Morning all.

Very late arrival home last night - flight left Amsterdam over 2 hours late, so didn't get home till almost 2 am. Cue night of horrible insomnia - despite fatigue!

And of course, was finally fast asleep when the alarm went off Hmm

Anyway here is the spreadsheet

I haven't had time to catch up on all the posts, so not sure if this is going to be a great Monday or otherwise!

But fingers crossed all has gone well this week. Will read all the posts and come back later.

Oh and I hope no one sees/judges a thread i started in the baking topic, it's not for me honestly!

Rshard · 25/06/2019 21:08

Congratulations mumble!! I think stuntnun low carbed through a pregnancy.

ShagMeRiggins · 25/06/2019 21:39

Lol at flowers as a substitute for a good shag...

My thoughts exactly, but I did appreciate the suggestion from venusandmars

Flowers are expensive, good shags are free. Can anyone tell my husband has been away for almost a week?

Sorry, shall raise the tone and also join in: starting tomorrow I am committing to 30 days of sobriety (currently sipping a gin & slim).

I did this before—committed to no alcohol until a mini-goal of weight. I did very well for six weeks but didn’t achieve my goal (dropping alcohol didn’t make a bit difference for me, so I’m a bit flummoxed, weight-wise). So I failed, but I’m resilient and will not give up.

This means no alcohol for many mice, planned summer events, but gives me the opportunity again to revisit my relationship with it, both for weight loss, and for improved health (physical and mental).

Cheers. Gin

Rayna37 · 25/06/2019 21:45

Ooh congratulations Mumble

Just had kedgeree for dinner and it was delicious. Bit of a faff for a weeknight though especially as had to use a real cauliflower as no frozen cauli rice in. My recipe (converted from Jamie Oliver) is on the fish/seafood recipe thread.

I've eaten some of the office crap today but away working for the next two so aiming for enjoyable eating out and good choices.

Rayna37 · 25/06/2019 21:47

Shagme I hope your DH is home soon or do we have to send Tim Riggins round? I don't think he's busy these days Grin

18pagesfrontandback · 25/06/2019 23:03

So is Riggins a person then? I was reading it as a ‘shag my bones’ ‘roger me senseless’ type request. With a bit of a pirate twang to it.

Arr me hearty, shag me riggins would ye...

Off to google Tim Riggins...

venusandmars · 25/06/2019 23:07

Ah.. but flowers last for at least a week Grin Wink

18pagesfrontandback · 25/06/2019 23:11

And in other news - successfully ‘fasted’ today until dinner at 8:45pm. Well, fasting with 3 cups of coffee with cream and a bouillon.

Thought about booze more tonight, but only briefly. Am already having the ‘just on weekends is fine’ chat with myself. So need to shut that shit down or make the decision to limit it to one night/certain quantity a week only. Might see what Friday’s weigh in brings.

Still look a god awful state though, so that’s either toxin overload still in my system or hay fever/allergies playing up and lack of sleep. Or maybe coming down with something. My bags look like a landscaped garden. Ffs.

18pagesfrontandback · 25/06/2019 23:14

Right, all caught up on Riggins. Never heard of him or the show. It’s now on the watchlist Grin

venusandmars · 25/06/2019 23:18

@MumbleLumble congratulations - that is a wonderful NSV (although not one that many of us would like to replicate Grin) I think that this woe is healthy and good for our bodies (just look at how yours has responded). It has loads and loads of good veg, healthy protein, and no sugar [or things that change easily to sugar].

I think, the main thing is to be guided by your body. I ate massive amounts of cheese and tomato in one pregnancy, and loads of meat in another.

18pagesfrontandback · 25/06/2019 23:23

And then you can sling ‘em out and get yourself a new, younger, fresher, more erect bunch to see you through another week.

18pagesfrontandback · 25/06/2019 23:24

Mumble - meant to say congratulations too! Here, have a shag some flowers Flowers

ShagMeRiggins · 25/06/2019 23:42

Ha! My husband is back tomorrow night (and I do fancy him something rotten).

But dear lord...Tim Riggins. I am not a woman who salivates over Poldark/Jamie Dornan/younger men/actors/fictional characters. One only admires the sheer beauty and attitude of Tim Riggins.

Age-appropriate me would have had him, totally

I had leftover cod with asparagus and celeriac dauphinois for dinner. To not derail the thread. Am now sipping a whiskey & water.

As Scarlett O’Hara said, “Tomorrow is another day.”

WATER! WATER! WATER!

