Welcome back Daniel's mummy Don't go making any plans to join the book club til you run it past your little boss .

uwila · 26/01/2007 08:24

Oi, Sue! Why does your profile say you have no children?????

sfxmum · 26/01/2007 14:15

hello all

back from bracing walk in Kew, there was still snow in places much to dd's delight and the pond was mostly frozen with seagulls and ducks standing / skating on top

mrsD dh is working so can be back up for tomorrow.

hope you all well

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 26/01/2007 15:39

Uwila - I can't work out how to change number of children - founf everything else but not that!

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 26/01/2007 15:41

And had Kew membership from my brother for Xmas - so am definitely a Kew mummy now!

MrsBigD - can I let you know over the weekend about visiting, we are still suffering quite badly form jet-lag but am obviously hoping it will be much better next week.

JackieNo · 26/01/2007 15:48
Paddlechick666 · 26/01/2007 15:51

ooh Jackie, where abouts are you in Oxfordshire?

uwila · 26/01/2007 15:54

What do you mean about visiting? Does this mean MrsBigD get to meet him before the rest of us?

sfxmum · 26/01/2007 15:54

a Kew membership is essential to a mothers sane mind round these parts i think, shame about the tourists

JackieNo · 26/01/2007 15:55

paddlechick - I'm near Didcot.

uwila · 26/01/2007 15:56

And a kew membership card is transferrable. WEl, not technically, but it ain't got no pic so who's gonna know?

Paddlechick666 · 26/01/2007 15:58

ah, the beautiful chimneys and the train museum!

parents are near Kidlington.......

kew membership is definately a must when your own back garden doesn't run to an indoor soft play area, cafe/restaurant and Santa Grotto not to mention gift shops oh and large expanses of botanical bits n bobs!

JackieNo · 26/01/2007 15:59

paddlechick - I'm quite fond of the power station - it means we're almost home.

Paddlechick666 · 26/01/2007 16:00

my mother just renewed hers and they gave her double the visitor passes by mistake and then a few days later sent her another 6!!!!

they're valid till June 2008 too.

so, i can always snaffle a few if we decided to have a West London Posse & Friends picnic in the summer.

Paddlechick666 · 26/01/2007 16:02

actually i think they're quite beautiful in terms of their shape etc.

always a fond memory of hooning into Didcot to catch the train that I missed at Oxford after step-father has driven like a maniac to get me there LOL!

used to live/work Bath, Bristol, Swindon too so many a time i've seen your chimneys

uwila · 26/01/2007 16:07

Jeez, Paddle, when haven't you lived/worked/travelled?

MrsBigD · 26/01/2007 16:09

SJ no worries, if you're not up to it then I'll just deposit the package with SFX or Foxie or Paddle or or or . DD took 2 weeks to get over jet lag but we had 11h difference coming back from NZ. So guessing your ds should be ok after about 1 week

Uwila, the only reason I MIGHT get to see sj's ds before everybody else is that I'm moving next Friday and want to 'off load' the things I have kept out for them .

DH just texted saying her forgot about Burns night yesterday (my plan to keep quiet failed)
and that he might get an Haggis for the weekend well counting on his failing memory...

2Cute · 26/01/2007 16:27

I'm rather jealous of all this Book club talk so I suggest all of us non book worms set up a rival Chit Chat Club! And we're not even going to bother pretending that we're talking about books not gossiping

How's the packing going BigD? Amazing how much crap we accumulate and forget about isn't it?

MrsBigD · 26/01/2007 16:34

2cute you are so right... I'm filling plenty of black bags with 'rubbish'. Already have a few boxes packed, but it seems like we still have gazillion of things to pack.

Pudding I might come round again next week to steal a few more boxes and no noisy toys that time I promise

Hmm am about 24 hours behind here.....

The best two complaints have harvested:

£75 from Laura Ashley

Two bottles of wine and £1,000 from our mortgage broker

I grew up in Kew and its a local tradition to let as many people as possible borrow one's Kew Gardens pass. The staff are really laid back anyway

Paddle did you like Bath/Bristol/Swindon - if we migrate from London we'd probably haed down there - either ther or near Brighton. Have you lived in Brighton too?

uwila · 26/01/2007 18:33

I'll join the rival club -- solong as it isn't about bridge.

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 26/01/2007 20:02

My mum is a brighton girl and my friend Liz moved there about 6 months ago. I love it, would move there too one day maybe. My brother lives at a cheaper inland town about 20 mins from Brighton. Love the sea...

uwila · 26/01/2007 20:06

Ah, but have you got Daniel's permission? Remember he makes the rules now. And I think he might be more of the inland bitter cold snow on the ground type.

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 26/01/2007 20:08

He'll just have to learn... I keep walking outside saying - "it's sooooo warm". The neighbours think I'm mad.
