Morning all!

We have four weeks left; time, still, to lose at least another 4lbs or so

Here's the Spreadsheet

Hopefully some good results to report!

Officially 65.8kg so 400g off and the stall is officially over.
I have some new clothes from the Tu 25% off including bras that fit. I’m only half way there in terms of weight loss but I have been really inspired by everybody choosing to take care of themselves.
This was the first proper clothes shopping I’ve done in over 3.5 years Hmm due to ivf x 2 then pregnancy then breastfeeding. I feel great having jeans that fit!

BIWI · 19/02/2018 09:22

If you're bloated, then drink more water! I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but it's the best way.

@DakotaFanny

You are only in week 4 of Bootcamp. You lost 8lbs in your first week, and then gained in your second week - because you admitted you had cheated!

And weeks 3 & 4 are notorious for little or no weight loss, so actually I think you've done pretty well - especially if you're already noticing a change in your shape.

Stand back and look at the bigger picture here.

Re your exercise, it will get better, but not until you're properly fat-adapted. If you cheated in week 2, then you will have delayed this occurring. Once you are fat-adapted, you will find you have more energy and your runs will get easier again.

Have a read of The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Performance, by Drs Phinny and Volek. They've done lots of interesting work with elite athletes and low carbing, and how it can improve performance.

Anyone else feeling pissed off with themselves this morning?

I know I'm shrinking and as said my top half faster than my lower half but I tried a pair of work trousers on this morning and they really are too small.

I just don't know how I put on so much weight and didn't notice or care. I was laid up with broken bones and stuffed my face, but i. Clearly piled on a ton of weight in the last six months and just lived in stretchy gear. I even bought bigger clothes and just didn't think about it.

So I'm just feeling annoyed at myself this morning for doing it in the first place. I must have looked a right state.

BlackMozart my kedgeree now added to the fish recipe thread

Definitely suffering from the week 3 stall daily weigher, actually slight increase but KOKOing and will see what my proper end of week 3 weigh in brings tomorrow. Have my parents visiting this week but have planned the food and no need to go off plan, plus I'll be more able to get out and exercise as can safely leave DS with his adoring grandparents and they won't even notice I'm not home

TheWayOfTheWorld · 19/02/2018 09:46

littleladylawyer I did the egg fast last year - 5 day one - and knocked off 7 lbs. Think I followed the IbreatheIeat(?) one - will find the link.

PennyMise · 19/02/2018 09:47

Well, 0.4 lb down which inches me over the line to the 140s so I’ll take it. Feeling quite ropey as I’ve just started my first period after DC2 who just turned one and forgot how insane the mindless sugar cravings can be with this as well. Aaaargh.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 19/02/2018 09:48

Here you go: www.ibreatheimhungry.com/egg-fast-diet-menu-plan-low-carb-keto/

And no, I didn't get any itchy side effects Smile

Appaloosajunction · 19/02/2018 09:51

Stayed the same but overall have lost nearly 10 lbs and kept it off so I'm pleased with that.
More importantly have not eaten any sugar or flour at all despite massive cravings at times.
Good luck for the week everyone and well done to the losers.

ScreamingValenta · 19/02/2018 09:52

Half a pound for me this week.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 19/02/2018 10:08

Evening all! (well it is here).

I am pleased to report that things have finally started to shift and I weighed in this morning at 5lb down from my starting weight (now at 12st2). I think the fact that my period arrived yesterday might have had something to do with it!

Just as well really because I was really starting to wonder if it was worth all the deprivation - but it is and I'm so glad I didn't give in to the little devil on my shoulder whispering "have chocolate! G'wan, it won't matter!"

Didn't eat well today because I was busy all day and didn't have any lunch with me - but even so, I managed to have a snack of Baby bel cheese and cucumber, not crisps. And dinner tonight wasn't ideal either, as I was shattered, so while the DSs had tuna pasta, I had cold salmon fillet (left over from last night) and nothing else Blush

I do probably need to eat a bit more, but have drunk a fair bit of water and elderflower tea today. Fingers crossed that it's all paid off in the morning!

