OK, thought I'd bite the bullet and start this thread as we were talking about the possibility on the "we're great, we are" thread

Is anyone interested in a christmas meet up? I know it's early but you know how time has a habit of flying by... I'm happy to organise if so. You can post here or email me at [email protected] I'm thinking probably London or just outside London as the place and the venue depends on how many want to come. Like batey's idea of a 70s/80s theme...

Although if you haven't watched it you really are missing out Willow a it is v. good trashy show (but then I don't have a life)

Willow2 · 29/10/2002 21:09

tell me when and where

sis · 30/10/2002 10:37

Sorry willow2, you've just missed the latest series and will have to wait until the next series with the rest of us sad addicts! For what it's worth, it used to be on on Wednesdays at about 9pm on Channel 4.

star · 30/10/2002 18:44

Another good trashy one in a similar vein is Mr Right tonight at 9.

sis · 31/10/2002 09:56

Hello star! missed having you around, hope everything is okay with you... did you say you were starting a new job or is that my imagination?
sis

star · 31/10/2002 12:40

Hi Sis.it's always nice to talk to you, hope you're ok.I'm fine,I'm going for jobs at the moment so keep your fingers crossed for me.I hope to find something before Christmas.I'm going for full time work or almost full time depending on what there is.I'm only doing part time at the moment so only working 3 hours every day and and 3 over nights and my last baby is at school now since sept and there's only so much house work you can do lol.Remember if you're ever down my way visiting it would be nice to meet up for coffee

tigermoth · 31/10/2002 14:11

any chance of you making the 30th nov meet up, star?

Bumblelion · 31/10/2002 14:57

I have stil not paid my deposit and don't know how to. Please enlighten me.

Marina · 31/10/2002 15:05

You don't have to, Bumblelion. Ks gave them a post-dated cheque, which was all they needed apparently.

star · 31/10/2002 16:58

Eeh Tigermoth-there's a question.I thought it was too late actually.I'm working though and it's really difficult to get time off.But have another meet up soon in the new year,I'm bound to have another job by then with a bit more sociable hoursenjoy yourself.

Ks - I know this is last second but I've only just joined Mumsnet last Friday, but already (apart from the weekend down time) have logged on every nite - I'm hooked! Its probably too late but if not I'd love to join you all.

Ks - Thank you. Duly noted and underlined in my diary. I have to say that even though I've only joined last Friday my DH is already starting to make comments about the number of times he's found me hooked to this site.

Willow2 · 31/10/2002 23:55

it's a cult wills - get out while you still can

WideWebWitch · 01/11/2002 17:49

What do people think about meeting here? OK it's an annoying (to me) Irish theme pub but have done huge search on wine bars in Glos Rd and can't find any! Except in the hotel opposite the tube. What do people think? I am worried we won't be able to hear each other though, so maybe the hotel bar? If anyone has any other suggestions for those of us who want to meet at 5pm please make them. Ta. Finnegans Wake at least doesn't allow children (good) but does have live sports (bad).

Mmm been racking my brains for a bar around there but I think they are a bit thin on the ground. One place could be Cafe Flo, just down the road from Da Marios (sp) which has a bar/seating area which is nice and relaxed but i think would depend on how many people are going to be there at five, because its not huge. But I think Finnegans Wake would be fine.
