Morning all.

Very late arrival home last night - flight left Amsterdam over 2 hours late, so didn't get home till almost 2 am. Cue night of horrible insomnia - despite fatigue!

And of course, was finally fast asleep when the alarm went off Hmm

Anyway here is the spreadsheet

I haven't had time to catch up on all the posts, so not sure if this is going to be a great Monday or otherwise!

But fingers crossed all has gone well this week. Will read all the posts and come back later.

Egg mayo, smoked mackerel, lc sausages are foods I’d happily not see for a while Asleep

NigellaAwesome · 29/06/2019 12:27

I'm still on a very restrictive diet after my surgery, so those things sound like bliss to me.

I don't really know why I'm hanging out here, as reading about all the gorgeous food is a form of torture.

Almahart · 29/06/2019 12:44

notlostjustexploring thank you for that reminder. I’m feeling quite stuck at the moment

I did also (probably related to feeling stuck) fall off the wagon last night for the first time. I was at a friends for dinner - annoyingly it was v lc friendly, chicken, aubergine parmagianna and berries and cream but I had a few crackers and then a slice of cake. And tons of white wine. Back on it today with bacon and eggs

TheWayOfTheWorld · 29/06/2019 12:51

My goodness, I had 2 and a half small glasses of fizz last night and (a) felt hammered and (b) felt rotten this morning. It really is not worth it!

Can't remember who suggested it - was it @MrsBertBibby? - but next time it is a large glass of water inbetween alcoholic beverages (and fewer of those as well!)

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 29/06/2019 13:17

Got drunk again last night celebrating the successful start of our run. Blush

Think I may have also eaten a crisp...

Doilooklikeatourist · 29/06/2019 22:48

Much better day. Food wise today , through the heat was almost unbearable at times
Loads of water drunk ,
Bacon for breakfast , salad for lunch and omlette for dinner
Couple of glasses of white , and sat out in the sun for an hour or so
Fitbit changing , ready for a day out tomorrow

Almahart · 29/06/2019 22:55

Today’s food:
Bacon and egg

Cheese, cucumber, spring onion

Chicken mushroom and courgette kebab

One square of galaxy given to me by a dc
Three glasses of wine
A bite of naan

So actually lots of cheats - I haven’t been like this through bc, I think I am getting bored

Does anyone else feel very bloated? I assume it’s heat related. I weighed myself and the scales reported half a stooge gain which can’t be right

MrsTerryPratchett · 29/06/2019 23:24

I made the chocolate pots in the OP of the desserts thread. Bloody hell they are good.

I also found some hippy dippy keto chips made (locally) out of sunflower seeds and love. A bit of crunch but I can have one or two. Crisps I'd have the bag.

prettybird · 29/06/2019 23:35

They are good, aren't they, MrsTerryPratchett Smile ....the result of a fortuitous mistake/omission from the original recipe in the Guardian Grin

MrsTerryPratchett · 30/06/2019 00:23

So rich because if the mistake!

venusandmars · 30/06/2019 02:14

B - Omlette with spinach and cheese
L - lox bagel, but without the bagel, so smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers
D - wonderful meal at 'Leaf and Vine' : tuna tartare, broccoli with cheese, duck...

AsleepAllDay · 30/06/2019 02:49

@Almahart you might need to up your water intake / electrolytes

Almahart · 30/06/2019 08:27

Thanks Asleep I am back to normal this morning after lots of water yesterday evening. I assume it was water retention

BIWI · 30/06/2019 09:06

Half a stooge?!

WATER, WATER, WATER

... and stop cheating. There's lots of 'relaxing' going on here - which will not do any of you any favours come Monday morning's meeting with the scales Grin

If you're bored with any food then stop eating it! There's no rule that says you have to eat eggs or kebab meat or whatever. Go and read the recipe threads for some inspiration for something different. Or just get one or two of your cook books out and see what you can find that is either low carb or can be adapted to be low carb

Notwatchingtvtoday · 30/06/2019 10:18

Morning all

I’m up this morning with no cheating, so hope it’s water retention due to hot day yesterday.
Today
B Greek yogurt and butter coffee
L beef and FLGV - will be late one with in-laws
D berries and cream

BIWI · 30/06/2019 11:05

Came across this article today, about artificial sweeteners, and the impact that they have on our bodies - basically supporting the view that they can make it harder for us to lose weight if we use them

from the Fast 800 website

That’s interesting BIWI, I have completely kicked my Diet Coke habit this BC, nasty aspartamy stuff

My half stooge disappeared overnight Grin. Wierd

Breakfast was bacon and scrambled eggs. Back on the water

VeryLittleOwl · 30/06/2019 13:10

Bugger, didn't realise how carby haslet was until I was throwing away the empty packet. (10g per 100g). Lesson learned.

Ninkaninus · 30/06/2019 13:16

Hi everyone!! ☀️☀️☀️

I was thinking to myself last night that I had better check back in with you all and that it felt like forever since I had dipped my toe into the thread, and then I realised this morning that it has been forever. Time flies when you’re a) busy with job search and b) trying not to think too much.

I’m still plodding along for the most part. One major indiscretion a couple of weeks ago (LIDL pretzel roll with a picnic lunch). Little bit of potato salad yesterday.

Losing a little, slowly but surely. 3 lbs off since the last time I updated.

Hope you all are having a lovely day.

MrsBertBibby · 30/06/2019 13:41

Hi Nink. Missing you on here x

I am stranded on my sofa with a belly stuffed with scrambled eggs and almond scones. Buttery heaven.

Ninkaninus · 30/06/2019 14:05

Having read back through some of the thread,

Flowers Flowers Flowers for Mumble, what a lovely surprise!

Grin Grin at pirate voices/shagging talk.

I read BIWI as BI-we (shorter e sound that the full wee).

I’m so glad the sun is out this weekend. I really suffer when it’s grey and gloomy. Hope you all have got lovely sunshine too!

Ninkaninus · 30/06/2019 14:06

Hi MrsBert it’s good to be back amongst LCing friends. 🌷

Notwatchingtvtoday · 30/06/2019 17:06

Made a fab celaric dish that was really easy, everyone ate it rather than the new potatoes I had done for them.

Melted butter in casserole dish, added 2 chopped shallots and 1 clove of garlic, browned.
Added 2 bags of frozen Celaric, browned.
Added slug of double cream, knob of Boursin, small handful of grated cheddar and 2 bay leaves. Added about 50ml of water
Roasted in oven for an hour at 180

Was delicious and very very quick and easy to prepare

MrsTerryPratchett · 30/06/2019 19:03

Famous last words about the hippy chips. They have triggered my first bout of IBS since zero noodles. My body really hates food that is pretending to be other food.

Back to recognizable protein, fat, and FLGV. For every meal.

Nice to see you back Nink.
