Time for a new general chat thread

HAPPY NEW YEAR

so nice to have you back Sue . when my dd found it difficult to sleep or was upset i would put some classical music on and it really helped her calm down. you tell us when you feel daniel is ready - the party can wait!!! the priority is for him to settle in nicely. so... how does it feel to say "my son" ; i remember feeling so special and proud to say "my daughter" when dd was just born .

sfxmum · 25/01/2007 13:10

lovely to see you back SJ
dd is pretty poor sleeper too so sympathies
i dare say you will get used to the choice but whether you will have the opportunity to make them with child in toe is quite another matter

Nanou1 · 25/01/2007 13:11

sfxmum - you are so right - well said!!!! you well?

uwila · 25/01/2007 13:20

I was thinking that too, SFX. Sue, life is not about YOU anymore. The choices are not yours. Get used to it.

MrsBigD · 25/01/2007 14:34

oh but they are... as long as you choose to choose what your little one chooses

OP posts:
sfxmum · 25/01/2007 14:38

grrrr!
child nearly asleep, relative calls to chat
child nearly asleep, some stupid sales call
child nearly asleep, leaf blower outside
i give up she will drop off eventually, probably just before dinner....

oh what a beautiful day oh what a beautiful afternoon la la la

dd decided to hide yesterday while i did the dishes, giving me a terrible fright, had visions of her lying unconscious somewhere in the flat but no, after frantic sweep of rooms calling her name, the little monkey pops her head from under the coffee table saying - hiding mummy

nanou i am ok thanks

Nanou1 · 25/01/2007 14:45

lol sfxmum! reminds me of my sister when she was little. the only difference is that she had fallen asleep!!!!! (she's hidden under the stairs!) we were beyond ourselves with worry!!!

foxabout2pop · 25/01/2007 15:46

sfx - my phone always rings when I'm in the shower. In fact people only ever call when I'm in the shower

WTF are those stupid leaf blowers for anyway??? I mean, who invented those stupid things?

foxabout2pop · 25/01/2007 15:49

BTW have all the book swap people confirmed whether the suggested date for the next one is OK??

I know you haven't - that's why I'm asking

uwila · 25/01/2007 15:52

OI! This is NOT the book swap thread.

Nanou1 · 25/01/2007 15:58

there is just one thing to do then foxie ... stop washing . dont know - 10 or 17 feb was it?

Nanou1 · 25/01/2007 15:59

uwila! i can hear you "barking" from here!!!!! pmsl

foxabout2pop · 25/01/2007 16:06

Dearest Uwila

I am aware that this is not the book thread. However, a number of people have not replied to the suggested date, which I placed on the said book thread. I am merely highlighting the fact that people need to go to the book thread and answer the question I placed there.

[pokes tongue out rudely]

Nanou1 · 25/01/2007 16:19

now now ... pmsl

foxabout2pop · 25/01/2007 16:27

Have just been really arsey with BT Broadband and got them to agree the following package, after I threatened to switch to Tiscali:

6 months at £15.95 (to include line rental, unlimited broadband 8mb, free calls to landline numbers 24/7)

12 months same package at £33.94

Its amazing what a formal complaint can do

BTW Please don't tell me that that is actually not a very good deal!!

foxabout2pop · 25/01/2007 16:27

I mean 6 months at £33.94, not 12

uwila · 25/01/2007 16:33

Nanou1, the only reason you can hear me is because I don't bark like a French girl

WOOF WOOF

sfxmum · 25/01/2007 16:41

for some insane reason i really fancy going to Glasto this year i suppose the urge will disappear as i think, in more detail, of the last time i was there
oh but i want to...

foxie not sure but it sound quite good, nothing like a good complaint
the most fruitful for me was when i got quite annoyed that my glasses were not ready on the second date they gave me to collect them, as i was due to leave on hols that pm
not only were the glasses ready within 2hrs but i also got a huge box of chocs from M&S

Nanou1 · 25/01/2007 16:42

right.... outside!
NNNNOOOOOOOOWWWWW !!!!!

Nanou1 · 25/01/2007 16:47

when one is stressed out, there is nothing like having a go at someone... i cant believe i am saying this.... poor sod at the receiving end... i am actually not good at much but that i am. but i bet uwila is very very good at this

uwila · 25/01/2007 16:52

When our car wasn't ready as it was suppose to be a couple of weeks ago, they gave me a loaner car.

Nanou, I've been outside waiting. Did you chicken out? ruff ruff

Nanou1 · 25/01/2007 16:59

ruf ruf!
am going home my lovelies! have a nice evening and see you all tomorrow. xx and well done foxie!

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 25/01/2007 17:21

Book swap thread? There's a book swap thread?! How long have I been away?!

MrsBigD · 25/01/2007 17:43

You were gone a long time, but never fear we haven't forgotten you and it's never too late to join the book swap SJ
