Paddle,
If you like Thai, you should try the Thai/greasy spoon Bedlington Cafe near Chiswick train station. They're delicious and really good value for money.

Yum yum.

uwila · 02/02/2007 10:46

Oh no... I don't know if I want to look at the prices now. DH arranged it, and I was told I wasn't allowed to complain about the cost....

Paddlechick666 · 02/02/2007 10:52

mmm, i'll check that out Mellow!

Uwila, allow your DH to spoil you and don't stress it.

Just have a great night and maybe in a few months time there'll be a new UwilaChick in the nest!

LOL

uwila · 02/02/2007 11:05

No there won't! My parliament is complete.

Paddlechick666 · 02/02/2007 11:07

ahuh!

majorstress · 02/02/2007 11:15

ooh, we have had a Waitrose Quilon or 2 for a special occasion, wonderful flavors... lucky old thing and you don't even have to chuck out all the plastic containers.

uwila · 02/02/2007 11:17

Hey, you are not in West London. Get off our thread!

Paddlechick666 · 02/02/2007 11:33

ignore Uwila, she's having a paddy coz Quokka is meeting Daniel right now!!!

uwila · 02/02/2007 11:43

Piss off, paddle.

majorstress · 02/02/2007 11:45

aww, please, west london is sooooo trendy and cool.

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 02/02/2007 11:58

Oh dear I'm afriad that Quokka has just left and is going to gloat big time that she met Daniel before Uwila.

The Coffee Pot on the London road half way between Hounslow and Isleworth also does great Thai food and does takeaway.

comeoveneer · 02/02/2007 11:58

I was free this morning but felt a bit weird about inviting myself along. I sort of get this feeling the "oldies" should have first dibs on meeting Daniel. Instead I've out and spent a fortune on pink stuff and paint to decorate dd's room. I can't take any more complaining from her about having a blue room (we've only been here 3 weeks!)

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 02/02/2007 11:58

where are you majorstress and why are you lurking in West London?

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 02/02/2007 12:00

You are silly CoV you should have come, though would have been great sport telling Uwila how many people met Daniel before her...

comeoveneer · 02/02/2007 12:01

Thanks Sue, but I wasn't sure how many where going and I was worried it may be too overwhelming for Daniel, but another time for sure. Plus Uwila scares me .

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 02/02/2007 12:03

For the record I live very close to M&S cafe in Kew and fairly close to Kew Gardens so generally up for visits to both. When I go back to work I will still be around Friday, Sat Sun (being single and having no friends).

I have already hit the single friend with no children problem...

visit a few days ago, she arrived 6pm and left at 8.30pm despite me saying repeatedly "I must go and give Daniel his bath and put him to bed"

Live and learn, will just throw her out at 7pm next time.

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 02/02/2007 12:03

Uwila scared everyone CoV, we stick together in groups of at least 3 if we are going to meet her...

majorstress · 02/02/2007 12:06

well not really lurking I sometimes feel compelled to stick my posts in where they aren't welcome. I'm in north London, which is surely trendy and cool too (surely?), but I used to live out west....

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 02/02/2007 12:07

[gasp]

we are being lurked at by a north londoner!

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 02/02/2007 12:08

and I dont think west london is trendy or cool (at least not my bit of it) - it is suburban

majorstress · 02/02/2007 12:09

Daniel's mummy I would have done the bedtime routine as per usual anyway and made her help me (she could always leave). But I was a devotee of books which are not mentionable so wedded to the clock.

majorstress · 02/02/2007 12:14

I guess it's the quality of the meet up thread that makes West London stand out

uwila · 02/02/2007 12:15

[waving finger furiously emoticon]

Don't believe them, Majorstress. They are all a bunch of bullies.

comeoveneer · 02/02/2007 12:16

We still have far too many single or child free friends. At dh's birthday party on Saturday we had one (single) friend stay until 3.30am (2 and a half hours after everyone else had left), saying how much he wanted to settle down and have kids etc. Ours woke at 7.00am . Like you say, they don't get it.

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 02/02/2007 12:16

well I haven't read any books (not even uinmentionable ones) but I do try to stick to a routing at bedtime as he's had no many changes it gives him a little security. Am more flexible during the day. Hadn;t realised beofre how your heart sinks when someone wants to visit after 6pm. Will ban it in future unless they are prepared to amuse themselves untila fetr he's in bed...
