Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for its weekly outing.

Don't forget to check out all the different resources on the spreadsheet - it's a huge mine of information.

We are now past the half way point - so only 5 more weeks to go until we get to Christmas! Shock

But that means there's still time to lose a good chunk of weight, if we all knuckle down and get on with it.

Flowers to us all!

Wow @VeryLittleOwl. The difference is amazing. I am 2lbs less than I was yesterday. Now to try to keep that 2lbs off all week.

itsmeagainagain · 17/11/2020 08:02

@VeryLittleOwl absolutely brilliant progress!!! Your comment reminds me of a lyric I heard the other day about having to jump to put jeans on 😂

Mimosa1 · 17/11/2020 08:52

Morning everyone one. DH made some low carb chocolate cookies yesterday and I went a bit mad and had 3, and had a horrible metallic taste in my mouth after. More proof that I'm an abstained not a moderator, sadly.

To the PP who has stayed the same for 3 weeks, in the same BUT my body fat has gone down 4% (!!!) and I'm able to do up some smaller trousers so something is happening! Now come in scales! I've just booked a winter sun holiday, in the basis that the tickets can be changed for free. It's 50-50 we will be able to go but I'm picturing myself in a bikini in a months time!

Redsparklybucket · 17/11/2020 08:53

298 today so another 1lb down - making 17lbs so far for this bootcamp, it is also TOTM for me this week so am very pleased. Could some one please add me to the spreadsheet as I am having trouble updating it. Also, a massive thanks for the cheese sauce recipe - am loving Cauliflower cheese - so rich and lovely!

StuntNun · 17/11/2020 08:59

On a previous Bootcamp we had one person who went down two dresses sizes while not losing a single pound. So while it's frustrating when the scales don't budge it doesn't mean nothing is happening. That's why we recommend measuring or having a goal piece of clothing to see how your shape is changing.

Lyrata · 17/11/2020 10:04

Amazing @VeryLittleOwl! That must feel great.

I am loving this simple cauliflower soup this week - with homemade chicken stock www.saltandlavender.com/creamy-cauliflower-soup/

Totalshambles · 17/11/2020 10:19

Well I tried the old clothes and just made it into my favourite pair of black skinny jeans but there is a muffin overhang and a camel toe so it’s not the best look! Another 5lbs I reckon would do it! Taking them off now...!

itsmeagainagain · 17/11/2020 10:20

@Lyrata love that recipe 😍 going to make that this week

NigellaAwesome · 17/11/2020 10:58

Well done on the shorts VeryLittleOwl!

BIWI · 17/11/2020 11:17

Another one here with a shape change in 5 weeks, yet only 4 pounds off so far...

The shorts were very tight and there is a significant muffin top, but it's definite progress.

Food today...

B - boiled egg mashed with butter
L - tuna mayonnaise and salad
D - chicken and vegetable fajitas (without fajitas) topped with avocado salsa, sour cream, cheese

Plus lots of water. I have a glass of water on my desk and another by the sink. Every time I go to the kitchen, waiting for the kettle to boil, or preparing food, I have another glass of water. Every time I pick up the phone, or end a call, I have a drink of water. It all adds up.

itsmeagainagain · 17/11/2020 11:55

@20bloodypounds that’s brilliant!! Well done 👏

GorgeousGoldies · 17/11/2020 12:22

VeryLittleOwl and 20bloodypounds your photos are fantastic, so inspiring. Well done and thank you for being brave enough to post them!

I’ve been for a lovely woodland run with a friend (40 minutes running, 60 minutes chatting afterwards 😂). Just about to have cauliflower cheese soup, seemingly by coincidence with everyone else on the thread.

EarlGreyHot · 17/11/2020 12:23

20bloodypounds and VeryLittleOwl loving the progress pics!

VeryLittleOwl · 17/11/2020 12:26

20bloodypounds - I have zip envy! Amazing!

MrsKoala · 17/11/2020 14:00

Gah. I posted on the other thread and was thinking it was very quiet for BC. Just about to catch up.

ShagMeRiggins · 17/11/2020 15:49

Wonderful photos of progress, amazing how some visual progress has been achieved with very little scale movement vs that which has been achieved with significant scale movement.

