Morning all.

Here's the Spreadsheet

The link should open on the rules rather than just the spreadsheet because I rather think some of you need a reminder!

@Dia12 - you asked about water. Do you not know how much you should be drinking? If you don't know, then that tells me that you haven't read (or remembered) the rules!

Seriously - drinking the water is really important. That's why it's one of the rules.

So we're in week 4 - remember, this one has a reputation (along with its evil twin week 3) for being a week where weight loss is limited or even unlikely. Don't despair if you don't see any loss this week. As long as you're following the rules, you will be fine.

And remember - it's not all about the scales! Take your measurements, or try on something that was too tight a month ago, and you'll get a much more realistic idea about your progress.

I'm away for the next three days, visiting my best friend, so don't really know a) what's going to happen on the food front and b) how often I'll be able to post. I should have wifi on the train, but after that - who knows! I'm travelling first class though, so looking forward to my fried breakfast this morning.

I hope you all have a very good week.

Down .5 of a pound today. (Was a pound yesterday but the scales Went up again this morning)

I can’t emphasise how important the water is. I was out yesterday from 7 until 7 in a field for an event. It was freezing and wasn’t able to drink enough water - I feel terrible today as a result. Probably why I weighed heavier today!

I am looking forward to this week. I have a had a real shift in attitude towards food in week 3. It took me that long to see how I can make this woe working whilst still cooking for the family. I am feeling more confident about saying no to foods & making sensible choices when out.

My biggest challenge is going to be half term in Germany at end of Feb.

Condamine · 04/02/2019 08:13

Well, I am up 600g today. I knew it hadn't changed much as I have been monitoring it all week.
I am still on BC strict and haven't touched alcohol or anything carby since we started.
I am a bit fanatical to the point I leave carrots, tomatoes, red peppers etc.
I am definitely drinking at least 3.5l a day too.
I can see a change in shape and I feel so much better in myself, so I am carrying on and hoping week 4 is a bit better!

Condamine · 04/02/2019 08:20

Just been to fill in the spreadsheet - Oops I am actually up 1.6 pounds which is even worse Shock

KiteMarked · 04/02/2019 08:23

For some reason this week's weigh-in cells are rounding up on the spreadsheet.

I'm back to my week 2 weight after gaining in week 3, woop!

Good luck this week everyone.

Bloodybigbabybelly · 04/02/2019 08:24

Lost 2 1/2lbs this week which I am very pleased about. Navigated my nieces birthday tea of beige food. I ate the cheese my nephew ate the pineappleGrin everyone's a winner

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 04/02/2019 08:35

Have a lovely time biwi

I have lost 1.5 lbs this week. Total 11.5 lbs.

Slightly perplexed about measurements. I am exactly the same bust, waist, lower hip (includes bum), thigh and knee as I was when I started. I am 1/2 less on my 'upper belly' (the roll of fat above my waistband) and 1/2 less on my lower hip (actual hipbones that includes roll of fat below waistband).

The upper belly measurement has no bearing on trousers. The lower belly does and trousers aren't cutting me in two so that's good. How come trousers feel looser in the leg and bum though when there has been no change to the measurements in that region? The trousers in question were fresh from the was so not stretched out after wear. Very odd. Not complaining but odd.

Good luck for the week everyone.

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 04/02/2019 08:36

Urgh. Missing paragraphs. I did put them in but the app hates me.

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 04/02/2019 08:37

I meant 1/2 inch less on my upper hip.

Mimosa1 · 04/02/2019 09:07

1 kg down to 76.3kg for me. I'm pleased with that but slightly bittersweet at that's almost exactly the weight I was when I stopped tracking last summer. @tootstastic I wish I'd stuck with it like you have ! Well done you. My next goal is to get into the 75s - and to fit into a slim cut pair of black trousers I bought from NewLook in a size 14 that I can't pull over my thighs yet...

venusandmars · 04/02/2019 09:13

@haworthia re coconut flour: I've found that bread-like things are difficult with coconut flour - it is much wetter than normal flour so you use less of it, and it doesn't have gluten to stick stuff together hence the use of more eggs. Plus I find it a bit grainy. I prefer it in recipes where I expect a coconutty taste e.g. thai flavours or indian flavours. For example garlic lime fish with a thai lemongrass salad, or fried chicken fingers with a vegetable curry or coconut rice and curry sauce.

