Hmmm, not sure. I think people who start their drinking that early in the morning prefer Tennets Super Grin

thefirstMrsDeVere · 23/05/2011 22:32

Can I tell you my quote of the evening?

I was discussing drinks at the bar. It all looked like wine. I was a bit worried.

I said to Justine 'do they just do wine? Do they do anything else?'

Justine said 'they can do whatever you want. what do you like?#

I said ' Do they do smirnoff Ice'

Justine 'Whats smirnoffice? ' Puzzled look.

Hahahahahahhaha.

Made me larf anyways.

Grin
Al0uiseG · 23/05/2011 22:37

Hahaha!

Valpollicella · 23/05/2011 22:39

Ahahahaha, brilliant MrsDeVere

I reckon we should get in touch with Smirnoff and see if they'll send Justine a case of it. You know, as a media/PR exercise

EggyAllenPoe · 23/05/2011 22:43

methods dress was great - cobalt blue LK Bennett. The Bomb.

i could swim in purveyors eyes

I was very proud to be a mumsnetter.

I thought you wanting Smirnoff Ice was very funny because it shows you don't give a toss, that Justine was non-plussed by it is even funnier! and they only had san mig. I thought i'd stick to pints with the aim of not getting too drunk. Oh well!

the time went so quickly, i kept onthinking i had hours and could get around everyone, and then Dh was sudenly telling me to move my bum cos it was 11....

Shodan · 23/05/2011 22:52

FFS I've just been onto FB. There are TWO - yes, TWO- photos of my backside. I spend vast amounts of time and employ great trickery to avoid appearing in photos and this is what happens.

Next time I'll just take it like a man woman and face the bloody camera.

EggyAllenPoe · 23/05/2011 22:55

i was thirsting for a Metz though, after you said it...

don't bars do alcopops anymore? i really wouldn't know. I was actually suprised no-one smoked indoors....

AnnieLobeseder · 23/05/2011 22:58

Not just photos of your lovely bum, Shodan, there's one of your giant arm crushing me as I play pool!

Shodan · 23/05/2011 23:06

Hah. One sweep of my deadly giant arm and you'd've been proper squashed. Just as well we were Two Of the Few (last women standing). Loyalty to the sisters.

Valpollicella · 23/05/2011 23:08

Shodan/Annie, have you ever seem 'Kids in the Hall' fromthe 90's

'I squiiiiish your head'

And that's what that pics reminds me of Grin

thefirstMrsDeVere · 23/05/2011 23:09

I LOVED Kids in the Hall! Me and OH used to watch it years ago. I am squiiisssshing our heeeed.

Such fun.

AnnieLobeseder · 23/05/2011 23:16

Nope, not seen Kids in the Hall.

So who was it who was in the pub downstairs? I can't find the thread. Link please?

Right, I still need to catch up on more sleep....

methodsandmaterials · 23/05/2011 23:19

What were the chances??
Grin

Shodan · 23/05/2011 23:30

Nope, me either, Annie.

I have to go read the linky thread now.

GetOrfMoiCase · 24/05/2011 09:35

I am very very glad that no photos of me exist.

DP made me laugh last night - he watched the film of the Witches with dd on the Sunday morning, he said that they both imagined that the mumsnet meetup was exactly like the Witches convention (i.e. an opportunity to scratch underneath our wigs, take our shoes off and relax, sit in awe of the high priestess, plan to turn all children into rodents etc)

Grin

I had such a lovely time. I just wish I had had more to drink (mind you, christ knows what part of London I would have ended up in if I had drunk tequila)

Al0uiseG · 24/05/2011 10:06

Dh does call me a witch actually, apparently it's an affectionate term of endearment Hmm but occasionally I have flashes of useless yet psychic brilliance which scares him beyond belief. He also thinks that I put a spell on him to keep him Hmm. I didn't but I let him think that his knob will fall off if he falls under the spell of another witch woman.

Getorf, what was The King William like? Any wannabe slebs?

PurveyorOfBaloney · 24/05/2011 10:30

Aww Eggy, that was a nice thing to say

You were very stunning too, that dress was just beautiful, and I'm very Envy of your fine cleavage. MrEdgar was a very good egg too, and extremely tolerant of the random drunk women. Thank you for sharing your pictures of Leo too. I think you are both amazing Smile

GetOrfMoiCase · 24/05/2011 10:37

King William was really good, absolutely FULL of people who looked like the extras from TOWIE, who sneered in my direction at the general thatched cottage state of my hair and sad air of hangover. No slebs though (however I did see Lily Allen on the way home about 6 miles from my house Shock)

Nice food though, very cheap I thought. £14 for a roast dinner and a pudding.

Can't believe you were sick alouise, you looked absolutely fine when we left. I think we were a bit shrieky but didn't think we were plastered (mind you thinking back at the shit I was rambling on about perhaps i was drunker than I thought)

Al0uiseG · 24/05/2011 11:15

"A bit shrieky" Squeeeeeeeeeeeee.
