Hi there.. I am from Hamble.. nr Southampton and am looking to meet up with some locals. I have been back from New Zealand now for just over 2 years and have found it difficult meeting others.
I am mother to 3 ages 19, 14 & 4 yes the 4 yr old was like starting all over again!

I have commited myself to doing a charity cycle ride next year and to be honest am getting nervous.. Was featured in the local rag this week too in order to spread the word and get some fundraising going

Anyways .. hope some of you local ladies drop in for a chat soon.. take care and bye for now xx

Yay! We did it! For everyone else's benefit I found my keys and met up with Rosepetal, Mumof2monsters, Cycleindia, Mamanoodle and Eve34. I think a lovely afternoon was had by all .

CycleIndia2008 · 15/06/2007 17:58

Hey.. yes had a lovely afternoon. Natasha enjoyed holding the baby. And I enjoyed being able to chat without having my little one. Let's make an outside meet soon now we have met each other. Or an evening girls night out would be good.
Was great to meet the ones who could make it. I gather hollyandalice was too near to having or has had her bubs.
NappyValley & Whoops.. hope you can make the next meet

Hi Ladies
It was really nice to meet you all this afternoon and great that we finally discovered who bouquet was after seeing her wandering around...good job she posted her photo on here!!
Yes totally agree we could do an outside one next time or an evening out...I am always up for an evening out without the little ones!
Glad to say that my DD is now feeling much better apart from the lump on the back of her head, it's the second bump today so am expecting social services any time soon!
Anyway time to bath the kids. Lets arrange a meet up again soon. Oh and mamanoodle your little girl is gorgeous!!

mamanoodle · 15/06/2007 18:17

Yes- it was great, and thanks to Natasha for holding onto baba for such a long time.....kai got home all sweaty, has got ALL his jumping out of his system (yay - the sofa lives to fight another battle) and has actually put his OWN bath on ...which reminds me - rosepetal, did you mean it about the tractors?!

CycleIndia2008 · 15/06/2007 18:19

An evening meet sounds like a very good idea! Maybe if some of you could make CycleIndias curry night Cos I'm defo up for that

Sexonknackeredlegs · 15/06/2007 21:07

Eve, wow! I am in Portchester Rise just off Boyatt Lane! What ages are you child/ren?

rosepetal1 · 16/06/2007 08:57

Hi ladies,

Just managed to sneak on for 5 mins to say that I had a great time yesterday afternoon, it was great to meet you all.

Mumof2monsters I'm really glad that monster2 is OK now, poor thing must have hit her head really hard.

Mamanoodle I spoke to my DP last night and he said that will be fine. E-mail me on [email protected] and we can arrange a time you can bring him in.

Would love to do a weekend or evening meet, I don't think I will be able to make the curry night but will sponsor you anyway cycleindia.

mumof2monsters · 16/06/2007 10:38

Yes was great to meet you all yesterday and pleased to say DD is feeling much better today after a good nights sleep and a dose of calpol.

NappyValley · 16/06/2007 21:21

So sad I could not make it. Lets get a date in the diary for an outside meet in July maybe? Suggestions for locations...

Viccy Park
Southampton Common (as the Lido is now open again)
Itchen Valley Country Park
Longdown Farm

I hope to make the curry night if I can find a sitter as DH wont be home til 10.

I saw on the "june antenatal club" that AliceandHolly have still not dropped. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

OwnerofaTomboy - like it like it

hollyandalice · 16/06/2007 22:04

Hi ladies! Sorry I couldn't make it yesterday, I was knackered and couldn't face the soft play centre, I don't think I could have run around after my crazy dd without fainting! Glad you had a good time and hope to join you in a meet up once my LO is born, which will hopefully be any day! Speak soon !

CycleIndia2008 · 17/06/2007 13:27

good luck hollyandalice, hope bubs make an appearance soon

ok.. next meet up then.. can any of you do sundays? Just then the ones that work can make it. Weekdays are a bit tricky with DD at preschool for 2 hours each afternoon unless we hang on until the school holidays.

The common or Vic park sound good

How's everyone? we are out for a roast today.. saves me cooking.. lol

OP posts:
mumof2monsters · 17/06/2007 15:49

Can do some sundays but work shifts which include sundays. An outdoor meet up would be good that way the children can run around safely.
Today we have been out to the park so that DH can spend some time with kids. Now we are back at home and I am cooking a roast dinner as the in-laws are coming over. Lucky me!!

mumof2monsters · 17/06/2007 15:50

Hollyandalice
When is the baby due? Would be nice to meet up with you once the baby comes. Especially as I love babies!!
Let us know how you get on.

CycleIndia2008 · 17/06/2007 17:38

mumof2monsters.. if you let us know which sundays in July you can make hun then we can arrange something from there

OP posts:
hollyandalice · 17/06/2007 20:52

Hi everyone! The baby is due on Tuesday, but I have not much hope of it being on time. My dd was 12 days overdue, so maybe I cook babies for longer! I'm getting a little bit fed up and bored now, so the sooner the better!

We would love to come and meet up soon, the common is good for me, or wherever! Hopefully I shall have a yummy small person for you all to hold by the time the next meet up is arranged!

Speak soon!

Sexonknackeredlegs · 17/06/2007 21:24

Good luck HollyandAlice. I have an 8 week old dd (as well as a 4 year old dd).

Would love to meet up too if that's ok.

Eve34 · 17/06/2007 21:29

holly/alice????????? Good luck with the bump fingers crossed something happens soon.

Bad mummy we have left J with his grandparents for a couple of nights so we can catch up on some sleep adn spend the next few days together before Spence goes to sea. We both cried our eyes out - Spence won't see J til Sept.

Weekend meet sounds fab - am not up to much over the next 3 months - saddo that I am. I house will be like a shiny new pin as I have nothing else to do.........

Eve34 · 17/06/2007 21:30

sorry forgot to say J is 9 months old. SonKL - 4 weeks old how great is that. Do you go to the mums and tots at the church by crestwood school?

Eve34 · 17/06/2007 21:31

opps again 8 week old and 4 year old. Sorry still great though!

Bouquetsofdynomite · 18/06/2007 12:25

Itchen Valley Park is nice, right at the back there's a fenced in picnic area for sitting with littlies, climbing stuff for bigger ones and a huge great field for athletic types.

Eve you poor old thing! But it keeps the romance up I guess.

Holly&Alice - did you ever find some cloth nappies to try? I have loads of cute newborn pre-loved stuff in stock left over from the Nappuccino. You're welcome to come for a cuppa and poke through it all (marching up the hill to Bitterne Park might even set something in motion!.

hollyandalice · 19/06/2007 10:05

Hi BOD, I have been given some Bambinomios and some kushies, so hopefully I'll get on with these. Thanks for thinking of me though!

EDD is today, but no sign of a baby! I wish he would decide to show his face, I'm getting bored of waiting!
