Hi I am new to Mumsnet, I saw the great review in The Sunday Times, and simply had to look! I was just wondering if there are any stay at home Mums in Norfolk? I live in King's Lynn and am at home with my 17 month old son Jack. Jack and I try to get out as often as money permits, with only Richard (hubby) working, not always possible, although I do my little bit with Avon!!
Please contact me and maybe we can organise days out and meets etc.........

Thanks for that, always good to see what's on, even when you live here. There were some things on there that I hadn't even thought of doing with Jack especially over Easter with the hubby too!

I go to Norwich as often as possible for shopping and of course for Primark, what a great shop, we don't have one in KL......infact we don't have much in KL full stop!

welcome to mn jodiemay.i live on tennyson avenue.dd is 3 years old.not very much to do do in kings lynn is there!.there are two mum and toddler groups i like taking dd to.homestart is the first one which is at the bottom of the railway station car park(brick buliding with red doors).they are open tue-fri,9.45 to 11.45.it is run by the government.there is quite a lot for the kids to do like painting, playdough etc and its free!.the other place is at the gaywood church rooms although you have to pay 1.20 per adult.planet zoom at gaywood is quite nice and there is another place like it at guyhirn(these have ball pits and areas for tiny tots as well.i hope this helps anyone.would be nice to meet up with the rest of you sometime.

mum28 · 05/04/2004 09:51

the one at gaywood church rooms is open mondays and thursdays 9.45 to 11.15.neither of these open in the holidays though

jodiemay · 05/04/2004 09:58

The one in the railway station car park sounds good. Where exactly is that? I have never heard of it and I can't place the building either. Is there a contact number? Thanks for the info though!

if you have a car go the same way as for morrisons, matalan.the railway station has two car parks, one on the left and one on the right.it is down the bottom of the one nearest the church, but park in the supermarket car park otherwise you have to buy a expensive parking ticket.

jodiemay · 05/04/2004 10:11

Is it open tomorrow? If not when does it reopen? I would really like to take ds there, it sounds good, especially as it's foc!

hello mum28... glad theres a few of us!. I'm 29, married, currently sahm... till october when i start my phd - but will still be based from home.

mum28 · 05/04/2004 11:01

does anyone else think k.l has gone downhill since they have started working in the town.i hope it's going to be worth it!how on earth do you entertain a toddler for two weeks, especially as i have no car so can't travel.any ideas?

jodiemay · 05/04/2004 11:02

There's absolutely nothing to do in King's Lynn especially for us SAHM where money is not so easy to come by. Maybe we all need to make our own entertainment! If we can get some more King's Lynners on her, we could arrange days out, take it in turns to drive, share petrol money etc, then we can all have fun at minimum costs!

sounds good! I'm new to KL too, only lived here 7 weeks, although know plenty of people and can find my way round. Do either of you go to Sandringham Woods for walks? I took my sister and her dd but there was a strange bloke and we had to do a runner!

mum28 · 05/04/2004 11:07

i was thinking about taking dd to planet zoom one day.how about it?

jodiemay · 05/04/2004 11:08

Jack and I sometimes go over there for a run/walk/buggy push/game of football! It's nicer in the summer, then there's Snettisham Park Farm, that I shall def go to in the summer! We should start a new thread for meeting up one morning to get to know each other and each other's kids and then arrange outings, then post on MN for more company
