Meet-ups

When meeting up take sensible precautions. Meet in a public place and let others know where you are going.

Another N West London attempt, but more Watford than NWLondon!

Hi girls

I live in Pinner and Janstar and Bobsmum are up for a meet-up and we're hoping to rope in Alibubbles cos she's not to far away either.
Juno, Dot, Kayleigh, LisaLisa and anyone else that can get to Watford(ish) without driving all day and night - do you want to try and meet in Watford-ish area? I'm going to do some re-search into a good place to go. I'm sure there's an activity centre with coffee tables round the sides for us. Will get back to you on that, meanwhile - who's up for having a quick cuddle of each others kids??!!

Tuesdays and Fridays are good for me, otherwise I am tied by nursery and school pick ups

Karen99 · 16/01/2004 13:13

Hi - sorry, haven't been able to post as much as I'd like these days and have only just seen this! I'm up for meeting. I can be flexible except for Wednesday's.

Will look up some child friendly venues with a bit more space than last time!

Grommit · 16/01/2004 13:52

Friday is a good day for me

Karen99 · 16/01/2004 17:37

Karen99 · 16/01/2004 17:37

PS. Haven't been to any of these!

Grommit · 16/01/2004 18:22

Activity world is quite good - space for mums to have coffee (although coffee terrible!) and for kids to run around or babies to watch.

Another idea is Cafe Rouge in St Albans - this is very child friendly

alison222 · 16/01/2004 19:25

Hi can I come too?
Slinks sorry I didn't see your last message in December My two and then me were ill too up until just before Christmas. Looks like we have missed the 6th January but lets try again.

Karen99 · 19/01/2004 09:15

Sorry - told a fib!! I have been to Quincy's but not the others. DOH!

It might be good to go to one of the play domes rather than a restaurant since there seems to be quite a few of us.

A short list -

Thomcat?

How about Friday Jan30th or Feb13th? (I can't make the 6th)

Activity World has a baby and toddler area. However, if over 10 children we need to book in advance. I guess we need to work out which area we'll be in most -
ACTIVITY WORLD for over 5's (£4.00) TODDLERS WORLD for under 5's (£3.00) BABY WORLD (£1.50)

My ds is 7mo.

It is here

alibubbles · 19/01/2004 10:10

I'm skiing again on the 13th Feb, but can do Jan. I like the idea of Cafe Rouge, haven't been there for years!

alison222 · 19/01/2004 11:35

I cant make the 13th DD's birhtday, but could od the 30th after 12 as its my morning to help in playgroup. My two are 3 and almost 1

bobsmum · 19/01/2004 13:46

Just noticed this was still a potential. Play place sounds great - might get my lazy boy moving around a bit more. He's 16 months but not walking alone yet. Does that put him in Babyworld rather than Toddlerworld - he's a v big 16 mth old - wouldn't want him to squash anyone!

Dh is working in Singapore for a week so I'll need cheering up in the last week of January. Friday afternoons are fine for me too.

My dad's coming down from Glasgow to stay with us on the 13th Feb, so I have to stay in and bribe him with cups of tea so he'll help do my decorating

Kayleigh · 19/01/2004 16:04

I'd love to come if it's a friday morning (can't do 13th though). I would just have ds2 with me and he's 2.5.

Karen99 · 20/01/2004 08:26

Why don't we do the Activity Centre on Jan 30 and Cafe Rouge on Feb 20/27? Maybe atleast half of us can make each venue?

For Jan 30th it looks like:
Kayleigh
Alison222
Alibubbles
bobsmum
grommit
karen99

When are the babes more lively - morning or afternoon? Maybe 11am or 2pm meetup?

Janstar · 20/01/2004 08:40

Hi Karen and everyone.

I can do Fridays after 12 noon. That's when I pick up ds from nursery. Playdome is 5 mins from my house, Cafe Rouge 10 mins.

I must admit the last couple of times I have been to Cafe Rouge the food has been underwhelming!

I'm also concerned that ds is being a real handful at the moment and I might struggle to control him at Cafe Rouge. I still can't move about very easily and he knows this so he runs off all the time!

But playdome sounds like a good idea. He can run about to his heart's content and I might be able to chat with other mums. Great!

You can count me in for play dome but I can't get there till just after 12 noon.

Kayleigh · 20/01/2004 14:14

Playdome sounds great. We might even get a chance to chat !
11 am meet up would be better for me as have to collect ds1 from school at 3:10 so wouldn't be able to make a 2pm meet-up.

Janstar · 20/01/2004 16:23

Could it be 12 noon rather than 11?

bobsmum · 20/01/2004 18:23

11 or 12 for me. Ds usually has lunch at about 12 ish and then flakes out. Although the excitement of a play area might keep him going.

If we make it 11am, then people could start dropping in from then and we could have lunch together after 12 once everyone's arrived?

Kayleigh · 20/01/2004 18:53

bobsmum, sounds like a plan

alibubbles · 20/01/2004 20:08

I probably wouldn't arrive until about 12 ish as I am at a Childminder group in the morning, which the children love as there is only 8 children with a ball pool and slide all to themselves!

Grommit · 21/01/2004 09:41

I can't make jan 30th but I can do Feb 27th

Karen99 · 21/01/2004 10:22

Ok! Jan 30 meeting at 11am and some to follow at 12pm. Not sure what the setup is like so maybe meet at the entrance. Just to confirm are we talking "The Activity Centre" or "Playdome" ?

Alibubbles and Janstar, as we've met, I'll keep a lookout for you from 12pm or can meet you back at the entrance.

Grommit, where would you like to meet on the 27th?

Grommit · 21/01/2004 10:49

Cafe Rouge St Albans?

Karen99 · 21/01/2004 13:48

Can you do a streetmap? Haven't been to St. Albans for years.

Is there enough room for toddlers and babies?

Janstar · 21/01/2004 16:31

The arrangements for Play Dome are fine with me. See you there

Wills · 21/01/2004 16:59

Sounds great - may I join in? I have a boistrous 3 year old that I will need to pickup from nursery so I'll have to be 12.00 - is that ok?
