Summer Low Carb Bootcamp - at last the finishing line!

Isn't 10 weeks a long time!

The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here one last time

Although this is the last official weigh-in, this thread will stay up for general chat/support until the next Bootcamp - probably in October.

I hope everyone has a good 'final' result.

Every Bootcamp is different, but this one has, I have to say, been remarkably well behaved Grin. I've lost the Big Stick somewhere in the back of a cupboard!

While I know you're all here and reading because I know people don't read all the posts if you want to take the opportunity to meet @ShagMeRiggins (and me) for a lighthearted Bootcamp style & beauty event probably with gin thrown in for good measure send me a PM!

Summer Low Carb Bootcamp - at last the finishing line!
absopugginglutely · 30/09/2019 07:49

@YesQueen looks delicious! I made it too yesterday with sour cream and cheddar.

I'm always slightly blown away in the early days of this WOE that it really works even though I'm so full up!

Almahart · 30/09/2019 08:25

Down another pound but it’s slow going now. Am going hard core. BPC for breakfast, broccoli cheese and roast chef or lunch (leftovers), spinach and fish pie for dinner.

I think I’m going to log everything on here, I have been having the odd carby thing and need to stop.

NigellaAwesome · 30/09/2019 10:28

Just checking in to say hello. Nothing of note to report.

I have a stressful day ahead of me dealing with a work litigation issue, so just making a coffee with cream and MNing before I make a start. Looking forward to the start of next bootcamp.

Almahart · 30/09/2019 11:28

Sorry, that should read roast chicken not for lunch, not roast chef.

I’ve actually already eaten it cos I was too hungry to concentrate

absopugginglutely · 30/09/2019 14:20

So far today I’ve had Greek yog (full fat with cream and cinnamon) for breakfast.

2x coffee with double cream.

Lunch: 1x boiled egg, large green salad with leaves, cucumber, radish and avocado with saint agur cheese.

2 pints of water with a squeezed lemon in.

Feeling nice and full.

I think dinner tonight will be an omelette with loads of greens and a small smoked fish piece.

Loads more water too.

Rshard · 30/09/2019 15:06

Slinking back in, I have been bad but various stresses are now dealt with and the line drawn.

Flowers to all those that need them and Smile to the newbies. I want to get my arse in gear ahead of the new bootcamp.

B - yoghurt, berries
L - Greek salad, chicken, mayo
D - tbc
W - 1.5 litres so far and the fourth half litre in progress.

Have enjoyed being in control today so much more than the feeling of my clothes getting tighter!

1Wildheartsease · 30/09/2019 18:42

Coming back from Greek wedding/holiday with relations tomorrow and hoping for the best.

Felt wonderful enough to swim in the sea (in a swimsuit! First time for years. ) and found the local food easy to fit to HFLC eating. (They have added chips and ice cream to the Mediterranean diet round hereConfused but it is easy to fill up on fish /cheese and Greek salad.

I tasted other people's desserts/sweets in thefirst week , but didn't want them.

Greek yogurt (12%) with frozen raspberries is better than ice cream by far. (Yes - my taste buds have recalibrated)Smile

Looking forwards to rejoining you all. This works ... even for the frequent-failer (me)

Water water water...

absopugginglutely · 01/10/2019 08:11

Sounds amazing swimming in the sea! I spent the summer sweating and eating and hiding my body in the sweltering heat and now it’s gone I’m determined to have a slim summer next year (one day at a time!)
I’ve had a creamy coffee and am just about to have a buttery omelette.
Lunch will be: salad with some form of protein maybe cheese and beef.
Dinner: tuna steaks with loads of green veggies in butter.

I had loads of water yesterday and feel so much better for it (not bloated in the morning as I usually am) so Loads of water in the plan too.

Smile Have a good day all.

Can’t wait for proper boot camp to start!

Haven’t weighed myself since starting on Saturday because I don’t want to fixate on weight more the lovely feeling of clothes not being too tight! (Also terrifies to see how heavy I’ve become since doing whatever I want with eating all summer)

1Wildheartsease · 01/10/2019 10:25

Abso- this is so worth the effort.

I did think that hot weather and sea were no longer for me but even with a certain life-belt of blubber round the middle, I felt free and fit. The difference a year has made!

absopugginglutely · 01/10/2019 11:28

What I love about it is you automatically are avoiding anything that’s not real food. Because there’s no ifs or buts about crisps, cake, chocolate it makes your brain clearer.
I also still enjoy planning what I’m going to ha e next because it must involve rich and satisfying foods.

