I'd like to meet up but mine are at school. We are in Thundridge near Knebworth/Hertford. By the looks of it most people are near the A1 around or north of Stevenage so where is a good meeting place there?

Hmmmn SecondhandRose if we were to meet in Stevenage then there's the Leisure Park - easy to get to from the train station for rail travellers and free parking for those driving. There's loads of foody places to grab a bite and chat, I think Fatty Arbuckles and Frankie & Benny's are very good for kids, or there's Pizza (Ask)...

If we meet in Hitchin for Mumpleasemayi then there's Cafe Rouge which always accommodates our buggies and noisy nippers

Anyone fancy any of those, or somewhere better ?

PiccadillyCircus · 22/02/2006 13:25

Cafe Rouge would be nice . If we met on a Monday or Wednesday it would be just DD and me, DS is included on Tuesdays, Thrsdays and Fridays.

Stevenage also good.

mumpleasemayi · 22/02/2006 14:51

Hi all,
Cafe rouge would be good for me,I live just out side Hitchin in St Ippolyts so walikng distance for me.

hi, there im in stevenage...wouldnt mind tagging along for a meet up! i dont drive..so if its bus-able then im there!

teabelly · 22/02/2006 16:42

Hitchin seems popular then - is it ok if we do it in mid March tho so that I know whether dd has caught ds's chickenpox - would hate to pass it on, or worse still miss a good meetup

Faeriemum I'm sure there's a bus from Stevenage to Hitchin, must be mustn't there?

Georgiesmum ??
Codysmummy ??
SecondhandRose ??
Misdee & sis ??

Anyone else fancy it?

PiccadillyCircus · 22/02/2006 16:44

DS and DD have both had chicken pox .

I'm sure there is a bus from Steenagre to Hitchin.

PiccadillyCircus · 22/02/2006 16:44

Or even Stevenage .

I blame DD entirely

teabelly · 22/02/2006 16:57

Blimey she was young to get it? I was hoping that at 8mths dd may still have some of my immunity...

faeriemum · 22/02/2006 18:42

yep i've checked..there is a bus from stevenage to hitchen ...goes to the place where the market is....will need really detailed directions from then onwards!
oh have a ds of 22months btw

SecondhandRose · 22/02/2006 19:29

Hitchin is fine by me, is the rumour true about decent shopping in Hitchin or am I dreaming?

Hi Alibubbles, have been busy running the NCT house swap register for them and doing holiday rentals here, can you believe Ware is a popular holiday destination!!

Would be good to meet up - finally!

SecondhandRose · 22/02/2006 19:47

Me again, local ladies - see my post today on 'products' about a bargain shop in Hoddesdon GLTC clothes all only 50p and brand new.

mumpleasemayi · 22/02/2006 20:27

Being 30 is great (I was thirty last September) .

DD was about 6 weeks when she got chicken pox, despite my having had it and being totally breastfed. She was pretty spotty (although not too ill) so I hope she won't get it again.

SecondHandRose - I used to live in Hertford and can't imagine Ware being that popular a holiday destination . Do you think anyone would want to have a holiday in Henlow (don't answer that one ). I used to teach in Hoddesdon in one of my previous lives - I might head off down the A10 and go there.

SecondhandRose · 23/02/2006 07:31

Hi PC, yes they could stay at yours and go to Henlow Grange for the day instead of spending extortionate amounts staying there!

QE2 · 23/02/2006 07:35

Room for another little one on this meet up??

I'm in Bedford but Hitchin/Stevenage is not too far for me to drive to......?

SecondhandRose · 23/02/2006 17:22

Well, I think that Hitchin does have a few nice shops so how about we meet there? Everyone agreed?

mumpleasemayi · 23/02/2006 17:26

fine by me.

teabelly · 24/02/2006 12:59

Great Hitchin it is.

QE2, I was going to put a 'call' out for you to join us when we'd decided on a place Fab that you can come too.

Faerie - will give directions later - very easy tho to find Cafe Rouge

Soooo - a date then?? I can do any mon/thurs pm/fri/sat...? how about others...

Would like mid march onwards please so that we can be sure of being pox free

Picc - poor you having a toddler and 6 week old come down with the pox, luckily for us dd seems to have missed getting it this time, no sign of spots yet...a few more days yet to be sure

Oh to be 30 again I'll be the grandma looking one in the corner when we meet!

Wills · 24/02/2006 13:00

Would like to join you as well but am only going on mat leave in the last week of March......

SecondhandRose · 24/02/2006 13:50

Mon/Thurs/Friday good for me too. Would rather avoid Sat as have and 11 yr old and 7 yr old who will be "so bored".

Tabs · 25/02/2006 16:48

Hi all - I might be up for joining you if that's alright? I'm in Kimpton/Whitwell area, so Hitchin is perfect for me. I have one DD who is a whole 2 1/2 weeks old! I have to be in for h/v on Mondays for next 4 weeks, but should be able to do Thurs/Fri, or take pot luck on whether h/v can come early on Mondays.

spacecadet · 25/02/2006 16:51

id love to meet up with you all but im the other side of cambridge, ely side so hitchin is just a little bit too far...its not fair...

SecondhandRose · 26/02/2006 09:05

How about the week starting Monday 13th March? Not too far away or we'll all forget. Alibubbles are you coming?
