Not told dh yet, but I thought it would be nice to arrange a little Mumsnet meet-up whilst I'm back. Also cause some people in that area couldn't make the Christmas London meet-up. So YorkieGirl, Amanda1, Janh, Tinker and others, do you fancy it or what?

Manchester would be better for me as I can get the train there. Although I could make Liverpool too, it just means getting 2 trains instead of one. So who else wants to come then?

Sorry I can't make it either.......BUT be prepared, I was in town yesterday afternoon and the place was heaving - the Christmas markets are certainly pulling them in, and we walked down Deansgate and they were coming out of the door of The Moon Under Water....you may need to carry rolled up newspapers to spot each other Or someone get there for when it opens to bag a good spot!!

I've been into town today, nightmare! I'd imagine that it will be worse at the weekends. I'll try and make it but having a xmas do with the neighbours sat pm so might be too worse for wear on Sunday!

Dukes 92 - posh foodie type pub, but very nice, at the end of Deansgate near Museum of Science and Industry? Does lots of cheese and pate lunches.

Dukes 92 nice but also likely to be heaving on a Sunday lunchtime.

How about the end near the Granada Studios thing, there aren't any shops down there, is there a decent place near there?
There is that Hotel opp Granada Studios, I think it's Queen Victoria or something like that. It has a bar and probably does food. Anyone know it?

Maybe the place mentioned earlier in the thread, the one near the canal that Janh knows of? That would be out of the way of shoppers if it's the Sackville St/Canal St area.

Cliff, I hate to do this to you, but I may not be able to make it. DD has a temperture and earache and I have been comforting her as she has been waking every hour since 7pm. Hope she will be better by Sunday and we can still come. I will keep you posted on how she is.

Have you thought about Brannigans on Peter St?(of Most Haunted fame!!)It's big enough, not far from Deansgate and at 3pm should be before the typical Brannigans hoards descend on the place!

Given that folk are dropping like flies, and that Mcr city centre will be like the seventh circle of Hell the weekend before Christmas, and that I'll have to drag myself out of bed hung over and horrible to sit on a god forsaken train for an age, I'm going to bow out of this one too. I'd love to come but I can forsee stress levels peaking at 10am, count me in for the next one. Sorry folks.

NDP - it's a shame isn't it - I feel bad I've dropped out, but I definitely would love to go to the next. The sad thing is though Cliff is only here for a short time so we'll miss meeting her

Oh no, I'm dropping out too. My monster in law has now said she is definitely coming on sunday and to top it off we got a call last night by dh's aunt saying they were throwing a xmas party on sunday and they are leaving the country in the new year. combined with the monster in law aspect who would come to the party with us this has tipped dh over the edge and he says it will be really mean if I don't go with them all. I really wanted to come and meet you all, definitely the next one and I hope you all have a great time.
