Morning all!

here's the spreadsheet . If you haven't already seen it, check out the new info for veg/nuts/fruit that @AthelstaneTheUnready has added to it. Updated (and hopefully now the most accurate) data for all three categories, and all grouped into traffic light categories - green to eat freely (when allowed, in the case of nuts and fruit), amber to be more cautious about and red to avoid as much as possible.

If there's a particular ingredient that isn't on there, just let me know and I'll find the data for that and add it.

And now to week 4

A reminder that this week is also one where you're unlikely to see much loss - and possibly may see a gain. Just remember that THIS IS PERFECTLY NORMAL! Don't panic, but just KOKO and things should get moving again from next week.

Off to catch up with the end of last week's thread now. Hope everyone has an enjoyable bank holiday Monday Flowers

Meant to say @nowlook my two DC are 19 and 28. We’ve got through a fair bit of heartbreak over the years. It is just part of life and you just need to love and support them so they develop the resilience to deal with it. I’ve also learnt from my mistakes.... Avoid saying “well I never thought she was quite right for you” in case they get back together again two days later. Awkward. But I was right and he has now moved on. It’s lovely when they do find someone that makes them happy and loves them though.

nowlook · 09/05/2021 08:19

That's a lovely post @Jollyholibobs

FusionChefGeoff · 09/05/2021 08:25

@Jollyholibobs good like with your run!!! That's a half marathon which is very impressive.

@devoncreamtea sorry you feel pants make sure you're on a 4 hour paracetamol regime it really made a difference for me.

I'm going to try a run based on a crossroads distance so you split your target into 8, choose a central point then run out and back in 4 directions. It's great psychologically to turn longer distances into what seems like nothing!! It also means that you have regular opportunities to bug out if it's not feeling good Grin

I've stayed exactly the same this week to the 0.1 lb which is funny and unexpected as I'm due on any minute and massively indulged last night so I'm happy with that! So I'm hoping for a whoosh next week once the period weight is off....

FusionChefGeoff · 09/05/2021 08:29

Woops forgot food

B: still fuelled by spinach and cheese Grin
L: tuna Nicosia type salad
D: lamb leg steaks, celeriac & leek mash (or dauphinois / gratin can't decide), mmmm just realised I might need more veg options what would you do with that????

I've never done leg steaks do I just pan fry for a few minutes same as beef and deglaze / make a jus from the pan????

Rshard · 09/05/2021 08:31

😂 nowlook, am also a fan of George’s and the north of the county. Wonder how geographically close we actually are?

Good luck for your run jolliholibobs, super impressive!

I second the paracetamol regime devoncreamtea, my colleague did similar with his second after being really ill with the first. Hope you feel better soon

Bestbees · 09/05/2021 08:36

Good luck to those running properly today. I will probably run, but it will be a plodding 5k only.

L green soup, boiled eggs
D pork fillet, roast celeriac and cabbage.
MIM run and family swim.

Need to do some meal planning for the week so off to look at the freezer Smile

devoncreamtea · 09/05/2021 08:57

Thanks guys Smile

BIWI · 09/05/2021 08:59

@FusionChefGeoff yes, I'd pan fry the steaks - treat them like beef steaks and sear first, then cook quickly so they're still pink. I'd do roasted tenderstem broccoli with them, if you have any of that!

Well, from what you've said in the past, probably about 5 miles and no more than 10 Grin. Our catchment area school is John Port, but I'm on the boundary of it being QEGS.

Less outingly (ish), I grew up in Fritchley (next to Crich). You'd have no doubt suffered the Tramway Museum school trip if you were local as a child!

Angliski · 09/05/2021 09:26

@prettybird we got all our new sanitary ware from a reclamation yard in uckfield. Beautiful cast iron bath and vintage ceramics- whole thing cost £700! That’s my major tip! In our second home, we found the perfect designer bath then bought one of them off eBay for a tenth of the price.

cheeseisthebest · 09/05/2021 09:27

Good luck with runs today. I've spent a fortune with a podiatrist and got some insoles and he's given me the ok to start running again in a few weeks.

