CycleIndia2008 · 03/06/2007 13:07

Hi there.. I am from Hamble.. nr Southampton and am looking to meet up with some locals. I have been back from New Zealand now for just over 2 years and have found it difficult meeting others.
I am mother to 3 ages 19, 14 & 4 yes the 4 yr old was like starting all over again!

I have commited myself to doing a charity cycle ride next year and to be honest am getting nervous.. Was featured in the local rag this week too in order to spread the word and get some fundraising going

Anyways .. hope some of you local ladies drop in for a chat soon.. take care and bye for now xx

Hi

Well it was lovely to meet at JJ's today, prob made it harder for NappyValley to find us as I had some from netmums who happen to come along too at the same table so more than expected. Great to put a face to the name albeit briefly.
We'll have to do an Itchen Valley meet up in the school holidays or one weekend to include those who couldn't make it today.

Those who are coming to the curry night, see you there, others hope to meet up again soon Curry Night Info in Here

Take care xx

Yes sorry I was suddenly filled with shyness. A new characteristic for me. Sorry about that.

Great to put some names to faces.

Thanks for the info on curry night. All much clearer now!

Tommy · 11/07/2007 21:47

sorry we didn't make it. I suddenly realised that it would be a big rush trying to get DS2 to swimming at 12 and then straight to nursery if we came along.

Is it worth going to? Was chatting about it to a friend today?

Angela1982 · 12/07/2007 18:33

mumof2monsters · 15/07/2007 20:31

Hey Cycle

Did you do race for life today? I was there and kept trying to look out for you but with 10,000 women there it proved difficult.

Ran past Craig Mcclaughlan (not sure how to spell it!) Did a mix of walk and run and completed it in 35 mins so not bad but felt shattered now so off for a bath. Hope the curry night goes well and sorry could not make it.

Will log on later in the week to see about all meeting up again

NappyValley · 15/07/2007 21:10

Well done on the run girls. We rather stupidly were trying to get home from M3 at totally the wrong time today. We live near the common and it was just as everyone was trying to go home. It was annoying but on the other habd it was great to see all these women walking home in pink with a terriffic sense of accomplishment on theor face. Girl power.

CycleIndia2008 · 16/07/2007 08:36

Hey

Mumof2monsters.. yes I did it, only walked all the way though in 55 minutes. so well done you for doing it in 35. We ran across the finish line though. I didn't stop for a photo of craig Mc whatsit either.. used to think he was really fit in neighbours

NappyValley.. yes was a nightmare getting back out through the traffic, my friends dad dropped us of and picked us up again fortunately so didn't have to try find parking spots.

Well curry night tonight... I hope it goes well, and more people turn up than have bought tickets or I will definitely have to change rides as I wont reach my target. I have contacted the organisers and they said it's not a problem if I transfered to the later ride in November 08.. a lot of people do apparently. Still the same cause etc so only difference is it gives me more time to collect and get fit, and of course different location (Cuba)

Hello to everyone else.. have a good day

CycleCUBA2008 · 21/07/2007 09:28

Hi there... just on to let you all know I have changed my name as I have transfered to doing the CUBA ride now .. I was stressing about only having 3 months left until the fundraising deadline. All info is still the same as you will see from going to Action For Charity except it is CUBA instead of India and gives me longer for collecting and fundraising.

I am putting in a proposal to Hamble Club today to do a Quiz night there, and organise a Carribean Theme Family day for September.. would you be interested in coming? If weather is nice could have bouncy castle in garden too for kiddies. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hope you are all well... hope to see you all again soon

CycleCUBA2008 · 21/07/2007 09:30

My Fundraising Page is all still same, with details on there of events etc too. Total is nearing £1000 now

Angela1982 · 22/07/2007 09:47

Hi CycleCuba,

Theme family day sounds a fantastic idea my hubby Izzie and I would love to come. I will put my thinking cap on to see if I canhave any ideas. Bouncy castles are fantastic kids love them. We had one of Izzie's christening. The people we used were great too. They were rainbow mini gym www.rainbowminigym.co.uk/ they do inflateable play too don;t know if that would be a good idea awell??

Also my brother did a cycle in Brazil a few years back and he did a couple of race nights which proved to be realy popular (He did it at the Dell which as far as I am aware they did for free)

Keep us as posted on how things are going

Angela xx

CycleCUBA2008 · 22/07/2007 14:00

Hi Angela.. thank you for your input, I will defintiely pick your brains again.
I am getting quite excited now about organising this fun day.. think it will be fab. I handed my proposal into the club last night so hope to hear something very soon. The inside of the club is a decent size so if they got involved too we would take over the who place on a sunday which is usually pretty quiet, so they would stand to make shed loads on the bar. And then at least most of it would be indoors then too so we'd be fine if the weather turned out bad.
All sounds like a great idea but will take a lot of planning.
Think it should be Cuban as opposed to general Carribean theme, with pic of good old Che Guevara, salsa dancing etc

When do you all want to meet up again by the way? I am free next week. Tuesday going to JJ's with Paula who a couple of you met last time. We'll be there from 10.30.

Ciao for now

Angela1982 · 22/07/2007 17:27

NappyValley · 23/07/2007 12:57

Hi.

Cuba wow (what an amazing place to cycle through)
Quiz nights with fish and chips supper work well as the costs are low.
Fun day with salsa and stuff sounds brilliant too. You are a font of creativity. Glad you are not as stressed anymore as it sounded like more of an ordeal than a challenge!

Cuba gives you a good colour theme too.

Let us know when you have date. I promise not to be the total flake I am currently showing myself to be- HONEST!!

CycleCUBA2008 · 24/07/2007 14:33

Hey

Angela.. nice to meet you and little Izzy today, glad you could make it. Catch up again soon

NappyValley.. yes sure don't worry I will let you and the world know when I have a date for the fun day.. think it will be a really good one.. hope to catch up again soon

Hi to everyone else

Hi All
Not been on for a while as been busy working and entertaining the kids!

Hope you are all well. Was just wondering if anyone wants to meet up in the next couple of weeks with the kids?

I work shifts but am sure I could fit something in. Anyone up for it? Cyclecuba, rosepetal, eve34, mamanoodle and bouquet and anymore that want to meet up.

CycleCUBA2008 · 02/08/2007 11:09

Hi Mof2M.. you say a time when you can make it as you are on shifts hun, and I for one will fit in.
i am however going to my parents for a couple of days , then Paul is having my girls for the week 20th up til the bank holiday. But any time either side of that is fine with me.

Got the go ahead last night to arrange a the fundraiser at Hamble Club which is great so anyone with any ideas of stalls or activities please speak up.. need all the help I can get.. lol

hi to you all. hope you are all having a good holidays xxx

Angela1982 · 02/08/2007 21:18

Hi,

Thats excellent that Hamble club have given the go ahead (must get some new Dance shoes as mine are falling apart and I wanna learn Salsa! lol)

I would love to meet mumof2monsters (if ou don't mind me tagging along!) I have a little girl who is almost 10months. Again say when you are free and I will see what I can do.

Thanks Angela x

CycleCUBA2008 · 04/08/2007 12:13

Right girls.. this week for a meet up??? I will in London from 12th for a few days then Paul has the girls the week after that, so let's make a plan for sometime this week. Perhaps Victoria Park? Or Itchen Valley? Either is fine for me.

Also have provisionally booked the club for the fun day 30th September

Anyone have any ideas?

Chat again soon xxxx
