Thanks @8Track and @devoncreamtea! Good to be here Smile
I think having any sort of plan around eating will definitely help. The menu suggestions are useful too when I get into a rut of sticking to the same thing and then getting bored of them. I'm a terrible self sabotager too, so trying to catch it before it escalates.

One thing I've started doing is, for example, having lunch at 1130 if I'm hungry, rather than sticking to traditional meal times, as I only end up eating rubbish while I'm waiting for 'real lunchtime'!

I'm very grateful for the advice and support - which has been ongoing for years I think? - and sorry that it's been taken (in what seems to me) to be the wrong spirit it was given in.

PseudoBadger · 16/07/2020 11:40

I'm still here KOKO - sorry for missing a couple of weigh ins.

Takingontheworld · 16/07/2020 13:57

Jeez. Biwi I can't believe the amount of people you manage to inadvertently offend just by being so helpful! Incredible.

Won't tell you what happened last night, but there was a spiral!
Spent the night in agony again which just has cemented for me how well I feel digestively on the WOE.

I think i took the fasting too far. I've been 16:8 and then basically eating veg, and one meal a day alongside some small cheese based snacks.

Even though I'm genuinely not hungry, I'm going to keep 16:8 but go back to two meals and really focus on my water intake which definitely slips easily.

Think i might also give my scales to a friend for a week or two while I get myself into the flow again.

Got some long days filming next week so need to plan ahead.

BrassicaBabe · 16/07/2020 16:11

Sorry MrsK. I missed you being at maintenance. Nice one! How's it going?

Boiled eggs and mustard mayo for me for lunch. A bit meh. But then I'm lazy and working. So it was that or a pepperami.

Salmon and veg for dinner tonight. Again a bit dull but makes up for the heap of chicken and lamb I've eaten the last 2 nights.

MrsKoala · 16/07/2020 16:24

Well my goal for this bc was 8lb to take me to 12st. But I’ve lost 12lb and am very happy at 11st 10 (which I know sounds mad heavy, but really it’s my happy weight). I wore size 12 trousers yesterday and the waist was too big but the arse and legs were fine and my top was a loose 14 which I can’t reduce anymore because of my large shoulders and rib cage. In my mind I’d like to lose 2 more lb but that’s only because it will be an even stone and my organised mind finds comfort in that. Grin

I’m going to stick to bc lite and add a couple of carbier things in every few days to see how my body adjusts. Then when the kids are back at school and I can exercise I’ll go to 100g ‘good’ carbs a day (From sweet pot, oats and beans mainly).

1WildTeaParty · 16/07/2020 17:45

Mrs K - that sounds like a great plan for maintaining. (Well done on your loss too.)

1WildTeaParty · 16/07/2020 17:56

I haven't weighed in this week as was away for the funeral... and although I've followed our rules whenever possible, eating properly has been more difficult in the strange new world outside my kitchen.

Here's hoping that any damage will be small - or perhaps not even visible by next week.

Home now and normal eating has been resumed without difficulty.

NumbsMet · 16/07/2020 18:50

Forgive me if this has already been discussed over the past few weeks, I've not even been a good lurker. But is anybody on BC or any low carb WOE familiar with Konjac noodles?! I only learned about them yesterday, and ran out to buy a couple of packs today (brave, in case I hate them). But it just seems too good to be true Blush is there a reason I should step away from the pack? I'm not bothered by the low calories thing. But it's NO CARB PASTA!! I need a lie down.

Congratulations @MrsKoala Thanks

devoncreamtea · 16/07/2020 18:56

They’re fine numbsmet!! But apparently need a good old rinse before cooking because they are a bit stinky. Never used them my self but I remember that BIWI has, so they must be ok!!

devoncreamtea · 16/07/2020 18:57

Congrats MrsK 😊

BrassicaBabe · 16/07/2020 19:07

I think too good to be true Numbs is because they are gross EnvyGrin

Rshard · 16/07/2020 19:17

Congratulations mrsk 🥳

Takingontheworld · 16/07/2020 19:32

I've seen them before but DH said they looked like tape worms so I've never managed to bring myself to try 😂

8Track · 16/07/2020 19:45

@NumbsMet I've used them before, a different brand. I think they're great - a quick rinse and leave to drain in a colander; I didnt notice any funny smell. Have had them cold with cucumber noodles in a rice vinegar/soy sauce dressing with pickled ginger, and in thai noodle soups.

Have had SUCH a long day. Am leaving my workplace in a fortnight tomorrow (eeep!!) but keep being given More. Things. To. Do.

Knackered.

Boiling a celeriac for mash, and defrosting a beef stew for easiness.

Planning crispy chicken thighs on the barbeque tomorrow as it's going to be lovely! Must. Keep. Going.

8Track · 16/07/2020 19:49

Also @MrsKoala Star Wowzers, amazing stuff!!

NumbsMet · 16/07/2020 19:51

@Takingontheworld I've fixed the picture for you Grin. I haven't opened them yet, had no idea about the smell, but Mr. Numbs has anosmia so if I can't hack them I'll terf them over to him 😂 thanks for the reviews everybody! I'll report back later 👍🏻

Hopeislost · 16/07/2020 19:55

Well done @MrsKoala ! And don't call yourself 'mad heavy', you know your body better than anyone! My happy weight is 13-14 stone!

AWryGiraffe · 16/07/2020 20:08

I've used them before - always rinsed them because they stink!! They are ok, not exactly delicious, quite rubbery, but ok if you have something substantial with them like a spag Bol and lots of cheese!

The edamame fettuccine from Holland and Barrett is much nicer but not zero carb.

MrsKoala · 16/07/2020 20:20

I use them in oriental stuff, usually coconut based spicy soups. I’ve never used them as a pasta substitute I think they are too fine for that. Lidl sometimes have ones in their lighthouse bay brand which I much prefer. Much more like a thicker egg noodle.

Thanks for all the congrats. I don’t really deserve it as I didn’t have much to lose and didn’t find it hard at all. In fact I’ve really enjoyed this boot camp. I usually do it in the winter and I think I rely too heavily on swede mash, stews and dairy. Summer has meant more meat and salads, which seems to have worked better for me. And no exercise at all, which seems totally counter intuitive.

BrassicaBabe · 16/07/2020 20:23

You've lost 12lb MrsK. That's bloody great!

😂😂😂 good luck!

BrassicaBabe · 16/07/2020 21:25

I'm making a conscious deviation.

I've had 2 boiled eggs and mustard mayo for lunch. Left over lamb and buttered cauli for dinner. I'm a sniff off goal. I'm going to have a packet of crisp!! Worked it out - 19g if carbs for the pack. I don't think that's too bad based on my day?

BrassicaBabe · 16/07/2020 21:32

Actually, scap that. They were "artisanal" Hmm and not perfect. So not worth the waste. Had half the packet then put them away for DH.
