Hi there.. I am from Hamble.. nr Southampton and am looking to meet up with some locals. I have been back from New Zealand now for just over 2 years and have found it difficult meeting others.
I am mother to 3 ages 19, 14 & 4 yes the 4 yr old was like starting all over again!

I have commited myself to doing a charity cycle ride next year and to be honest am getting nervous.. Was featured in the local rag this week too in order to spread the word and get some fundraising going

Anyways .. hope some of you local ladies drop in for a chat soon.. take care and bye for now xx

I've been a mum for 20 yrs now, and it still isn't any easier... lol! My kids are 19 (20 on June 30th) 14 & 4.. I must say that having the 4 yr old was like starting from scratch again. Now I long for the day she starts school in September.. what a bad mummy am I

I know the way to drive to playschack, but can I find a link to it now..

Typical isn't it. Sure I will find it, if I think I will get that lost I can always use DP's sat nav, but did print off a route.

CycleIndia2008 · 07/06/2007 07:17

I know its on the , and coming from fairoak way, once you reach Burger King at Hedge End, turn left at the roundabout, and left at the next I believe and then you'll see a sign for the Solent Trading Estate..

I found it
Playshack,
Unit 28,
Solent Industrial Estate,
Shamblehurst Lane,
HEDGE END,
Southampton, SO30 2FX

I had to search on another thread I wrote on a rival site for that as still couldn't find anything about it even doing a google search! weird!

Hope to see some of you there even I'll be the childless one with a big cup of cappucino

Hey Ladies

Glad to see that a few of us are going to be there on the 15th next Friday. So thats me, cycleindia, rosepetal 1 and mamanoodle and anyone else that wants to join in. Just have to work out a way that we will all know each other and have to introduce ourselves properly otherwise we will all be calling each other by our mumsnet names!!

NappyValley · 07/06/2007 21:44

Hi I am a southampton mum too. Unfortunately I can't make Fridays. My DS is 18 months. Be great to meet up another time

rosepetal1 · 08/06/2007 09:51

That's a shame nappyvalley. Maybe we could do an evening or weekend meet next time.

Hi Mumof2monsters, glad we have a few more now, Wasn't eve34 coming as well I think that was from another thread though??
I have never met anyone from here before so haven't any ideas how we will know each other What do you think?

hollyandalice · 08/06/2007 09:56

Hi, I live in Southampton too!! I may be able to make your meet up if that's ok. I am, however, due with my 2nd on the 19th, so may not be able to make it! Hopefully if I have't had the baby by then an hour of running around the soft play centre with my dd will get things going!

rosepetal1 · 08/06/2007 10:29

Your welcome to join us as long as you promise not to go into labour while there

NappyValley · 08/06/2007 10:30

I like your thinking hollyandalice - just make sure you don't get stuck between 2 rollers or something!!

I think you should all make yourselves badges saying "MumsNet keeps you sane" !!

Oh and good luck H&A with the joys of Princess Anne Hospital!! or are you going for a home birth.

hollyandalice · 08/06/2007 10:45

I promise not to go into labour whilst I'm there. Though if my waters break in the play area it wouldn't be too bad, it is all wipe clean pvc after all ! Hopefully I won't be able to make it as I'll have a new born to look after, but knowing my luck I'll still be pg!

I am having a home birth (hopefully) in my lovely birth pool in a box!

rosepetal1 · 08/06/2007 10:48

Do you mean to say you won't come anyway with your new born

Your very brave don't think I could do a home birth. Well at least if you do make it, we will know who you are.

Good luck and hope to see you Friday

hollyandalice · 08/06/2007 10:50

Yep, I'll be the big fat waddling one!

Maybe see you next week!

whoops · 08/06/2007 11:07

OOh a meetup!!
I can't make it though unfortunatly as I will be in the confines of my office!
We'll have to arrange a weekend meet so I can come

CycleIndia2008 · 08/06/2007 11:19

Morning ... sounds like there will be quite a crowd of us now..
Hollyandalice.. hope you hold on so you get to come too
Nappyvalley.. where in Soton are you? Meet up some other time soon, Victoria park if weather is good perhaps
If Eve34 is coming, I am pretty sure it's same Eve on netmums I have met before.
As for how we'll know each other well if we all head to the chairs just in front of the toddler section of softplay then we should bump into each other.. if you visit my profile there is my fundraising site on which is a photo of me, thats me done.. how about the rest of you?

OP posts:
rosepetal1 · 08/06/2007 12:35

I can just see it now, another group of Mum's at those chairs and I walk up and just start including myself in there group. How embarrassing would that be

mumof2monsters · 08/06/2007 12:56

Hi All
Totally agree rosepetal1. Yes lets just meet there at 1.30 and I am sure we will notice each other as the nervous ones trying to figure out who is who!

Looking forward to it.

NappyValley · 08/06/2007 13:39

I am in the centre of town in Bannister Park - which is that little area south of the common but north of Archers Road.

Used to live in Bitterne so know that side of the water too.

Home Birth - yippee. I wanted one of those but after 3 days in mild labour at home we had to abandon all hope and in the end after 90hrs they took him out the sunroof. I think that was because I was in distress not DS!! .

we are TTC at the mo (not much luck so far) so I mainly lurk about in the conception threads. if we get lucky I will definately try for a HB (mmm I can see the arguments with the consultant already!!) I just want to get it done have a bath and get back into my own bed!!!! But I guess I had better concentrate on step 1 first!!!!!!!!

Have a fun time.

CycleIndia2008 · 08/06/2007 14:39

only other way to be sure would be to all meet outside or in reception!
Hi Whoops.. get back to work ..lol

OP posts:
Tommy · 08/06/2007 14:45

I can't come either but will be with you in spirit!

nappyvalley -I'm near you - do you think we know each other?!

hollyandalice · 08/06/2007 14:55

I'm in St. Denys, so not far from you either nappyvalley!

mamanoodle · 08/06/2007 15:13

hey - exciting that so many people are getting involved...thanks for printing out the address Cycle now all i need is a map

hollyandalice - i had a homebirth in march - it was FAB

as for recognisng one another - maybe we should all stick a bunch of carrots under our arms or something?!

CycleIndia2008 · 08/06/2007 16:02

no sooer said than done... MAP

OP posts:
mumof2monsters · 08/06/2007 17:19

Maybe it would be a good idea to meet in the reception area at least then we will all know who we are because otherwise I may just go up and babble like an idiot to anyone! lol

CycleIndia2008 · 08/06/2007 17:30

yes especially as we don't even know real names or anything.. we'll have a roll call of exactly who's coming Friday morning then see you there at 1.30pm
