Isn't 10 weeks a long time!

The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here one last time

Although this is the last official weigh-in, this thread will stay up for general chat/support until the next Bootcamp - probably in October.

I hope everyone has a good 'final' result.

Every Bootcamp is different, but this one has, I have to say, been remarkably well behaved Grin. I've lost the Big Stick somewhere in the back of a cupboard!

While I know you're all here and reading because I know people don't read all the posts if you want to take the opportunity to meet @ShagMeRiggins (and me) for a lighthearted Bootcamp style & beauty event probably with gin thrown in for good measure send me a PM!

Okay that’s really helpful, I’m glad you said that. Me too with the predisposition to depression, and yes I hear ya re older women GPs

So I will start thinking about how to actively manage anything that comes up (and not just stick my head in the sand)

Rayna37 · 08/10/2019 22:13

Well I'd not even heard of a share token so thanks for that Riggins!

ShagMeRiggins · 09/10/2019 14:09

Rayna, did it work? I’m asking non subscribers to The Times.

absopugginglutely · 09/10/2019 16:16

Hi all, I’m coming to the near end of my first two weeks. I feel lighter but the scales haven’t Moved much Bar a few lbs Sad I’ve stuck to it to the letter.

I am going to plod in because I feel slimmer (I know that sounds odd!)

I am getting confused about things like chicken stock and coleslaw. People are say they’re low carb but stock has sugar in it but very low carb and coleslaw has 9.0 grams per portion.

Are we meant to be keeping to under 5g of carbs per serving?

Thanks.

BIWI · 09/10/2019 18:18

Chicken stock is fine - unless you're drinking/cooking with gallons and gallons of it.

Coleslaw is something generally to be avoided as it can get very carby very quickly - unless you're making your own and then you can control the carbs. (There's a recipe for it in the vegetarian Bootcamp recipe thread by the way)

In general, if you're buying processed foods, yes you should aim to keep the carbs no higher than 5g per 100 - and less if possible. Obviously you need to consider the quantities you're using as well though. For example, Colman's English Mustard has 13g carbs per 100g - but if you can eat that much English mustard you're a better woman than me!

You say the scales haven't moved much, but did you take your measurements?

Thank you BIWI.
No I haven’t taken measurements but will start from Saturday when my first 2 weeks is done.
What changes when you start week three diet wise? Is it just that you can have alcohol, Amber veg etc?

absopugginglutely · 09/10/2019 18:40

Also I keep seeing people refer to a whoosh! Is this common in LCHF that you can hold on to weight then suddenly lose lots?

Rayna37 · 09/10/2019 19:55

absopugging the main additions after the first two weeks are nuts/seeds, lower carb fruit, and alcohol but ALL IN MODERATION! If you go on to the October bootcamp getting ready thread which BIWI has started there's a recap of the all the rules, which are also in the spreadsheet.
You might want to stay in full bootcamp for another two weeks alongside everyone else to give yourself a great start.

absopugginglutely · 09/10/2019 21:24

@Rayna37 thanks I’ll do that :-)

ShagMeRiggins · 10/10/2019 18:54

I have not yet had today my...

WATER! WATER! WATER!

I know it’s not ideal to back-end it, but I’ll try to catch up anyway.

Raise and drink a pint to me in solidarity, fellow Bootcampers?

(What’s the female equivalent of fellow? Lady Bootcampers sounds daft, as does Female Bootcampers, as does... here it is... Lovely Bootcampers. Aaah. I can rest now.)

I am more 'soggy bootcamper ' todayGrinShagMeRiggins.

Have you seen all the water out there? I think that getting in three litres (through the skin) will be easy.

A Wellington bootcamp day it is!

8Track · 11/10/2019 09:00

Love the idea of Wellington bootcamp Wild !! I've got a lovely newish yellow 'mac', which I've decided is tailored enough to wear to work - so I'm like an overgrown kid prancing around!

absopugginglutely · 12/10/2019 20:28

I found some lovely low carb things in Waitrose today. Firm smoked tofu which is delicious and very low carb, a bag of Little portions (60g) president Brie to make sure you don’t have too much, Fraser dressing which is 1.5 per 100ml and was delicious with steak!