Rshard · 01/10/2019 12:29

That sounds wonderful 1wild, I am obsessed with Greek salad at the moment. I never liked olives but now I can cope with black ones!

Sounds like you’re in a really positive mindset abso.

I’m at a meeting tomorrow morning which has lunch (and networking) afterwards. Will inevitably be sandwiches so planning on swerving the whole thing.

Mimosa1 · 01/10/2019 12:33

Oooh swimming off the Greek coast sounds glorious @1Wildheartsease how fab

I've been gaining and losing the same 500g for a week which is annoying but must focus on the positives. I'm eating less processed food and generally feeling better.

Now if only the scale would follow...

BrassicaBabe · 01/10/2019 15:33

Sneaking back in!

I hadn't fallen off he wagon as such but my recent wagon version seems only a distant cousin of the original BC one!

My wine consumption has risen to nearly a bottle every evening. No water. No FLGV. Living off of pepperami and pork scratchings. Interspersed with egg fasts to try to recover from the bad behaviour SadSad

So today I've given myself a good talking to. I'm starting BC. The whole kit and kaboodle. 3 meals a day. (Fat adapted as a long term BCer or not!). No wine. Lots of water. Some real actual food prep and FLGV!! Crazy behaviour has to stop!

So today:
B: yoghurt and a slosh of cream
L: tuna mayo, some coleslaw, gherkins (both items under 6g per 100) and a baby bell
D: going to make fish fingers with cod and almond flour and courgetti

Cauliflowerpower · 01/10/2019 15:44

Errrgh have had a bit of a naughty weekend. but back in the room now.

B - Greek yog with cream and a few frozen berries. I absolutely HATED this... It was like eating a bowl of cream. Don't get me wrong I LIKE cream but I couldn't eat it on its own. Going to try the yogurt solo tomorrow.
L - Big salad with and smoked sausage
D - Roast Pork with roasted broccoli, sprouts and probably cauli cheese!

However Chest infection seems to have fecked off so thats good! Just 2 more weeks of Steroids and I should be slightly less falling apart!

KOKO and drink that WATER!

Almahart · 01/10/2019 17:40

I’m koko but finding I’m really hungry and I don’t know why.

Today bf was hard boiled egg, cucumber, smoked salmon and mayo
Lunch was fish and spinach baked in cream and cheese
Snack of a big bowl of Greek yoga and some blackberries

Why am I so hungry?

absopugginglutely · 02/10/2019 06:43

@Almahart could it be that you need more butter? I find buttery things really filling so maybe have some butter on your veg or in a cheese sauce?

1Wildheartsease · 02/10/2019 06:58

Still hungry:
Drink more water (hunger can be thirst)
Remember how important it is to eat FLGV
Fat is essential -eat more. This is no low fat diet.

Eat bigger portions

Check that you haven't eaten carbs inadvertently. They leave me feeling hungry for two days afterwards. ( This has helped prevent me 'cheating' as I would have to accept that much hunger along with any sweet treat.)

Rshard · 02/10/2019 07:01

Thanks for the sign up thread BIWI

Almahart · 02/10/2019 08:04

Okay good advice, I think I’ve been eating lots of fat (BPCs) but maybe need to up it.

My current veg go to is a cauliflower or broccoli cheese made with double cream and lemon BUT with the addition of a couple of beaten eggs to make it like a soufflé. It’s delicious. Dijon mustard also good in it.

Rshard · 02/10/2019 08:46

Your cauliflower/broccoli cheese sounds amazing alma! I’m planning something similar for lunch today. I bought the most enormous cauliflower and there’s loads left from dinner last night.

Day 3 of being back on the wagon and I’m re-appreciating how much I love this woe. I’m already feeling better and less bloated.

Cauliflowerpower · 02/10/2019 16:33

@Almahart deffo going to try that next time - My cauli cheese last night left me feeling Blergh as it was just cream and cheese.... cream is deffo not for me... Do you whisk the eggs and then add to the mixture (cold?) or just add a couple of eggs into it.... Thanks :)

Almahart · 02/10/2019 17:12

I just beat them and add them to the mix. I’m going to try it with frozen spinach tonight