@nowlook I'm 137lb today so will have that as my weight for tomorrow I think!

Half a pound to go and I will have lost a stone.

cheeseisthebest · 09/05/2021 09:29

Probably need new running shoes though and that might have to wait until payday!

nowlook · 09/05/2021 09:35

Nice one @cheeseisthebest. We'll lock it in! I've STS this week (unless I lose overnight), but am not surprised. Too much wine. I think I need a couple of strict bootcamp weeks to get things moving again. I'll just KOKO though- weight loss is not linear and all that. Is it venus or Stunt with the amazing fluctuating graph which shows all the ups and downs?

In the style of VeryLittleOwl, I managed to get into my very thin jeans this morning (26 waist), but they would definitely scare the horses at this stage. Would have to wear them until the overhang Blush Grin. I never take pictures at the right time, but I think I'll make an exception. They are my power jeans. If they fit right, I'm exactly the size I prefer. I'd say that's a good stone away, poss a bit more.

Covid10lbs · 09/05/2021 10:17

I've been a bit MiA this week as I worked two 12hr shifts as a vaccinator. The location is remote so lunch is provided.
Day 1 was beef burrito, which was flavoured rice, wrapped in bread, served with potato. I chose the vegetarian option next day. It was pasta pesto! So I've had some bad days for sure, this week. But I've had some good ones, and today I'm down .4 of a lb. I'm happy with that. A loss is a loss. That's 6lbs since the start & I'm feeelin' good.

Best wishes to everyone not in the zone, a bad day, or even several of them, doesn't mean you've failed.

My great discovery this week is chicken thighs. They are soo good.

cheeseisthebest · 09/05/2021 10:27

26inch waist jeans wow!
Chicken thighs are incredible. Good find! I like to cook them with peppers, tomatoes, chorizo and serve with sour cream and some green veg.

nowlook · 09/05/2021 10:42

@Angliski Your bathroom is what I wanted! But I couldn't imagine trying to keep it clean with the DSs, both of whom appear to have inherited their father's, erm, aim Hmm

Perhaps the ensuite.

Rshard · 09/05/2021 11:13

Sounds about right nowlook and yes the tramway museum 🙄

Kudos to your covid10lbs, for being a vaccinator

venusandmars · 09/05/2021 11:31

We're very lucky to have the en-suite in the biggest bathroom in the house with enough space for a bath and a big shower. We've got the loveliest mosaic tiles as a panel along the wall above the bath, down the shower and a small row above the sink. Loo, bath, sink are all flush to the wall and floor so there are not pipes to gather dust and as little floor to mop as possible.

If I was doing anything different it would be to have the shower controls in a different place NOT diectly under the shower head - my arm always gets a blast of icy water when I turn the shower on before the warm water runs through.

Food today:
B - coffee with cream
L - roast chicken, spinach, broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower cheese, mushrooms
D - green veg soup (made with chicken stock)

Hopeislost · 09/05/2021 11:44

@Covid10lbs We love a chicken thigh traybake here - I just mix up the veg and seasoning based on what we fancy.

@FusionChefGeoff Glad you enjoyed your takeaway. I always order too much sag paneer so that I can have the leftover in an omelette the next day!

B- coffee
L - Sag paneer omelette
D - Roast chicken, celeriac roasties and FLGV

prettybird · 09/05/2021 11:46

Love that @venusandmars Smile

You've given me food for thought about the shower controls but thinking about it, I don't think we can avoid having them on the innermost wall, where the piping will have to go, so will be "through" the shower water. But maybe that just means we need to get a good thermostatically controlled one. Wink

prettybird · 09/05/2021 11:50

Love your bath @Angliski but I think we're going for a more modern look because space is so tight (because we want a bath and a separate shower).

We will be going along to the local (enormous) architectural salvage yard though to look for a replacement cast iron insert for our original marble fire surround. It's not going to be cheap though Sad
