This Bootcamp has gone crazy! I'm very hopeful that means that the results on the scales/with the tape measure etc will have been positive.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I love this week. For so many, it's a total vindication as well as complete reassurance that this WOE really works!

I hope, very much, that the scales are kind to you and look forward to hearing everyone's progress.

Morning, I’ve stayed the same, but I started at the beginning of Jan so it is more like week 3 for me, I stayed the same in week 3 and 4 last boot camp and then it got moving again so I am just going to KOKO.

Today
B Greek yogurt with teaspoon double cream
L last of the bung it soup
D beef casserole with flgv

I made creamy leeks last night, DH literally had the bowl scraping the last bit out 😀, I do love the WOE.

plumstone hope you have a good trip to London, I’m rather jealous as have not been into London for a year, despite living in a London Borough, please have a —fabulous cocktail— (strike through does not work on my iPad) glass of water , in a swish bar for me. I’ve not been further than 3 miles for a walk since December, so am going to have to live vicariously through others until my daughter (shielding) gets her jab. I’m even slightly envious of those going to Waitrose 😀.

What's up @cheeseisthebest?

OP posts:
Pandoraslastchance · 25/01/2021 09:33

I've gained 2lb.

BIWI · 25/01/2021 09:33

@dancemonkey21 - wow! Over half a stone gone - that's amazing Flowers. Come out of lurkdom to celebrate! Grin

Any particular reason that you're aware of @Pandoraslastchance? Can you identify anything that would have resulted in a gain?

Sorry to hear the Christmas pounds aren’t gone yet @GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal. That’s annoying. But you may be brewing a whoosh, or perhaps (if you’re a weekly weigher) you just got unlucky today. That’s always what I try and believe. It will happen. And it’ll be so good when it does.

@cheeseisthebest - I’m sorry you didn’t lose. As BIWI says, week 3/4 are notorious for it. But I empathise - I always feel disheartened the days after a bad weigh-in. I look forward to it so much and it feels crap not to get a good result when I’ve tried hard. The way I try to think about it is that the food is delicious, and good for me, and slow weight loss is a good thing because it means your body won’t start to slow your metabolism or release hormones to make you hungrier or instruct your cells to store fat. You’re still making progress, and moving away from your previous set point to a new lower one in what’s hopefully an enjoyable and sustainable way.

Pandoraslastchance · 25/01/2021 09:43

I've not drunk enough water in the last two or three days. Plus I think I'm due on.

BIWI · 25/01/2021 09:45

For those who haven't lost (or who may have gained) - I'm sorry. It's a bummer isn't it, when others seem to have done so well?

But remember - it's not a competition. You may find that when you celebrate your loss (because you will lose), that they haven't lost that week.

Weight loss isn't linear, and it's very often the case that you can go for a while without the scales showing any movement, but then suddenly you'll drop 3lbs.

It's also a reason why we suggest taking measurements, or using your clothes to help you track changes in your weight.

However - if you haven't lost/if you've gained, you also need to be very honest and ask yourself have you really been following the rules? This WOE is not the most forgiving, and it's very easy to go off track with just a small indiscretion.

If you have, then chalk it up to experience, and just get back on the wagon. Today is another day - never mind tomorrow! Smile

Yes, the menstrual cycle does cause havoc! But not drinking the water is an issue too.

How about your meals? What have your last few days looked like - list them out and let's see if there's anything we can help with.

BIWI I’ll read the rest of the thread in a minute, but why not cook with sesame oil in a stir fry? Is there some reason eg it doesn’t work well with heat?

Nice to have you back in bold, by the way.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 25/01/2021 09:47

Thanks to those who haven't lost.

Fwiw, I've had massive weight gain over the last three years, so I'm one of the more likely candidates for a big whoosh. You chaps who've been doing this for longer are admirable IMO.

Too strong a flavour - if you added a lot of it it would mess with the balance of the dish.
itsmeagainagain · 25/01/2021 09:50

Wow some amazing losses well done you guys! @ouchmyfeet and @ListenLinda 👏 and all the others with the great losses. I’ve STS but I’m ok with that and I know where I’ve not been strict enough so that’s fine must try harder but also have lots of stuff going on at the moment so I’m being kind to myself for once. I need to buy some more sparkling water as it’s the only way I drink enough so will pop to Lidl later and stock up. Have a good week y’al x

I’ll cook with regular sesame oil ( fairly flavourless), but toasted sesame oil (which is mega tasty) doesn’t cook well - it has a much lower smoking point, I assume because it’s already been “toasted” once!

No reason not to cook with it - it just might be a bit overwhelming from a flavour point of view if you then dress your food with it when cooked.

Not a petulant post, honest. Can someone explain why it's "one week on" and "two months plus off"? It's definitely a pattern I've observed.

Pandoraslastchance · 25/01/2021 10:14

I'll be honest I'm struggling to remember meals. I know ivd not eaten breakfast a few times. Ill try to write the meals down this week.

DulcetMoans · 25/01/2021 10:16

I've hoped on the scales and I am 4lb down so I'm pretty pleased with that. I think I've filled in the spreadsheet wrong though cos when it put it into the weight converter on Google it came back with a number that is different in stone. Very confusing! Need to investigate and update spreadsheet. Do you all use a certain weigh converter? Oh there was one in the spreadsheet wasn't there!

Anyway, hoovering over a stone marker now so hoping to pull away from that this week.

ChristMyArse · 25/01/2021 10:17

Morning all!

1.2 off this week for me which I will take given that I'm 3.5 weeks in.

Now off to measure myself...

I've fallen foul of this many times. The converted weight usually shows as stones and the % of pounds rather than stones and pounds if that makes sense. 1 week I actually thought I'd lost 7lb (not bootcamp) as the result was 11.7 from the kg conversion but of course it was showing the 0.7 as a percentage of the stone not 7 pounds. I convert from kgs to pounds, then do the pounds to stones and pounds. Christ does that even make sense? Grin

What's up *@cheeseisthebest*?
Just feel bit gutted that I've gained a pound! Oh well will carry on, smoked salmon and boiled eggs for breakfast!
cheeseisthebest · 25/01/2021 10:28

Thank you for wise words and encouragement everyone, I needed that!
Is anyone else finding its helping in general to focus on this? I am enjoying it and I know I'm doing it for my general health as well, must get my blood sugar down!

BIWI · 25/01/2021 10:29

How much do you weigh @cheeseisthebest? You haven't entered your weight on the spreadsheet (even though you're on there twice for some reason!). That might be coming into play if you haven't got a lot to lose.

Otherwise - remember what I've posted before - it's quite normal for weight to fluctuate daily, and a pound really isn't that much.

dancemonkey21 · 25/01/2021 10:29

Morning all - good results today (half a stone) but I think much of that was 'fake weight' from a pre Bootcamp binge. I have had huge success with low carb before and I know it's the absolute right diet for me and I cannot moderate bread at all and I need it to be a hard no!

With my 2 daughters (6&9) at home all day and us eating together I'm trying to not draw any attention to it and bring them into the world of 'diets' so am being very mindful about how I talk about what I'm doing.