@MrsFionaCharming the cake will have refilled your glycogen stores, and for every 1g of glycogen there will be an additional 3-4g of water. Back to boot-camp rules, plus intermittent fasting (16:8) and you'll loose the water quickly again.

m0therofdragons · 04/02/2019 09:15

Have a great time @BIWI

The one thing I'm missing is cereal at breakfast. Plain cereal like porridge, rice crispies or weetabix. Pasta, rice, potatoes and bread I can live without (okay, I miss bread but I know I lose control when I eat it so that's a big no).

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 04/02/2019 09:19

And I have my first weight loss!

Week 1 - static
Week 2 - static
Week 3 - gain! +1.8lb
Week 4 - loss! - 2.7lb

So a 0.9lb loss overall. But more NSVs than SVs. My bum and thighs are definitely less pudgy.

Well done everyone.

venusandmars · 04/02/2019 09:29

I'm 1.5lbs down, and 5.5lbs down overall. Ridiculously please because it brings me to a weight that I touched briefly once last year, in October - but that was when I had just returned from a week at yoga and meditation camp where the food was vegetarian but unbelievably carby - gluten free bread, gluten free porridge, vegetable pasta bake, vegetarian 3 bean chilli.... I 'survived' on yogurt and seeds for breakfast, salad and cheese for lunch, plain vegetables and butter for tea... Oh wait a minute, that's pretty much like an extreme boot camp! Grin

My scales are still dodgy (they don't seem to like cold weather) but after fluctuations during the week I just accepted the first reading they gave me this morning. More telling though is trying on a dress and being able to zip it up easily. It's a beautiful one that I bought for an event more than 20 years ago and wore only once. Despite all the de-cluttering advice telling me to get rid of anything I couldn't fit into, I couldn't bear to part with it. During last year I could just squeeze into it, but I was worried that breathing might cause it to rip. Then I put on a few pounds in November / December and I couldn't do it up again. So pleased this morning that I wore it to the kitchen to make a cup of tea - just as well the postman didn't call to wonder what I was doing in an evening dress at 8.30am Smile. It was a real reminder to concentrate on the size / shape rather than the pounds. And hopefully after another few weeks can wear the dress, and actually be able to sit down!

venusandmars · 04/02/2019 09:33

And logging food for today:
B - avocado
L - greek style chicken burger with cheesy 'pizza' topping, salad
D - moussaka, garlicky buttered green beans, pak choi

Hermie12 · 04/02/2019 09:37

well done everyone. Another 1lb for me this week, slow and steady wins the race could have been invented for me! I am most pleased with losing 2 inches from my waist and tummy, which is where all my weight sits.
Safely negotiated a family party yesterday. Managed to swerve the crisps and stick with cucumber sticks and couple of mini sausages.
I had asked before what was being made for dinner and my sis kindly made me a separate lasagne with courgette instead of pasta. How on earth I resisted the lure of the chocolate gateaux though I have no idea, feel far better for that decision this morning though! Here's to a successful week

Haworthia · 04/02/2019 09:44

Thanks for the tips @venusandmars. Those chicken fingers look amazing!

I was a bit nervous about getting on the scales this morning because my digestive system has ground to an absolute halt. Can’t even blame LC, this is normal for me. But the numbers were OK, and I can safely assume the real figure is a pound or two lower Blush

LazydaysofSummer · 04/02/2019 09:47

Slight increase for me, which is fair enough,. I think the two fast days whilst with the customer helped counteract missing the gym and drinking wine this weekend. Back full on this week, and may try and up my workouts too just to combat the week 4 stall.
I've actually lost four inches off my waist, but my tummy, hips and bum have stayed the same, so I kinda look fatter as my belly is just sticking out that bit more! Still it's going the right way now, which I'm pleased with.

CowGurl · 04/02/2019 09:48

I've put on a pound this week, but I have just had a lovely weekend in London with my husband who I haven't seen much of lately as he's been traveling. I kept to bootcamp rules for breakfast and lunch (had my first naked burger!) but didn't for supper, and there might have been a few glasses of wine, and half a Guinness during the rugby on Saturday.

