This is the full list of those who have signed up. Hopefully you're all on The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness (unless you said you didn't want to be!

Remember, weighing in tomorrow is not part of this week, although if you want to, you can put your weight in the 'original start date/weight' columns

Thanks must go, as always, to the very lovely @AthelstaneTheUnready for setting up the spreadsheet. You'll see this time that we've amended it slightly so that you can record loss for this Bootcamp as well as since you started, for those of you who started earlier.

If your name isn't on the spreadsheet, don't panic! Just add it to the bottom of the list. Don't try to insert it in the right alphabetical place - Athelstane will do that later.

If you are on the spreadsheet, but don't want to be, send me or Athelstane a PM and we'll remove you.

Whatever you do, don't touch the blue cells!

If you're using a mobile to access the spreadsheet, you'll need to download the Google Sheets app.

Evening.

I just went to put the chicken in the oven, and found it in the freezer. Sigh.

So dinner will be a chicken thigh traybake, with roast potatoes for the kids, and lots of veg for us. Also making cauli & broccoli cheese.

B: last day of yoghurt, nuts & seeds
L: keto-friendly fry-up with greens

I feel ready for tomorrow, but I'll definitely need support next Friday night, as I know I'll wobble. Onwards!

Dailyhandtowelwash · 17/01/2021 17:24

I have spent the weekend on a mad last carb fling eating way more than I normally would. My system is not thanking me! I’ve put on about 5lbs so am hoping that disappears pretty fast next week. I have put myself off most things now and am longing for low carb purity again.

gillyweed · 17/01/2021 17:50

@turnedouttoes. I'm sure you've already considered this, but could it be thrush? Is it anywhere else on your body? As that is exactly what it looked like on me last hot summer (large sweaty boobs, lovely 🙄). It was also unbelievably itchy and painful, I couldn't wear clothes!!! Thrush us also linked to sugar consumption isn't it?

prettybird · 17/01/2021 18:09

Gillyweed has reminded me of the time (TMI alert) that I got cold sores (herpes simplex) on my nipples Blush Very painful and itchy. I never did work out how's got - but I got it again years later ( before I was pregnant with ds Confused but it did mean I was concerned about a relapse around the time I went into labour).

Apparently it is highly unusual for someone to get who has never otherwise had cold sores that they were aware of and who didn't smoke Confused

With hindsight the sores looked very similar to the shingles vesicules. (I know it wasn't shingles as it was on both nipples Blush).

TMI alert over WinkBlush

PastramiNoRye · 17/01/2021 18:40

Good day today:

Brunch: chorizo, mushroom and parmesan omelette with creamy coffee

Dinner: roast beef with buttered cabbage and broccoli

Back to homeschooling/work tomorrow so need to be disciplined! Especially to get ALL THE WATER drunk!

PastramiNoRye · 17/01/2021 18:41

Oh a solitary leftover meatball as a snack!

ZiggZagg · 17/01/2021 19:07

Evening all!

Lunch was a quick snack of ff yoghurt with almond butter (before I give it up again for 2 weeks)
Dinner is steak, creamy garlic mushrooms and roasted cauliflower and broccoli 🤤

Excited to weigh in tomorrow and start bootcamp proper Grin

Definitelymaybeee · 17/01/2021 19:08

I saw that someone recommended recording meals, so here goes.

B: soya Greek yoghurt (hope this is ok) with peanut butter
L: cheese qnd olive tortilla with leftover cauliflower cheese
D: halloumi and roasted veg

Mmm, is ok to eat so much cheese?! I wouldnt normally! I'd never heard that too much dairy could prevent weight loss but as a veggie who normally eats lot of pulses and beans, I need to find some non-dairy alternatives... Apart from that, pretty happy that I stuck to 3 meals.

oscarandelliesdad · 17/01/2021 19:09

Evening guys, excited and tepidatious in equal measures about tomorrow's weigh in. Ushering in the new WOE with a last gin. Grin

PastramiNoRye · 17/01/2021 19:41

@oscarandelliesdad me too!! Cheers!

LostaraYil · 17/01/2021 19:43

Looking forward to the weigh in tomorrow. I started on 4th, but have not been super strict yet, still feel a lot slimmer already. Today's meals:
L: fat head pizza
S: creamy coffee and peanut butter
D: roast veg and chicken, plus way too much cranberry cheese and 2 pieces of dark chocolate that needed finishing off before tomorrow!
I'm hoping that strict low carb for the next 2 weeks will mean that I still lose something even though it's week 3-4 for me.
I've been having orthostatic hypotension in the mornings but drinking an oxo cube drink seems to sort it out.

