Meet-ups

When meeting up take sensible precautions. Meet in a public place and let others know where you are going.

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell wants to meet YOU in MANCHESTER! You lucky lucky things!

Not told dh yet, but I thought it would be nice to arrange a little Mumsnet meet-up whilst I'm back. Also cause some people in that area couldn't make the Christmas London meet-up. So YorkieGirl, Amanda1, Janh, Tinker and others, do you fancy it or what?

Manchester would be better for me as I can get the train there. Although I could make Liverpool too, it just means getting 2 trains instead of one. So who else wants to come then?

Sunday 18th December. Meeting at the Moon Under Water, Deansgate (a few doors down from Daisy&Toms) @ 1pm. Not sure about food.

fennel · 01/12/2005 12:24

but who is ShortandStripy? someone already on the list or a new person?

ShortAndStripySolsticer · 01/12/2005 12:24

Thanks NDP!

NomDePlumPudding · 01/12/2005 12:25

, I'll be the mildly frantic one having spent 3 hours on a train the morning after DH's work night out [probably hungover emoticon]

fennel · 01/12/2005 12:27

would like to say i'll be the cool collected and very witty popular one.

in fact will probably be the first at the bar drinking too many red wines too quickly and then collapsing in a little heap, surrounded by totally sober and composed mumsnetters.

ShortAndStripySolsticer · 01/12/2005 12:28

Sorry Fennel, just posted my change on the Christmas name list :

I was BahHumbugBadgerBadger but there are so many Bah's at this stage that it's reminiscent of a nativity over run with loud, wooly creatures

ShortAndStripySolsticer · 01/12/2005 12:30

I'll be the one standing outside the door debating over whether to go in or not, for a good half hour!

bosscat · 01/12/2005 12:39

stoopid question but how will we know each other especially if most aren't bringing children? shall we wear a red rose in our lapel? name badges? carry copies of vogue?

NomDePlumPudding · 01/12/2005 12:59

I'm 5'7", glasses, probably wearing a knee length black tweedy wool coat. Chin length dark hair.

Cliffy preparing for the meet-up

gingerbear · 01/12/2005 13:32

3 hours for train from here to Manchester? and two train changes, and £26 return? And trains back are 1500, 1535 or 1800!
I think I will probably drive and be tee-total.

gingerbear · 01/12/2005 13:33

Love the Christmas jumper Cliff

NomDePlumPudding · 01/12/2005 13:33

Mine is 3h+ each way. £38.50 return !

OComeOliveFaithfOil · 01/12/2005 13:34

olive in her scruffs off to Asda

bosscat · 01/12/2005 13:34

well I'm 6 foot. long glossy dark hair. fabulously slim and people have said I look like Eva Longoria. Not really. I'm 5'5, size 14 on a good day, blonde highlighted to hell and back long'ish hair and will probably be wearing a camel colour coat.

gingerbear · 01/12/2005 13:35

NDP, you must be desperate for a drink in Manchester. Or are you one of the 3 Kings come to worship, bringing Gold?

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 01/12/2005 13:36

We'll all meet at the bar and then choose a fairly obvious table, howsat?

I'll have you all know too that the jumper was a Christmas present from me mum!

Cor Olive looks rough these days, doesn't she ?

I should imagine Oldham's a bit chilly for that sort of get-up.

fennel · 01/12/2005 13:38

perhaps we could have a large card on the table to show where we are. but NOT saying "Mumsnet internet meet-up" (there might be people I know in Manchester on a Sunday).

bosscat · 01/12/2005 13:38

thats a good idea cliffrich, won't be hard to miss a large group of women and then we can all go the table together.

NomDePlumPudding · 01/12/2005 13:38

Ginge, I'm a Manc so any excuse to come back is taken up with great enthusiasm !
