HAPPY NEW YEAR

day 1 of new childminder and at 7:06am my dd is still asleep!

why can't she do this on saturday and sunday?!?!

don't worry, she's breathing!

she's got to be at CM in 50 mins!

this is going to break my heart, but i'm going to have to go wake her up!

ps: foxie, dip the croissant in the chocolate and feel truly french!

MrsBigD · 22/01/2007 07:12

PC, I used to have the odd day where dd was still asleep when it was time to take her to the cm. I just packed her into the car in her pj's and took her clothes with her

MrsBigD · 22/01/2007 07:55

I think dd must be ill... she demanded carrots for her fruit break for school!

uwila · 22/01/2007 08:35

Oh you big softies! It's lights on at 6am in the little Uwilas' room. It's either "wakey wakey!" or I don't see them before I leave in the morning. And I am not going to not see them.

uwila · 22/01/2007 08:38

Oh yes, and thanks Quokka, the party was fun. DD asked on the way home if she could have a treat since she hadn't weed in her pants all day. I said No, you just had three pieces of cake and that's enough for the rest of the day". I drove for while and then she said "Actually, Mummy, I found another piece. I had four pieces" So, apparently, it was tasty.

foxabout2pop · 22/01/2007 08:43

Uwila - your DD is a girl after me own heart

Well, you'll all be proud of me; for brekkie I had 2 weetabix, a warmed croissant with melterd butter and nine squares of cadbury's choc

Need my strength as I have to kick butt in a meeting later today.

Paddle - good luck with new CM today. DD is so sociable I'm sure she'll adapt

Today is the most depressing day of the year apparently, so chins up girls!!

Paddlechick666 · 22/01/2007 09:10

i should've used dd's extra snooze time to shower but confess to staying in bed myself LOL.

going to use some time today to sort out my desk (utter chaos), tidy up and sort out dd's old clothes and figure out what still fits her!

will also attempt to find the newborn stuff for you foxie. pud will also look for that footmuff for you!

MrsB, fitted the new seat in CMs car but not sure if we got it right! does the belt just pass thru the back of the seat under the red clip things?

foxabout2pop · 22/01/2007 09:28

Paddle - the desks used by my team at work (with me leading by example) are so untidy, that our H&S officer describes them as a H&S hazrad!!

None of my new year's resolutions were about having a tidy desk though

pudding77 · 22/01/2007 10:24

Thanks paddle, I've been looking on ebay as well but they still sell for too much!!

Well, ds was so tired out he didn't even wake up to moan about his teeth last night - yayy! Just for giving me a proper night's sleep I can forgive him for waking up at 6.30am!

Off to take him swimming now - catch you later!

MrsBigD · 22/01/2007 10:30

Paddle, yes part of the seat belt goes through the red clip thingies just make sure it's tight enough and the seat is secure

Uwila, 4 pieces of cake?! healthy appetite! DD was complaining that she didn't get any cake... well she wanted to leave before it was cake time so tough luck I know I'm mean

foxabout2pop · 22/01/2007 10:45

Mine made fairy cakes when they got home - inspired by the cooking lesson our resident domestic goddess nanou gave them the other week.

They had 4 fairy cakes each B4 bed

Paddlechick666 · 22/01/2007 11:05

okay, tell me I'm not a fool for keeping a load of newborn stuff and my maternity clothes..........

think i'll still sell the car seat and bumbo tho. i'd get a diff seat and sling if there were a 2nd baby so....

foxie, have found a bunch of newborn boy babygrows plus the nightgowns and snowsuit and some cellular blankets - all coming your way.

pud, no luck with the muff yet. the loft is a bit chaotic I'm afraid.

having said that keep an eye on MN sellers - i've seen 2 buggy snuggles going for £10ish recently

well, no word from CM as yet so assume all well.

got a headache !

quokka · 22/01/2007 11:09

thanks so much for all coming! Both boys had a great time and thanks for the trampoline and other pressies - huge success.

Sorry to those of you who I walked off mid conversation, but there was so much going on it was pretty hard to concentrate!

Dh says he put hiS foot in it a couple of times, so apologies if it was any of you lot but he was really jetlagged!

Paddlechick666 · 22/01/2007 11:25

ooh Quokka, tell us how dh put his foot in it LOL!

you guys were perfect hosts, kids parties are always mental.

i came home and finished off my lavender chocolate - asleep by 10pm!!

quokka · 22/01/2007 11:28

well he said to one of our neighbours - "so are you one of the mumnetters?" Then she said "No I live at number 60, whats mumsnet?"

Paddlechick666 · 22/01/2007 11:30

pmsl! i didn't think we were allowed to mention MN!

quokka · 22/01/2007 13:22

well I wasn't but I thought he might ask where I met all these people . He had a great time so that was a bonus.

ComeOVeneer · 22/01/2007 13:32

Hi all. Hope you all had a good weekend. Sorry I had to bail out of Saturday night, but dh was so ill he couldn't handle the kids. I will certainly make the next one though. So is their anything (day or evening) in the pipeline? I haven't had much time to MN atm as you can imagine having justmoved, but am stuck in today waiting for dh's new computer to be delivered (between 9am and 6pm, but what is the bet it turns up whilst I am on the school run?) and ds is napping.

uwila · 22/01/2007 13:33

At least he doesn't go round yelling out "Mumsnet!" in random crowds, like someone else's DH....

foxabout2pop · 22/01/2007 13:38

paddle - thanks re the boys stuff - how come you've got boys gear anyway?

I'b be interested in buying the bumbo - but is it pink?

MrsBigD · 22/01/2007 13:39

Foxie did Paddle give you the bag with the jackets and pj's yesterday? or does is still rest comfortably in her car?

OP posts:
foxabout2pop · 22/01/2007 13:46

OMG yes!!!! Sorry, I've put it in the hall - DD was going through it and trying on those all in one sleepy suit thinks - she loved them!

Sorry MrsD I forgot to thank you for them!!

How is your DD today?

MrsBigD · 22/01/2007 14:15