StuntNun’s example of the bootcamper who lost two dress sizes without losing a pound is something we should all remember.

Also, I recall losing at least two stone before I dropped even one dress size!

It’s different for everyone—yet another reason to set up all your markers to track progress. Weight, body measurements, target clothing item, put anything with numbers into several formats (pounds/kilos/stones or inches/centimetres).

With clothing obviously stick with the same item because we all know it’s not the truth if you used to be an 18 with Brand X jeans but are now a 14 with Brand Y (vanity sizing).

Set out health goals and numbers as well—blood pressure, cholesterol counts, etc.

Also keep on the lookout for the unexpected—improved skin, IBS symptoms relieved or eliminated, better sleep, better energy, improved mood, etc... These might not happen for everyone—some might be affected adversely—but they’re often by-products of this WoE.

I’m just feeling really proud of everyone and after a rather rollercoaster month and a couple of shit days, this thread lifts me.

Ifeelmuchlessfat · 17/11/2020 17:18

Really good to see more inspirational photos, isn’t it great when it it starts to make an impact!

Can I ask if it’s possible to eat too little? I’ve been having the same sort of quantity for around a month now and I’m just not needing anything else. Would you mind telling me what you think please?

B: 2 mugs green tea
S: creamy coffee after 12
L (around 2.00pm) 2 egg omelette with loads of butter, Parmesan, mozzarella, cheddar, and lots of leeks and broccoli

Maybe another coffee, or tea with milk
Herbal tea
Water!

That’s it.

Very occasionally I’ll have a couple of spoonfuls of Greek yoghurt with a couple of Brazil nuts and a few seeds.

It doesn’t seem much but I’d be eating when not hungry if I had more. Maybe the amount of butter I use gives me the necessary calories Grin

Ifeelmuchlessfat · 17/11/2020 17:32

Oh and I’m pretty active. Most days are 15k steps up and down hills.

ShagMeRiggins · 17/11/2020 17:56

ifeelmuchlessfat it sounds as though you’re doing one meal a day, which is fine, but I think StuntNun has recently posted about the potential downsides of this.

If your goal is weight loss, then it’s possible that more food—perhaps a light snack—would help move the scales.

If you’re happy with your progress, that’s fine, but what you’ve laid out doesn’t look like it has enough variation of vegetables and no meat (you might be veggie, I can’t remember).

Two eggs, butter, cheese, and veg doesn’t seem quite “enough,” but, again, if you’re feeling well that’s fine.

I’m hoping this isn’t one disordered eating pattern being exchanged for another. Not accusing, just asking.

20bloodypounds · 17/11/2020 18:09

@VeryLittleOwl It followed a very significant visit to the bathroom Blush

20bloodypounds · 17/11/2020 18:24

Ifeelmuchlessfat That doesn't look like very much at all - possibly only about 500 calories, which doesn't seem sustainable. And not enough variety of low carb veg.

There's a lot of dairy (as a proportion of the overall food) and some people find this stalls their weight. You could cut out the cream in your coffee and have an avocado. You could reduce the butter in your omlette and have a small portion of vegetable soup.

For me, this woe has to be for the long term, which means it also has to hit the other 'good health' markers of 4-5 portions of veg per day, and eating a rainbow every week. I've attached a picture which shows some of the huge range of things that would be good on bootcamp, including veg which are orange, yellow, purple, red: aubergine, black olives, squash, radish, a small amount of tomato.

ShagMeRiggins · 17/11/2020 18:31

ifeelmuchlessfat I want to be clear I’m not accusing you of disordered eating, past or present. Forgive me.

I’m not sure I fully understand disordered eating, and a conversation today with a friend—checking in to make sure I’m eating well because there was a time a while back I simply wasn’t eating due to complete lack of appetite (emotional shit)—prompted me to bring it up as a possibility for you.

But I absolutely do not know your reasons for eating this way, and would like to stress you’re not being j’accused! by me.

ShagMeRiggins · 17/11/2020 18:32

20bloodypounds, I like your colourful chart. A lot.
