30/09/2002 10:59

And I'm fine for a 5pm start, thanks www and ks.

bayleaf · 30/09/2002 12:34

Sadly I think I should be sensible (...why start now...?) and bow out now rather than at the last minute. 30th Nov is 3 days before my due date, so I probably won't be in a wild party mood!! On the other hand - Mears and Leese are you going? After a fantastic home birth last time round maybe a restaurant birth would be an interesting variation!! Quite fancy going into labour with gin and tonic in hand (Only joking!!)
Hope you all have a wonderful time - I'll be there in spirit!

Bumblelion · 03/10/2002 10:47

I am definitely still coming - 30th November at 6:30 pm. Let me know what deposit needs to be paid and how I can get money to you.

I am only normally available on-line on Wednesday and Thursday (only days I work - can't find time to get on computer when I am not at work!!!) and on 14th October am going away on holiday for one week.

Let me know if you need the deposit before I go on holiday as I would hate to miss out on this.

Feel a bit nervous about meeting up but, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Dixie · 03/10/2002 13:05

Hooray!!!!!! getting VERY VERY excited but also quite nervous...thank goodness I'll be meeting up with you Alisa & Bayleaf 1st! (arrange that nearer the time)

Ks I'm a probable 5pm starter so keep us posted of where we'll meet if it gets sorted...& of course the money front!!

prufrock · 03/10/2002 13:37

Me too please ks.