1WayOrAnother2 · 17/01/2021 19:44

Struggling a little after 2 weeks back on this WOE -suddenly, cooking has become a problem:

Our kitchen emergency (death of old oven) a few weeks back led to need to change size and configuration of oven space... and this led to discovery of seriously mouldy walls/application of insulating paint ... and this led to needing to replace old (mouldy + decaying) cupboards of a size no-longer standard... and this led to essential re orgainising of all of these ... and removal of a wall...

It is a room full of potential and this was a long-term plan but I have before me a vision of hell right now.
I think that this might be crisis point.

Everything that was in the kitchen is now all over the house.

There are part-constructed cupboards in every room. Electrics are being moved and walls plastered. You just can't imagine the mess. Plaster-dust is amazing stuff. It sticks to walls (and absolutely everything else) even if not mixed with water.

This is all being done on a part-time basis as we all work from home . DH is DIY skilled (though not an enthusiast).

I've lost the point here.

Anyway, what I meant to say is that food preparation -of any kind- is challenging!

BrassicaBabe · 17/01/2021 19:56

18km run done! No carb loading here 👍 I was worried because the 16k (fat adapted) was sooo much harder than the Xmas 17km where I'd been main lining mince pies.

Today's run was harder than the 17 but easier than the 16. GrinAs someone mentioned, it's mostly just in my head!! It took me 2 hours 11 mins. That's a long time to argue with yourself Grin

Thank you @StuntNun and @Jollyholibobs for your advice. (I've got that book but never managed to read it. My attention span for text books is very poor!). Thank you @BIWI for your kind words. They meant so much to me.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 17/01/2021 20:03

@Definitelymaybeee, Stunt's the expert here, but it's something to do with dairy also increasing insulin levels. Not as much as straight up carbs, but noticeably enough that for some people 'too much' stalls weight loss. (I, sadly, am one of them).

'Too much' is personal so sadly unquantifiable; I find any more than about a matchbox size per day is too much. (Please don't cry). But your limit may be much higher, or even not limited at all! See how you get on, and if you are struggling to lose, you can try cutting it out then for a week and seeing what happens.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 17/01/2021 20:07

Oh man... @1WayOrAnother2, that sounds... dire. [flower]

@BrassicaBabe, HUGE congratulations on the 2hr11min argument - dead impressed with your running and argumentative powers! Grin

Iamnotacerealkiller · 17/01/2021 20:10

Thanks BIWI i hadn't considered stress. I has been a hard week emotionally for a number of reasons apart from the surgery, Family drama mostly so that's a thought.

Regardless im very happy eating this way just looking forward to the lovely sense of wellbeing and disinterest in food i got about 4 weeks in last time.

NotwatchingSpooks · 17/01/2021 20:15

1WayOrAnother2 Flowers that sounds really difficult. When we did our kitchen I had a side table that we used as a kitchen prep area, with some plastic storage boxes. The tips I have see on here are to use paper plates etc as that is easier, washing up in the bath is no fun . In terms of cooking I have an Instantpot and love it as you can bung stuff in and just push a button.

cheeseisthebest · 17/01/2021 20:23

So for the next 2 weeks, starting tomorrow I can't eat -

Potatoes, sweet potatoes, sweet corn/corn on the cob
Pasta (brown or white) and noodles
Rice (brown or white)
Bread (wholemeal, brown or white)
Pizza
Flour (and anything made with/thickened with flour, and cornflour)
Biscuits/cakes/pastry
Sugar (in any form, which includes fruit sugar, honey, agave syrup, maple syrup)
Balsamic vinegar
Sweets
Fruit juice
Full sugar drinks/fizzy drinks and squash/cordial
fruit
nuts/seeds
chocolate
alcohol
artificial sweeteners

Is there anything else I need to be aware of or am missing?
Lots of water?

AthelstaneTheUnready · 17/01/2021 20:23

(Sending just the one flower, obvs, as you don't want to be dusting more than one every day).

cheeseisthebest · 17/01/2021 20:27

Athlestane could you please add me to the spreadsheet. I couldnt do it for some reason.

Thank you so much. Smile

Meatloaf and buttered green veg for dinner. Meatloaf recipe from diet Doctor so hopefully it's OK.
