Meet-ups

When meeting up take sensible precautions. Meet in a public place and let others know where you are going.

Another N West London attempt, but more Watford than NWLondon!

Hi girls

I live in Pinner and Janstar and Bobsmum are up for a meet-up and we're hoping to rope in Alibubbles cos she's not to far away either.
Juno, Dot, Kayleigh, LisaLisa and anyone else that can get to Watford(ish) without driving all day and night - do you want to try and meet in Watford-ish area? I'm going to do some re-search into a good place to go. I'm sure there's an activity centre with coffee tables round the sides for us. Will get back to you on that, meanwhile - who's up for having a quick cuddle of each others kids??!!

Sure Wills.

BUT, which one are we talking about?

Activity World , The Lincolnsfields Centre, Bushey Hall Drive, Bushey, Herts WD23 2ES
OR
Playdome, Watford - Kingsway, Garston (off the A405)

alison222 · 22/01/2004 14:12

I don't pick DS up until 12 from playgroup - and as the 30th is my morning to help I guess I can't skip it. I'd be coming from Ealing so doubt I'd be there before 1p.m.. What time were you all intending to stay until? If you will all still be there its worth the drive

Janstar · 23/01/2004 09:11

I can stay till 3.

Janstar · 23/01/2004 09:12

Karen, I thought we were talking about Playdome. I could do either, but I'd prefer Playdome.

alibubbles · 23/01/2004 11:20

I thought Playdome closed on the 1st january this year? I read it on another website.

bobsmum · 23/01/2004 12:59

Just had a google for the playdome and spookily a whole lot of mums on Babycentre are having a meet up there today, so it must still be open. Will keep checking.

Janstar · 23/01/2004 13:10

Perhaps it was just closed for the day on January 1st?

alibubbles · 23/01/2004 14:11

Definately closed, I phoned them today. There is a new activity centre opening on 1st April.

Karen99 · 25/01/2004 15:33

So the Activity World in Bushey it is then.

I can stay until about 2pm.

We can try the Playdome in April.

Janstar · 25/01/2004 16:48

Okay. I will probably arrive at about 12.15.

Karen99 · 27/01/2004 17:25

Just drove past Activity World on my way to Watford this afternoon. Hmmm. Not sure what to say about it really. All of the buildings look quite shabby and run down (I mean major paint peeling and mouldy wood). The actual Activity World entrance building was perhaps the best of the lot. Not sure if that sets a good example cos if the outside isn't looked after what are the guarantees the inside is?

What do you think?

Has anyone been to this one before?

bobsmum · 27/01/2004 21:29

Found this which seems to be current.

Kayleigh · 28/01/2004 13:05

If we are meeting inside how will we know each other presuming it is full of mothers will small children
(This is where a mumsnet badge would come in handy !!)

Kayleigh · 28/01/2004 13:07

obviously that should say "with" small children. I really should preview my posts !

Grommit · 28/01/2004 13:21

Karen99 - I have been here before - it is better inside than it looks!! There is a farm area outside - would recommend avoiding this!! The activity play area is fine.
Sorry I can't join you all - I have family staying and do not want to be rude and desert them!!(much as I would like to!)

Kayleigh · 29/01/2004 08:02

If it thaws before tomorrow i may still make it. But at the moment my car is outside the station and it took me an hour and a half to walk home last night. So until i can get to it I'm stuck at home. Have got ds1 home today too as they have just rung and said school is shut.

Grommit · 29/01/2004 08:23

Kayleigh - my car is stuck at local shops!! School is also closed...

alibubbles · 29/01/2004 10:00

Sorry, I won't be there as I have my network co ordinator coming to observe my children at play. Look forward to another date though.

Janstar · 29/01/2004 10:26

Given the circumstances it might be best just to forget it for tomorrow, don't you all think?

bobsmum · 29/01/2004 12:11

I think that might be for the best unfortunately - the council haven't bothered to grit all the roads around my neck of the woods and it's a bit scary to say the least. Definitely still up for another meet soon though

alison222 · 29/01/2004 16:54

I couln't make it either as dd is covered in unidentified red rash - not serious according to doctor but I wouln't want to infect everyone. maybe next time though.....

Karen99 · 30/01/2004 08:39

I agree too, have been battling a post-migraine headache for the last two days, plus car is completely frozen.

I cannot make Feb 6th, but can do any other Friday. Could prob make another day in the week, but Friday seemed best for most people.

BTW, thanks for the reassurance Grommit!

Janstar · 30/01/2004 09:01

Friday after 12 noon is the only day I can do during term time. However, just about any Friday afternoon is fine for me.

alison222 · 30/01/2004 19:13

Just not the 13th Feb asits DD's birthday. Otherwise I can do pretty much any Friday afternoon at the moment

Karen99 · 31/01/2004 10:44

Why don't we go for the 27th Feb? I know it's a long way off but it seemed to be a good bet earlier on in the thread.

Shall we go for the Activity Centre again then?
