Am so excited GetOrf will be wearing a jump suit!

Methods & Magna, you know what you should do! Grin

Shodan, dress & flats are in the running for me too. Excellent choice. Glamour and comfort combined.

But I think I might just do what I always end up wearing...jeans and pretty top. [safe & boring emoticon]

FFS pag.
Perhaps a more descriptive title for this thread would have been:
"MN Spring Meet-up: the one where methods troutslaps pag"

Anyone else having a slight wobble that they're off to London to meet a gang of almost complete strangers? Blush

Shodan · 16/05/2011 16:23

No, not really, Blathers.

I'm a bit wobbly about checking into a hotel on my own though.

notinmypocket · 16/05/2011 16:29

No, but I'm fearless stupid

bigTillyMint · 16/05/2011 16:36

Are you panicking about coming to London (totally unfounded) or meeting a group of almost complete strangers (me too!)

Would LOVE to be checking into a hotel on my own, but can't justify it as I only live down the road!

Blatherskite · 16/05/2011 16:57

I can cope with the London bit. Have lots of London friends but I usually stay with one so don't have to do the train home late/early, drunk and alone!!

It's the group of almost complete strangers bit that has me slightly wobbly. You might all be axe murderers Grin

PurveyorOfBaloney · 16/05/2011 17:28

Blathers I have been dithering for that very reason. Talked it through with DP last night and he was a bit Confused about the whole possible hairy handed trucker thing. He was half seriously proposing to come and stay up in town too so that he could drop me off at the venue personally Shock Grin

The thing I'm most worried about though is the thought of you all being real. I'm not sure that I'm prepared for some of my (mis)conceptions to be shattered! I mean you are all just words on a screen - aren't you?

methodsandmaterials · 16/05/2011 17:34

Are you far? If it eases your DP's mind, why not let him drop you off?
Also, there's a FB group that you can join once you pay. You'll see that there's not a hairy trucker among us..

OP posts:
Blatherskite · 16/05/2011 17:40

If I've taken the plunge Baloney, you can too.

We really are all real people and there isn't a hairy knuckled trucker among us - the axe murderer bit is yet to be seen Grin

PurveyorOfBaloney · 16/05/2011 17:43

methods, we're about an hour out of Waterloo so to make a night of it would probably mean staying up in town. No way I'm going to have DP 'escort' me - what to do with the kids for a start Grin. I have met people off t'internet before so I have form (not for an overnighter though)

Really though, I just can't imagine that you are all real. I picture myself cowed in a corner by gorgeous, stylish, erudite, funny women and I'll be too much in awe to open my gob Confused

Also, I've gone by so many names on here, what would I call myself (probably nobody knows me anyway)

methodsandmaterials · 16/05/2011 17:43

I don't even have a bloody driving licence.
And my knuckles are as smooth as billiard balls.

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 16/05/2011 17:45

Come on Baloney, I'll stand with you in the corner[smile[
What were your other names?

PurveyorOfBaloney · 16/05/2011 17:55

LOL at the billiard balls. Ponders if there will be a bouncer at the door checking everyones knuckles for requisite non-hirsute-ness (or a strong whiff of Immac)

TillyMint, you're on (if I make it Grin). As for other names, well some will have to remain shrouded in the mists of time, but I have mostly been PurveyorOfxxxx or PaganOfxxxx recently and was mylifewithstrangers not too long ago.

methodsandmaterials · 16/05/2011 17:55

Well there are lots of people coming who have never met a soul, and you can call yourself whatever you like!

Judging by MN and the FB group, yes, loads of 'em are beautiful / funny / scarily clever etc. etc. but they are also bloody nice!

Look, if you live so close by, what's the worst that can happen? You arrive, realise that its for you and then you make your apologies and leave. And, you've said yourself that you have loads of nicknames so its not as though you'll have massively outed yourself...Plus, you'll be kicking yourself if you don't come.

OK, I have nothing more to say Grin