MaudesMum · 19/02/2018 10:09

Up slightly again, but I know why - big family weekend. Have sworn off drink for the next couple of weeks now. And I will crack it!!

BerylStreep · 19/02/2018 10:25

Morning all. Will weigh in tomorrow as things a bit hectic at home last night and today.

Rshard · 19/02/2018 10:36

Morning all

Thanks BIWI for the new thread and well done to all you losers! Especially mimosa on getting to a healthy BMI. Congratulations to those who have persevered through stalls to come out the other side Star

I’m a pound down which I’m happy with, another lb closer to my second lchf stone (3lbs) and getting into the 9’s (4lbs) so I’m koko

DakotaFanny · 19/02/2018 10:41

Thanks BIWI. I know you’re right and I knew that that 8lb loss, while delightful at the time, would haunt me later. I will keep on keeping on because I do believe in this woe. Appreciate your inputs and your excellent work here.

littleladylawyer · 19/02/2018 11:03

Thanks for the link TheWay, 7lbs is amazing in 5 days! I don't have any scales so won't be able to check. I think I'll do Weds, Thurs Fri then have an eggy lunch on Sat and a normal dinner. Glad to hear the itch doesn't strike everyone!

Wh0KnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 19/02/2018 11:15

I forgot to weigh this morning in the flurry of activity for getting the DCs back to school after half term but will do so tomorrow. I think I'm going to call it a day on the WOE though, it really isn't working for me. I'm reluctant to say goodbye to the threads as I have learnt a lot here and like the general chatty supportive nature of them so I might lurk and post occasionally if I have anything useful to contribute or questions about recipes etc but I don't want to derail them.

Wh0KnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 19/02/2018 11:19

While I am still here, a question about the celeriac rice. How are you all using it? We tried it plain steamed last night with a beef and mushroom casserole, it wasn't very appetising. Better as a stir-fry ingredient perhaps?

TimeIhadaNameChange · 19/02/2018 11:42

I'm half a pound down on last Tuesday, which is fine. Seem to be hovering around between 8/8 and 8/10 mark for far too long for my liking, but I need to remind myself that this is how my body works.

Would love to do an egg fast at the end of this week but am undecided. We have a million and one duck eggs at home, which I'm less keen on than hen eggs, but our hens aren't laying much at the mo (or, if they are, they're hiding them again). If I try and do an egg fast on duck eggs I won't last, but it seems silly to buy a few dozen hen eggs when I have plenty of eggs in the house. Dilemma! But I would like to get over this hover, and DP's away from Thursday so I could do something slightly radical without him knowing about it and commenting. I'll have a think (and a nosy around the garden!).

Well done everyone, we can do this!!!!!

blackteaplease · 19/02/2018 11:45

3lb on here as well. Lots of reasons some easy to address, some not. I'm still here and still doing dry Feb.

Bluntness100 · 19/02/2018 11:51

Thats a shame who knows. I think different things work for different people. For example loads of people lose weight on things like slimming world, but it's not for me.

I'm not sure of your history, but have you something else in mind?

TheWayOfTheWorld · 19/02/2018 11:58

*Wh0Knows" I use it with chilli and bolognaise, and find it has a bit more bite than cauliflower rice.

I also use it for risotto and sauté it with good salted butter and shallots. Delicious!

Wh0KnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 19/02/2018 11:58

I started BC last autumn and prior to that lost a stone at SW. The meetings were really inconvenient and I was reluctant to pay £5 a week just to weigh-in and leave, so I stopped going. I think a moderate fat, low carb but not as extreme as BC approach suits me better if I'm honest.

Wh0KnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 19/02/2018 12:01

Thanks TheWay, does it go all creamy in risotto like rice does? I hate rice risotto, but a dry version might be ok. One of the reasons I've struggled with BC is my hatred of butter on veg but if it soaks in as it does with swede I can tolerate it.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 19/02/2018 12:22

It sort of soaks in but doesn't go creamy in the same way (I add a splosh of cream to help it along).