Back on it now though. Am going to reduce dairy this week and also keep an eye on portion sizes. I know I don't need sugar now, I just need to stop the snacking.

I think I eat out of boredom, I'm not hungry, but when I'm itching for something to do I automatically head to the fridge, for a Babybel nowadays, but they all add up. Interesting. Maybe I should take up knitting again.

I'm three pounds down overall, which at least is heading in the right direction. If I hadn't been doing this WOE I would likely have put on at least another 2. My blood sugar is also more stable - I'm not diabetic but had some blood test that put me in the pre-diabetic category so keeping an eye on this occasionally. I'm feeling pretty perky this morning too. I had been feeling very sleepy during the day, so maybe my body is struggling to adapt to using fat as fuel rather than carbs.

Anyway, this bootcamp is fab and really appreciate all the tips and advice. I'm another who has bought a ZOZO suit - such a great idea! Jeans that might actually fit!

xx

m0therofdragons · 04/02/2019 09:50

@venusandmars I have a beautiful LK Bennett dress (was in the sales) that I've not worn for 2 years! I plan to wear it again this Spring. It goes on but a can't sit down and look like a squashed sausage. Will need to be at least a stone lighter to fit it properly. It's a good motivator.

Tryingnottobesociallyawkward · 04/02/2019 09:51

Morning all,. I stayed the same which is a plus when I've found the water hard for 3 days last week. No idea why, I just 'forgot'. I'm making sure that doesn't happen again. No dodgy foods though so it could have been a lot worse.

I also saw a dietician as part of a weight loss initiative locally. I'm engaging with it for the medical side (I have no problems and want to keep it that way) and access to counselling as I know my moods have a huge effect on the way I eat.

I was wary of telling her about low carbing. My plan was to let her tell me what she wanted and just to carry on with this woe. Instead I went with honesty is the best policy. She said they didn't recommend it and that we are on a really low carb diet (I didn't think we were on ultra low just not eating mostly the obvious culprits buy hey I'm not the dietician). She seems happy for me to continue which is good as I've no plans to stop something that works for me!

I'm loving hearing all these positive stories be they scales or non-scales. And thanks so much to those saying about pate on cheese and roasting veg like cauliflower. I tried it with some garlic powder and turmeric...amazing!

I hope you all have a fantastic week!

Dia12 · 04/02/2019 09:52

A loss of 2lbs this morning, was 4lbs earlier in the week.....that's a bit of a bummer, it just feels so painfully slow!

Does the weight loss slow down around week 3/4 because we are becoming "fat adapted" perhaps?

@BIWI, I checked my water in take in the BC rules and it's 3L for me, which is what I had made a mental note of......but I was thinking perhaps I need to increase that for more efficient weight loss? 🤷🏻‍♀️ dunno just trying to figure out why my loss is so slow.
I'm not exercising but from what I understand you don't necessarily have to on this woe.
Anyway, have a lovely trip away!

lurknolinger · 04/02/2019 10:13

Congratulations UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea on your first loss and extra kudos to you for not giving up despite not losing initially and even gaining in the first weeks. I gained in week 2 so know how disheartening that is. Hopefully the losses will keep coming for you.

GuyMartinsSideburns · 04/02/2019 10:14

I haven't weighed today - it's my time of the month so may leave it til next week. I've just had some sad news so not feeling as chipper as I was first thing, I'm taking it a bit easy today. I had breakfast earlier but haven't thought much further than that, I've had a bit of a bawl and given myself a headache Hmm Hoping tomorrow is better!

Hope you all have a lovely day Flowers

tootstastic · 04/02/2019 10:15

Hey @Mimosa1 what's a few weeks between friends in the grand scheme of things?! You're back on it now, which is the main thing. Just think, we'll both be looking amazing towards the end of this year.

2.3lbs off for me this week.

Another one with a bag of coconut flour used once; in fact mine may even be out of date by now! And I'm definitely not drinking enough water, so thanks for the reminder @BIWI

SlinkyDinkyDoo · 04/02/2019 10:23

Absolutely love the idea of you wafting around your kitchen in an evening dress venusandmars.
.
I'm going to do some of that when I've lost some more weight.
.

I have a ton of clothes from when I was 3 stone lighter and cannot wait to get back into them.
