Well, I'm off to bed if no-one's around. Ds is teething at the minute so has been waking during the night this week. Fingers crossed he sleeps through tonight as I am shattered!

Nighty night

pudding77 · 11/01/2007 08:48

Hi sfx, ds was a little better last night, did wake up but a dose of medised seemed to help!

Paddlechick666 · 11/01/2007 14:07

hi all

busy busy busy !!!!

i was thinking about Sue yesterday and the left-over cash/welcome home present idea.

i have two suggestions: vouchers so Sue can choose what she might like.

or, a little more controversially, we could use it to send another care package to the Baby Home.

just a thought.........

Nanou1 · 11/01/2007 14:20

yo paddle! what is happening with sue? i never remember what her website is called.... so have not been in contact for ages. Am struggling here with some pcc minutes i can't tell you.... can't read myself .

trying2bgood · 11/01/2007 14:21

Writing this in the gym so only a little time.
mellow - well done on the job and why are you angry at HSBC manager, what did she say? do you want me to go sort her out for you?
Nanou1 - I nearly stood as a paper candidate for libdems in acton but decided against it just in case I did get voted in!
I am a lib dem member too, do you go to any of the meetings? I always say I will but then can never make it and also feel a bit silly going when I know no one!

Quokka - glad you are a lib dem too! No wonder I like you so much - ok that is a little sad! Will try to pop round to yours next wednesday after tennis if that is ok?

And do I owe someone a tenner? I remember saying before xmas I would contribute.....

May not be able to check threads for another few days and don't plan to return to the gym for a while

and welcome O2beme!!!

Nanou1 · 11/01/2007 14:26

trying2begood... we may even know each other without knowing it!!!!! email me your mobile number ok. i'll call you soon!

2Cute · 11/01/2007 16:59

Pudd - You might have tried it already but Nelsons teething powder (available from Boots) used to really help DS's teething.

Nanou - The way I potty trained DS was by buying his favourite character briefs. It worked a treat because he was worried about getting Thomas dirty so he would tell me when he needed to go. Also a little treat to look forward to everytime she uses the loo maybe?

How's everyone today?

Welcome O2BME - I'm also a SAHM and just down the road from Teddington. We could arrange to meet up next week if you like?

foxabout2pop · 11/01/2007 17:11

2 cute - I used the same method with DS and DD (except I think we used scooby doo and barbie pants )

there is a link to Sue's site somehwhere around here me thinks which Paddle very kindly provided for me.... will have a look

pudding77 · 11/01/2007 17:17

Hi 2cute, yep I've used the Nelson's as well but they don't seem to be working this time! Ds finally let me have a look at his gums today and it looks like he's got 2 coming at the same time so no wonder he's all grizzly! Thanks anyway

Foxie - I don't know if you remember me telling you that I had some raspberry leaf tea you could have but I do and was wondering if you wanted me to post it to you or if you want me to bring it on the 20th?

How's everyone else?

foxabout2pop · 11/01/2007 17:42

Puds - ooh yes please do bring on 20th if |I don't see you beforehand - that would be lovely, thanks

sfxmum · 11/01/2007 17:46

multi sprouting oh teeth ouch when dd had that i was severely sleep deprived hope it's fast

mellownomore · 11/01/2007 21:04

Evening everyone.

I had a very busy first day at work. I was in meetings from the moment I got in through the door until I left at 5.30 pm, except for an hour at lunchtime.

Tomorrow,
I'm going to be in an all day workshop at Harwell, Oxon. So I won't be around either.

t2bg,
Thanks for offering to "beat up" the HSBC bank manager. But I wouldn't want to get you into trouble.

The HSBC branch manager rejected my application for a merchant account (so I could accept card payments) and when I told their card procesing team to explain what happened, she rang me up and was really hostile. I told her where to get off and hung up.

Paddlechick666 · 11/01/2007 21:54

hi mellow

sounds like a busy day! in at the deep end ay?

pud, dd was teething hard over the weekend too. poor bottom was red raw and her pooh was obviously severely toxic.

i use boots teething granules and she does seem to benefit. gave calpol during the day, coated bottom in vaseline finally and gave medised at night but only 2 or 3 mg.

10:30pm saturday night she did a pooh and screamed the house down poor chicken. can't remember the last time i had to change her overnight.

she ended up in with me and slept very well and i loved having a cuddle!

i think it was her existing teeth having a bit of a push as nothing new has arrived and she's started biting my boobs again. that's normally a sign she needs to adjust her latch to allow for new growth.

hope you ds is out of it soon!

should be on more tomorrow - working from home

trying2bgood · 11/01/2007 22:48

nanou1, don't have your email address and have not signed up to use CAT yet. I think u have mine so email me and then I will reply.

quokka · 12/01/2007 08:21

Mellow sounds busy!

Haven't been on here for a while its been like Picadilly circus in this house.

I spoke with the guy who looks after the allotments in the triangle behind me and he says that I can be the next on the list! God knows when I'll get one as he said the only way you'll ever get mine is when I die . But he has siad that the Kids are more than welcome to come and help him anytime in the summer.

Ds1 is teething at the moment as well, so hasn't been sleeping as well as he should! I use those teething granules and calpol during the day. Find that nurofen is better in the night as it lasts 6 hrs instead of 4 (calpol).

Paddlechick666 · 12/01/2007 09:16

Morning all

Quokka, sorry to hear about ds teething. DD is still a bit cranky with it - up at 3am till 4:30

now, I am putting out an early call for anyone who might be able to babysit for me in June!

Yes, that's right, JUNE, 17th to be exact. It's a Sunday and I'm going to see Muse at Wembley Stadium.

This is assuming that a) it's finished and b)dh decides to take me as the tix are his birthday present.

Any takers?

!

pudding77 · 12/01/2007 09:26

morning, last night was better, ds didn't wake up, just up early this morning.

I've been using medised as he seems to have a bit of a cold as well and that helps his breathing more at night than calpol or neurofen.

Anyway, how's everyone? Paddle, I could probably babysit that date if needed.

I've been thinking about work options and what to do this week. As much as I love being home with ds I feel like I need something else to do as well. Quokka, I've CAT-ted you as I need a bit of advice...
