Summer Low Carb Bootcamp - at last the finishing line!

BIWI · 22/07/2019 08:23

Isn't 10 weeks a long time!

The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here one last time

Although this is the last official weigh-in, this thread will stay up for general chat/support until the next Bootcamp - probably in October.

I hope everyone has a good 'final' result.

Every Bootcamp is different, but this one has, I have to say, been remarkably well behaved Grin. I've lost the Big Stick somewhere in the back of a cupboard!

While I know you're all here and reading because I know people don't read all the posts if you want to take the opportunity to meet @ShagMeRiggins (and me) for a lighthearted Bootcamp style & beauty event probably with gin thrown in for good measure send me a PM!

So I weighed this morning a.d tbe scores are 17.13 so a 7lb loss from 18.6 last Tuesday which I'm very happy with!

I'm taking steroids and antibiotics at bff the mo... my mum peered at me in sumday and said "oh yes you can see the steroids, your face has puffed up"...... ahhhhhh thanks mum. So being 1/2 a stone down has really cheered me up.

B - "pancake" with bacon, sausage and avocado
L- big salad with ham avocado, coleslaw and lots of veggies
D - not sure what to call it... it's a mince mixture with chorizo, mushrooms tomato puree herbs and cream... layered with aubergine and courgette and mozzarella with cheddar on the top. It's in tbe slow cooker so we will see.....

Mimosa1 · 26/09/2019 07:35

Well done @Cauliflowerpower - that's an amazing loss ! And your evening meal sounds delicious.

I on the other hand am stuck in the week 3 and 4 doldrums. No movement on the scale and a bit of a chest infection to boot. I'm glad I know from previous BCs that this is a thing but I'd like the scales to get moving again, thank you very much!

Almahart · 26/09/2019 08:17

Thanks @BIWI and @ShagMeRiggins. I’ll look out for those cheeses and coffee. I’m already all over the wine, Wink I really like the Cremant de Loire.

Went out with a very old friend last night. Had the set menu of carrot rapee and steak hachee (with salad instead of chips). I know carrots not that bc but sometimes needs must. Two glasses of Cremant too. Weight is coming off now I am out of week four, I’ve definitely got about another half stone to go. I’m being pretty strict and really not snacking much at all at the moment

ShagMeRiggins · 26/09/2019 08:38

I am so looking forward to the day when I can say “I’ve got about another half stone to go.” It’s going to feel so good.

Rayna37 · 26/09/2019 18:18

Just FYI Dr Zoe Harcombe's diet book is 99p on Kindle (daily deal) today. I haven't read it yet but while it won't be exactly Bootcamp it should be a good LCHF resource I would think, if anyone is interested.

absopugginglutely · 26/09/2019 19:01

Hi all, when does the next BC start please?
Thank you
(Joining gym and hoping to start on Saturday)

venusandmars · 26/09/2019 19:35

Stuck in Bristol Airport waiting for a delayed flight. It used to be so nice here, but now... 😒

No seafood and champagne bar, just pizza, burger, fast food options. Choose Frankie & Bennies as least worst option. But the roast chicken that I choose was finished, ditto the chicken ceaser salad Sad. However ... they do an Omlette. Cheese, tomato, mushroom. Cooked to order with chips swapped for salad.

Phew! A hangry walk out averted.

Cauliflowerpower · 26/09/2019 20:10

Ooooh thanks @Ryana will Mosey on over and have a look...

BIWI · 26/09/2019 21:33

@absopugginglutely around mid-October - can't remember exactly but I'll be posting a link fairly soon!

Panicked yesterday as I had gained 4 pounds and gone up to 10.4. Couldn't think why as I'd stuck to the plan and drank my water.

Just weighed myself now and am 9.13 - which is a new low. Weird. Confused

StuntNun · 27/09/2019 10:18

Dodgy scales Greebo maybe? Could the batteries be running low?

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 27/09/2019 11:46

Doubt it, they're new.

ShagMeRiggins · 27/09/2019 20:18

Greebo, remind yourself you’ve been doing this long enough to realise weight loss — and weight gain — isn’t linear. Don’t panic. You’ve been brilliant.

I'm sorry I had to stop this time, I was back and to the hospital visiting my mum and it's been a dreadful summer. I have started following Keto images on Instagram and tats inspiring

Mimosa1 · 28/09/2019 13:24

Hi @littlebillie I'm sorrry to hear things have been tough. I never managed to get started this summer with far less of a good excuse and I've on most of the weight from the last BC I did 2 years ago but I'm glad to be back on the wagon as I'm feeling better for it, particularly now I'm out of the week 3-4 stall with a mini woosh FINALLY. Still suffering with a horrendous cold so taking it easy this weekend. Wishing everyone well.

MrsTerryPratchett · 28/09/2019 14:58

After ShagMe hit me with a big chocolate stick, I've got back on the wagon. Gained 6 pounds before I did though. Important learning though. I definitely can't handle the 'couple of squares of dark chocolate' most BCers can.

My local kebab shop, I asked about a kebab without the bread and he said, "of course we do that, lots of people ask, double meat?" What a world we live in. Obviously too processed for actual bootcamp and I couldn't finish it but a delicious junk food treat.

8Track · 28/09/2019 17:24

Hello lovelies! Just back from holidays in a very windy isle of Purbeck. Sorry to hear the tough times, Alma, ShagMe and any others.

Been planned off plan (too many plans there!) and enjoyed many ciders, ploughman's, chips, ice cream when I fancied them. However, didn't have a massive splurge just because I could (very unlike me!) and have walked absolute miles, feel hugely relaxed - so well worth it.

Looking forward to a low carb shopping run and getting back to this WOE, it's shockingly good for me!! And local farmers market tomorrow now has a new oyster stall - must be low carb?! (Maybe not the verre du vin alongside, but hey let's not be too strict straightaway!)

Happy weekends all.

littlebillie · 28/09/2019 18:50

I'm restarting and planning ahead again

absopugginglutely · 28/09/2019 19:18

@BIWI thank you 😊
Can I just share my food today..

2xcoffee with double cream
Breakfast: tuna steak
Lunch: salad leaves, avocado, 2 large mushrooms fried in butter, some goats cheese, cucumber, radish. Dressing (white wine vinegar, Dijon mustard and mayo)

Dinner: prawns fried in butter, brocolini, avocado, 1 mackerel, Greek yog and cinnamon for pudding.
Is this okay for day 1?

BIWI · 29/09/2019 07:43

That looks lovely, @absopugginglutely!

absopugginglutely · 29/09/2019 07:51

Thank you @BIWI I’m cooking a roast chicken for my family today so I’ll have to just have the greens and chicken :)

BIWI · 29/09/2019 07:54

... don't forget the crispy skin!

Mimosa1 · 29/09/2019 12:31

Gaah my lovely woosh has done, probably due to the eleventy billion cups of milky tea my poor throat requires. However the lovely recipes on this thread have been inspiring and I've not managed too badly being ill (rather than falling into grapes and chocolate) so koko

ShagMeRiggins · 29/09/2019 13:20

After ShagMe hit me with a big chocolate stick, I've got back on the wagon

Yeah, sorry not sorry about that, MrsTerry Grin

ShagMeRiggins · 29/09/2019 13:41

And local farmers market tomorrow now has a new oyster stall - must be low carb?!

Hi, 8track! What’s that you say? An oyster stall at your farmers’ market? Oh yeah, sign me up! Oysters 2g carbs. Result. (I shared a dozen last night—they were amazing.)