ShagMeRiggins · 25/06/2019 23:51

mumble what lovely news. You’ll be okay to low carb through pregnancy, with a few modifications, I think. As Rshard said, @StuntNun has done this, and so have others.

Remember you’re eating real food, freshly prepared, and getting loads of vitamins and nutrients. No child in utero was malnourished from lack of pasta. Smile

I do think BC lite will be the way forward, just focus on the great healthy eating and not the weight loss aspect. I wish you a very happy pregnancy. Flowers

Summery1 · 26/06/2019 01:00

Congratulations Mumble!!

B: raspberries
L: 3 eggs scrambled with feta and spinach, mushrooms and roasted broccolini.
D: chicken coleslaw, greens,

Then... 1 ryvita with hummus and 1 with cheese (plus small scoop of icecream).

8 hours of cycling between Friday Saturday and Monday, has left me tired and hungry for carbs. Plus my Monday loss was gone this morning. And I don't feel good for the carbs I've had, I just haven't quite the same mojo. But I wanted to eat a tub of icecream, so cheese on a ryvita isn't the worst I could have done.

ShagMeRiggins · 26/06/2019 01:12

Summery if you’re doing that much exercise (8 hours cycling!), you’ll have to expect the scales to reflect it.

Might not be the number you want, but it’s a gain in muscle and fitness. Look to the long-term. I know it’s difficult when the scales betray you (fecking scales, you’re dead to me). Just look to the long-term. You’re doing great.

MumbleLumble · 26/06/2019 05:42

Thanks everyone so much. I've have the most horrendous morning sickness but I will carry on as best I can. I might have to give it BIWI as it's middle name Wink

18 the last thing I feel like right now is a shag! GrinGrin

Almahart · 26/06/2019 06:44

Mumblelumble this is fantastic news!!!! Many congratulations

18pages this may not work for you, but I found that I am very susceptible to apps that track your behaviour and did dry January with the Dry January app. I drink way too much, that was the first time I’d gone a week without booze since pregnancy, let alone a month. Might be worth a try? (It works all year)

I’m really keen to get down to the next level and then cruise to the end of camp on bc lite. Had cold roast belly pork and salad yesterday lunch, lamp chop and salad for dinner. Boring! I need to mix it up a bit

Today will be tuna and rocket salad for lunch (I know, still dull), not sure about dinner

Grimbles · 26/06/2019 06:59

Congratulations mumble. Another BC baby!

StuntNun · 26/06/2019 07:58

Can I carry on low carbing whilst pregnant?

Congratulations @MumbleLumble this Way of Eating is supposed to be good for PCOS. My last pregnancy was low carb although I did have some carbier foods in the first trimester due to morning sickness. I suggest sticking with Bootcamp Light and taking a pregnancy vitamin supplement since the baby will get first dibs on vitamins in your diet and you don't want to leave yourself low. I don't think you should be fasting for extended periods during pregnancy but a 16:8 style of fasting should be okay. Be guided by how you feel and your appetite. Tbh I found the birth itself was the trickiest part. I had a section so was in hospital for a couple of days and the food was terrible for low carb. Fortunately my bag was packed with olives, nuts and pork scratching to keep me going!

Notwatchingtvtoday · 26/06/2019 08:53

Congratulations mumble wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy. shagmeriggins hope mr shag me gets home safely.

summary1 have you tried a couple of teaspoons of Marsacapone when your craving ice cream, it works for me.

B Greek yogurt, Linwoods, Tsp double cream, 1 raspberry crumbed
L eggs and salad
D cold beef , homemade coleslaw
Lots of water

NigellaAwesome · 26/06/2019 09:08

Congratulations Mumble

This thread is great for inspiration - I googled texas slammers - I can't wait to try them!

Also googled Friday Night Lites - will definitely add to my watch list.

I've been working on a protracted legal case for the last couple of days, and it has left me feeling stressed and I couldn't sleep last night. I'm seeing the barrister later today, so hopefully all my work will have paid off and I can hand it over to someone else to worry about now.

venusandmars · 26/06/2019 09:34

Getting ready to go on holiday, and at that horrible stage where I have a list of things to complete before I leave that can't possibly fit into the time that's left. So rushing around like a bit of a mad thing.

B - bullet proof coffee
L - scrambled egg, smoked salmon, mushroom, creamed spinach
D - going out, but I've looked at the menu and I think I'll have scallops with salad, then whitebait with broccoli

Rshard · 26/06/2019 10:08

I’d also (mid)interpreted the meaning of your name shagme in the same way as 18pages!

Think I also need to google Tim Riggins and Texas slammers.
